Mountain Shelter:

Intervention Concept:

The domes have different functionalities.

Conditions:

The shelter is composed by two domes, and it will be located to the cliff, approximately 15 to Southeast. Parts of the domes are inside the mountain, to remember that the old shelters were caves and also to maintain the thermo temperature.

One is the "Water shelter", where a rain water reservoir is the centre. It provides the water to the Cook area and in the other floor, the Toilets. The second dome is the "Fire shelter", where the walkers can warm up on the chimney. The hot temperature climbs and can also warm the place to sleep on the mezzanine.

The dome gives the floors.

The shelter is wood parquet.

The mountain shelter is to be located on a plain flat at an altitude of 2000m on the Iberian Peninsula close to a cliff facing South; The prevailing winds behind of the mountain;

A BMW - Design District The AutoIndustrial SA aims to create an event that promotes an ephemeral character of its represented brands, BMW. The venue is the landfill at Boavista in the riverside area of Santos-o-Velho in Lisbon. The corporate event will focus on the BMW brand, showing innovation and design coupled with technology and quality. The exhibition will present the latest car models of the brand. The BMW Clean Energy Project has well a the redesign of the BMW MilleMiglia1940. Being the location of the event, Santos o Velho, the Design District of Lisbon, AutoIndustrial decides to invite Chris Bangle (head of the BMW design team) for a series of conferences, as well as the designers of the brand.

The BMW space must contain a reception area for the public as well as a private area of work. A small auditorium will serve to present the several conferences where we present the design lines of force surrounding the brand.

ECOVILLAGE in “NGOLA´S LAND", a model for sustainable architecture in Development Countries.

IADE - Master’s degree in Ambient Environments Project draw by Katila Vilar.

ECOVILLAGE in NGOLA´ S LAND A model for sustainable architecture in Development Countries. Project presented to the Creative University, Design Branch IADE to meet the necessary requirements to obtain the Master's degree in Design and Visual Culture, a specialization branch of Design of Ambient Environments. Held by the scientific guidance of Prof. Dr. Architect Cardim Institute of Visual Arts, Design and Marketing- IADE.

This project arises due to the lacking of a severe housing shortage in emer-ging countries, particularly Africa and Angola. A large percentage of the population lives in very precarious housing conditions, creating a serious social, housing and environmental problem. The majority of the population lives urban informal settlements in areas equipment and overpopulated:

on the without

outskirts of infrastructure,

- Without social support structures, education and training for social work and health, creating high unemployment and marginalization. - Without adequate infrastructure such as water and energy and wastewater treatment and solid waste which causes a lack of sanitation and disease. Katila Vilar PortFolio - IADE Ecovilla in the land of Ngola

Angola

is now in the process of reconstruction and economic development. In order to solve the existing housing shortage, the country faces the challenge of building 1 million homes by 2012, of which 60% is self-directed. One of the lines present in the UNDP policy is to create structures that improve the quality of life of rural communities or even to encourage the populations of urban areas to return to their places of origin, ensuring that they have work and sustain.

The objective is to Apply the concept of an ECOVILLAGE in the settlement of the rural areas near Malange. ECOVILLAGE is a Concept that suggests a sustainable habitat based on agricultural production and related activities such as trade, agro-industry and tourism. The proposal:

Program: - Rural Ecovillage of low density (150 - 200 people max) - Low Economic Costs.

Principles of the Vernacular Architecture: - Cultural aspects, customs and traditions, - Social relations, work organization, - Climate, local materials and technology available for this level. - Occupied zoning: - Residential zones: - Social pole: Educational, community center and health Pole, Technology center, arts and crafts, technical and professional training - Ecotourism: the village economy, awareness of nature tion. - Agricultural zone.

Physical and Human Geography:

Renewable energies:

The location of the project is in the province of Malange, approximately near the Stones of Pungo Andongo.

Due to its location, it proved more economical to invest in the transformation of electricity from the Capanda dam, from high to medium voltage.

"An ecovillage is an integrated settlement, with humanly manageable proportions, which integrate human activities on the natural environment without degradation, and that supports healthy human development in a continuous and permanent form. Robert C. Gilman-GEN

Elsewhere, you can use other types of energies: - Systems to capture rainwater, filter and reuse well with natural treatment of sanitation. Environmentally friendly technologies for agriculture (compost, natural fertilizers).

Overview: - Social aspect: cooperative communication, and social tion. - Economic aspect: small economies sustained, fair and jobs.

CONCLUSIONS: It is achieved with few economic resources: - Improve the living conditions of rural communities, - Promote the possible return of displaced populations living in urban areas to their place of origin, but essentially fix those who are living in the area. - Empower communities, by creating structures of social support accessible education, and training of the population, - Encourage the development of agriculture and small local economies, creating jobs. - Preserving the environment and recover the nature promoting ecological values. - Using tourism as a means of wealth creation (directly and indirectly) and social inclusion.

The low economic cost is due to: Use of an existing material on site: the mud. The construction systems and techniques being used simply in order to be used in self-construction. Not require a lot of machinery. Can be performed in stages.

This project aims to be innovative through the introduction of sustainable energy and environmental solutions, including solar-based renewable energy. The concept to be applied about 50 km from Luanda, can be replicated elsewhere and aims to keep people in rural areas, meeting their basic needs, both from the point of view of the housing conditions and social development and fostering entrepreneurship through the promotion of farming, respecting the social environment and culture of these communities.

For this it is necessary to provide the village with basic infrastructure (water supply and treatment of drinking water, sanitation, power supply for lighting and some equipment support, accessibility, and waste management) as well as the installation of social and some community equipment.

Masterplan:

Guiding Principles of Urban Design: The Solar Village is located on a slight topographic formation that develops in the northwest-southeast direction, with a ridge line wide enough to allow a major deployment to avoid wetlands. The Solar Village is near the intersection of Highway Funda - Catete and local road (crossing road). The village was organized linearly along a central axis which coincides with the ridge line. This axis is perpendicular to the road crossing, it is on this one that the main public spaces were implanted (amenities, collective gardens, shops...).

The introduction of renewable energy, both for housing and to support agricultural production, aiming to reduce household spending and a sustainable self-sufficiency is another betting on this R.I. project.

R.I. Peter Richt Architects - SA

The idea around the Solar Village project is guided by the principle of sustainable development. In this sense, aiming the sustainable development of the cluster, was given the most attention to bio and geophysical characterization of the site in order to take advantage of the natural conditions of the place. Thus, solutions were sought in which energy, water and sanitation, food and construction materials are obtained and solved locally where possible. It is intended to be a low-cost project offering the necessary conditions for community empowerment.

The interior of the lot was organized so that the wetlands remain focused in order to reduce the cost of installing the infrastructure. These are located abroad in order to meet the modus vivendi of these communities. Initially the housing was designed to be built in Solar Concrete Blocks in order to involve the community in the building but due to the timing of completion of the project the owner of the work along with the builder decided to change the building system for light steel frame (LSF) , which puts into question the slightly initial concept of the project, which was primarily training and sustainable development of those communities. Background: The land with 13000m2, is located in the Cassequel Commune, about 10 km from the city center of Luanda. Adjacent to the military airport of Luanda, the land can be accessed by road through the Samba Morro Bento or directly through the city center along Deolinda Rodrigues Avenue. Although situated in an area of informal urbanization, the lot is surrounded by many facilities and services such as: the Administration Building of the Cassequel Commune, a primary school and a kindergarden, and the police station. It is also expected in the immediate future the construction of the Community Hospital of Cassequel.

Program and Proposed Occupation: This project of a social nature aims at human enhancement through sports. Actually the LOGOS Group comprises around 760 young people aged between 8 to 20 years. It is a Sports Centre which is based in addition to sporting activity to the general education of young people. As what regards sports the main equipment of this center is the football field that has the official measures of a football field of 11 and includes two soccer fields of 7 within its limits. Apart from this two basketball courts are provided (with multi-sports court), changing rooms, gym and medical services and also housing for youth at the centers when there may be held other sporting events. It is also previewed a building where it will be installed the training center, administrative areas and some residences. Katila Vilar PortFolio - C.L. Logos

FUNCTIONAL ORGANIZATION:

OUTDOOR SPACES:

At the entrance we find the door that controls the access of pedestrians and vehicles as well as the main technical areas. A parking area for 20 vehicles and direct access to the main building complete this first moment of the Center.

The solution presented provides an outdoor area while trying to answer all the existing conditions and provides a comfortable, and appropriate needs of its users. At the same time we also want to create an area that offers thermal comfort and space in the very high open spaces for the buildings, through the shade. The universal accessibility is still a concern of this intervention, since this is considered a key factor in establishing a quality space for everyone. It is proposed to run an array paved in a solid permeable material to allow multiple uses, including pedestrian circulation, maintenance of tracks, some sports and still may, when necessary, allow the movement of emergency vehicles or a parking lot. The markings for different uses should be taken in the floor itself, without the use of gaps. When possible or necessary, the introduction of vegetation zones will be inserted, to limit or manage the areas. The casts are made of selected vegetable soil and climate-adapted species and of ornamental interest.

The football field and the basketball courts are located in a central place in order to better enjoy the morphology of the land. On its perimeter, a track that can be used as a circuit is developed, but also allows the movement of emergency vehicles. Taking advantage of the topographic development, the football field and the blocks are flanked by benches. Laterally to the football field is the seat of the coaches and their teams and just behind the building of resorts. Adjoining the Consignment in the recessed area of the Administration of the Cassequel Commune and to take advantage of the sloping terrain an amphitheater will be deployed.

MAIN BUILDING The concept for the design of this building is based essentially on the name of the program: "Logos" - word of Greek origin, meaning:

Reason, Order, Rule, combined with three needs:

1.

On the one hand emerged from the need to condense in a single building with a relatively dense three main functions: . Training Centre . Administration . Temporary housing

Buildings

Main building - Ground 0 Reception 32.00 m2 Intern circulation 126.00 m2 Vertical acess 46.00 m2 Toilets 24.00 m2 Administration 70.00 m2 Saving room 14.00 m2 Eating room 138.00 m2 Kitchen 73.00 m2 Total 523.00 m2 Pateo 184.00 m2 Garden area 136.00 m2

2.

The need to create the best possible comfort when it comes to natural lighting, energy issues, thermal and acoustic.

3. The desire to create some space, extra-program, which have the ability to be used in so-called free time, breaks, holidays and daily living. Thus, the building is assumed as a square block of a regular cast to the center by a patio with garden areas, which allows the natural lighting and ventilation of all spaces, besides being in itself an area privileged to be outdoors and allow a continuity between the interior and exterior spaces. For the faรงades, we choose a texture of alternating full and empty resulting in a steady pace that allows you to adjust the level of transparency because it allows the flexibility to be able to open gaps whenever they wish, not interfering with the sequence or the same pace. The design of the faรงades on the other hand evokes the image of black and white checkered flags that signal the end of the race, alluding to the sport in general.

SUPPORT BUILDING Providing suport to the center, a technical area is provided where the groups of generators, storage of drinking water and fire. In the most central area for the building lot is inserted a building that is used to support sport, equipped with male and female changing rooms, a physical assessment office / gym and a room reserved for practicing martial arts. These two support buildings, in formal terms are closely linked to the main building by way of its simple geometry and rectangular, with facades metric ruled by five feet, consist of panels of boards of cement.

Blue Bay

c o n c e p t

Background: The land, about 7.7 hectares, is located at the Blue Bay, about 6 km from the town of “Baia Farta” and 25 km from the city of “Benguela”. It is developed on the top of a steep high slope, enjoying a wide and unobstructed view over the bay and beach of 3 km in length, which is considered the best beach in the region. The main vocation of this area, both for its location - views, proximity to the beach - and for its climate and landscape characteristics, is undoubtedly the beach tourism and holiday home.

The land has a substantially rectangular configuration of parallel development to the edge of the cliff. It features a gentle slope towards the coast, being marked by a succession of streams that drain perpendicular to the sea and set the threshold of the cliff, which, given the nature of the soil, causes the ground to present a high risk of erosion. Despite the need for a through examination of the geomorphologic conditions of the terrain - survey and polls - It´ s considered that the buildings should maintain a generous distance to the edge of the cliff and that these drainage lines should remain totally unobstruc-ted and when possible with coating plant. Thus, it is proposed that the buildings are raised on the ground, and may be supported on stilts. If necessary, the access road must also have small bridges and footbridges crossing the lines drainage. The scenic impact is important, because the location is dominant and visible from all directions. However, as the slopes are higher between the ground and the beach, the visibility is thereafter reduced.

Solution 1: This is the creation of a condominium with 30 homes and a clubhouse, where only the area corresponding to the sitting of dwellings is for private use, the ground being a condominium space. Some houses can be for rent, particularly the smaller ones and the ones located on the second line near the sea.

Solution 2: In the second case, consist of lots with houses, being the "clubhouse" another independent batch. In this case, we considered only 20 villas. The project must respond to new trends that increasingly value the aspects related to the protection of the tion of culture and built heritage.

Airport Yuri Gagarin

It is expected that the land that will be urbanized will enter the area according to a mesh of squares defined by streets. The land is at the forefront urbanization on the sea having a north limit a coastal road and surrounded by all other sides by city streets. The main vocation of this area, either by their location - views, proximity to the beach and the city center – as for its climate and landscape features, is undoubtedly the beach tourism.

R.I.

Katila Vilar PortFolio - C.L. Namibe

Concept: Masterplan: The location of the intervention area, the first line of a series of plots of land to urbanize, with uninterrupted views of the ocean and very close Amelia Beach, as well as a comfortable distance from the city center Namibe, points unmistakably to the installation of an tourism enterprise. In order to diversify the supply of housing, directing it either to both short or long term stays, for couples and families or even for business, is betting on a hotel project type "apart hotel", offering in addition to rooms also offers available apartments or, more specifically, "villas", and these may also benefit from the equipment and hotel services. It is recommended placement of a "high standard" to ensure the integration of a wide range of equipment and services such as: - spa, gym, squash court, panoramic restaurant and bar, swimming pool and "kids club ".

The concept of occupation had as reference some traditional models of land occupation on the desert environment. These models, whether urban settlements as agricultural settlements, are characterized by contained structures, the occupation whose boundaries are clearly defined, usually by walls and the internal organization almost always obeys to a mesh grid. In many cases, these settlements occur in the vicinity of wetlands, irrigation systems are created, also following a grid structure. As in these oases, this project should be able to smoothly combine the desert environment and the elements of water and shade, essential to the well-being of users. The buildings - buildings and walls - are organized according to a grid to define outdoor spaces. Constructive density is more compact and dense to the south, the fronts in contact with the urban streets, diluting to the north towards the sea, opening to the outside. This arrangement allows the construction of two types of exterior spaces: dry spaces and green spaces, which reproduce this interpenetration and contrast: - "Dry" spaces areas that replicate the desert, enjoying the surrounding landscape elements like rocks and undergrowth. These spaces are areas of contact with the outside. - "Green" spaces are centered around the presence of the water element (pool, source, channel), and reproduce the Oasis environment. These spaces are to be "cool" in lush greenery and are located bet-ween the built environment within the enterprise.

R.I.

The project must respond to the changing market trends of tourism globally, markets looking for innovative and true full experiences - cultural, sporting, welfare, physical and spiritual - and value increasingly more the aspects of the protection of the natural environment, local development and preservation of culture and built heritage. Thus, it is considered that the intervention should be perfectly integrated in the local community particularly in terms of construction - when it comes to density, color and materials - and landscape - in the case of exterior environments and vegetation - and opt for infrastructures solutions of low environmental impact. This project can take advantage of the region's specificities, helping to promote local traditions such as folklore and traditional fishing as well as take advantage of the proximity to the Namibe Partial Reserve (approximately 40 km), or even the Iona National Park over the South.

Special emphasis will be given to the aspect of sustainability of all different aspects, such as the materials used, preferably of local origin, rationalization of water consumption and energy, water reuse, the use of clean and renewable energy and the efficient management systems.

Volumetric models:

It is considered that this is a project that will use an integrated management of resources and a guarantee of its operation, availability and continuity of service so that users can enjoy the facilities of comfort. Thus, it is recommended that the management systems of technical infrastructure are centralized. The location of these plants should take into account the distribution design of the building, which defines the center of loads. The conditions of maintenance and external suppliers should also have a great influence.

R.I.

Concept and Guiding Principles of Urban Design: The concept of occupation was to reference some traditional models of land in the desert environment. These models, whether urban settlements as agricultural settlements, characterized by structures being contained, the occupation whose boundaries are clearly defined, usually by walls and the internal organization almost always obeys a mesh grid. In many cases, these settlements occur in the vicinity of wetlands, irrigation systems being created, which also follow a structure grid. The solutions proposed for this project are based on the assumption of full compliance with the essential features of each facility based on the Angolan reality, depending on the conditions of the available infrastructure, technical capacity for implementation; materials available and their quality / price ratio, weather conditions and maintenance expertise.

KIkuxi Background: Center of Viana

The land subject of study, located in the area of Kikuxi in the municipality of Viana, is characterized by being essentially an agro-industrial area where it intends to continue to develop this sector and the agro-livestock. This land, about 11.5 hectares, is inserted in a rural area near a water line and an area of dense vegetation. Most of the land, about 6.5 hectares, is planted with mango and cashew, guava, graviola and pink rose porcelain. The idea is to exploit the competitive advantages that this land offers, both from the standpoint of its agricultural potential, the fact that is in this agro-industrial, with the largest market in the country as well as its potential as an area of 2nd residence/holiday home, ideal for weekends, also because it is located very close to Luanda and fully inserted in a rural setting.

Guiding Principles of Urban Design: It is proposed to extend the wetland adjacent to the land and create a central area of collective use where the main house and lounge areas are located. At the tops of the land are implanted the noisiest leisure facilities - tennis and horses - and the structures supporting the agro-industrial production. These have direct access to the road outside. The workers' homes are located near the work areas and an outdoor access. The remaining land is divided into plots with different cultures in particular, fruit trees and flowers, there may be small gardens near the houses and gardens.

Strategy: Tourism is increasingly seen as a vehicle for sustainable development and as an additional means of income for people who live on the produce of the land. It is an activity that allows the local people to benefit from more jobs in the directly and indirectly activities linked to agriculture and tourism itself, such as trade, ancillary services, construction, leisure and recreation. Rural tourism is a type of tourism practiced in rural areas, which may take different forms: ecotourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism or agro-tourism. The latter is associated with an agricultural settlement, as is the case.

In order to maintain the rural landscape, access and remain on dirt paths and portions are bounded by natural hedges of trees and shrubs.

This concept can take a more touristy part or more residential - in this case taking the form of agro-residential condominium. In this project, the existing plantations should be rehabilitated, with the introduction of new species, focusing on the fruit trees and flowers, whether for direct marketing and processing into derived products. In terms of agro-industrial, you can bet in creating a brand of products designed from the ground and / or purchased in the surroundings, eg jams, candies, nuts (cashews, peanuts), soaps, fragrances, etc ...

Developed work in this project: Urban design Diagrams

Luanda's Marine: Background: The project " Luanda's Marine" brings together the public and the private initiative in a venture of great importance for the development site, with positive contributions in all aspects: social, economic and environmental landscape. From the economic and social standpoint it stands out the creation of employment, during construction and operation, and attraction of innovative economic activities in the local context, in particular those related with boating activity and that are related with tourism and leisure. Also associated with the real estate transaction the project will boost investment in the areas of trade, services and housing. The sea work that will take place will be accompanied by measures and actions viewing to improve the quality of water in the “Chicala, particularly by expanding, increasing the depth and stabilization of the access channel to the bay.

URBAN CHARACTERIZATION:

Primmer public space of the CITY:

Given the pressure of real estate that this area of town has been targeted and densification already noted, it became necessary the renewal and extension of existing infrastructure and urban planning regulations of the city in order to ensure its proper functioning and preserve their identity.

The avenue that skirts the bay of Luanda is the back line along which you were tying the major axes of expansion of the city. This is where the political and economic power of the city has been represented throughout history, it still is today, with the installation of landmark buildings - government ministries, banks, offices of large companies and embassies - they occupy prominent places along the avenue. Setting himself up as the quintessential public promenade, over the years hosted events such as parades, military parades, car races, among others.

In this sense, the Luanda Provincial Government has launched three major initiatives for the area of intervention this study. One, covering the continental side of the bay is the Bay of Luanda Project - Project Renewal and Reorganization of Urban Marginal Zone, which aims to expand the road infrastructure, increased capacity parking, the recovery and expansion of existing public spaces as well as the renewal of infrastructure sanitation of the city.

The project starts now represents a unique opportunity for the renewal of this vocation, and especially to enhance this space as generator axis and polarizing the public life of the city in favor of greater social interaction, leisure and cultural dynamics.

At the same time, will be far-cleaning and dredging of the bay, assuring the navigability the sands taken from the bottom of the bay are deposited along the shore to create landfills.

Luanda's Parcels This work represents the first approach to the study of urban parcels A, 1, 3, 5 and 6 located in the Luanda Bay. This phase consists of the collection, analysis and diagnosis of the urban context that will support the strategy of occupation of plots and by a program uses (quantified), deployment and volume for each one of them. After discussion and approval of the strategy and program, will develop "masterplans" that may give allotments and later rise to projects of architecture or directly, to architectural projects. This project falls under the compensation package agreed between the Provincial Government and Finicapital Luanda in return for ongoing investment in newal and Urban Renewal Zone Marginal, best known for Bay of Luanda, aimed at expansion and rehabilitation of infrastructure and sanitation road, as redesign of public space along the waterfront and the Cape Island in Luanda. The plots, objects of study, two are in Marginal - The Parcel A, in the extreme North near the Port of Luanda, and Parcel 1 the top portion near the connecting the southern connection to the island, accessible from the February 4th Av. The remaining plots are located in Cape Island (Plots 3, 5 and 6), making the access from the Avenue Murthala Mohamed. All parcels approximately have 749,465 m2.

Characterization:

Uses:

Given the pressure of real estate that this area of town has been targeted and densification already noted, it became necessary the renewal and extension of existing infrastructure and urban planning regulations of the city in order to ensure its proper functioning and preserve their identity. In this sense, the Luanda Provincial Government has launched three major initiatives for the area of intervention this study.

A survey was expedited for various uses around the Bay of Luanda from the information in the Requalification Plan of the Cape Island of Luanda and from observing the way for the downtown area of Luanda, and was considered the majority uses in each block. The Marginal is, has long been considered the political, administrative and economic city of Luanda. It is an area consolidated, infrastructure and dense. Predominated by services (offices), there is also a use residential and commercial uses primarily in the ground floors of buildings - despite the existence of some informal street trade - as well as hotels, museums, government buildings, among others. At the eastern end, is the port of Luanda. The Cape Island is mostly occupied side of the bay, with sea side occupation with just a few uses housing and dining and leisure. On the side of the Bay, the occupation is very diverse practice, and the "consistency urban "housing has been identified, both conventional and informal (such township), services, trade (Conventional and poor), as well as areas for development of nautical activities, small industry, including sawmills and some community facilities especially in health and education. There is also some informal settlements on the sede of the Bay that needs to be requalified.

At the same time, will be far-cleaning and dredging of the bay, assuring the navigability. the sands taken from the bottom of the bay are deposited along the shore to create landfills. This turn

The parcel A is located in a landfill area adjacent to the front urbanized city, in this limit, bordering the United States. You are just at the confluence of two distinct patterns of usage on the one hand, the services and activities related to own logistics of an international port and the other an urban mixed-use front, although predominantly Contractors. This parcel is also the culmination of the new promenade. The first portion is at the start of the Cape Island, an area of high sensitivity is defined as geomorphological by a canal connecting the Bay Chicala. Another initiative of the Provincial Government's Plan for redevelopment of the island of Luanda.: This aims to define the mechanisms needed for the upgrading and urban structure of the Cape island in Luanda. The strategy behind this plan aims to ensure the conditions necessary for the permanence of communities on the island, as well as the development of their activities (fishing, trade and crafts) and improving their quality of life, with the construction of facilities, infrastructure, public space, among others, and at the same time, enhance the sustainable development of the island, attracting new investments, particularly tourist-oriented. Right now, there is a new ongoing study, essential in maintaining the general objectives of the redevelopment plan, equates the expansion of the territory in some areas through landfills, such as parcel 3 and parcels 5+6, in order to create conditions for effective environmental rehabilitation, and social infrastructure of

The concepts of "creative city" and "smart city" or Innovation Hub, are concepts that are intertwined, making everyone part of the current discourse on urban regeneration. The concept of creative cities emerged in the early 90s, in response to rapid economic and social change and global competitiveness. He sees people as the main and most valuable resources. "The approach to the creative cities developed by Richard Florida (2003) refers to the importance of commitment to a second generation of public policies related to urban creativity and innovation in a bid aimed at attracting and retaining talent, the ability to develop research and technological products (universities and innovative companies) supported by

It takes four kindergardens, four ATL Center and Day 2 were also considered three community centers distributed around the neighborhood.

The occupation proposal will have as its starting point the design of public space, where the mass will be built intentionally designed to contain and create a diverse range of urban experiences. It is expected that there will be a network of pockets of collective space, close to the living spaces and protected the crossing car used to carry out everyday tasks, activities of cultural and leisure activities such as music, dance or games ball, surrounded by spaces for the sale of products or services (hairdressers, terraces, barbecue, etc.)..

The high proportion of housing to allow resettlement area and over to put on the free market does not allow the use of very high rates, as they are needed green spaces and amenities. The distribution uses - about 71% housing, community facilities 6%, 4% tourism, trade and services 12% on the ground floor for offices and 7%, follows the usual parameters of mixed urban areas;

Lobito Background: The land subject of study, about 3.7 hectares, is located next to the District of the city of Lobito on May 28th street. This neighborhood is located in the downtown area, bordered on the northeast by Porto (1847), by the Northwest Railway (1899) and the South by the sea arm or mangroves and arises precisely in this interaction between sea and rail traffic, hence also be known as the business district. The expansions of the city were usually made through the mangroves on landfills, the a target area has recently acquired a pond.

Katila Vilar PortFolio - C.L. Lobito

Guiding Principles of Urban Design: As the intervention area adjacent to the Commercial District, consis-ting of a regular orthogonal grid formed by rectangular blocks, it is considered that its occupation should contribute to the consolidation of the urban fabric.

Solution 1: Intervention area

Thus, the proposed solution should ensure a perfect urban integration, either through the extension and closure of road infrastructure as the use of the block as an urban composition with the setting and scale of pre-existing elements. The shift limit imposed by the new route to the West in this area allows you to create outdoor spaces and wider dynamic.

The occupation of the intervention is based on the creation of two shopping streets reserved for pedestrians, keeping the direction of existing streets (northeast-southwest and northwest-southeast). Housing is organized in volume and composition of irregular buildings, and can include housing in one or two floors (duplex) and landscaped areas on the balconies.

The target area is bounded by wooded streets, like the existing a-venues and streets, with two-way traffic and parking longitudinal or perpendicular to the track. The front ground floor facing the target area - pedestrian streets and parks - are occupied by the entries of the residential buildings and by stores destined for commerce , or restoration services. The three upper floors are intended exclusively for housing. It is intended to create large outdoor areas for housing. Platforms located on the parking area can serve as common areas to residential buildings and be equipped and gardened. In the developing of the project a whole set of principles of bioclimatic architecture should be taken into account in order to substantially reduce energy consumption and allow the comfortable enjoyment of outdoor spaces.

Guiding Principles of Urban Design:

ACCESSIBILITY: The subdivision is structured from a cross road with two lanes on each side parallel to the route of service, with profile promenade lined with trees and parking in the central and lateral. All lots overlook this way.

Offices Circulation

RESIDENTIAL AREA:

Bedrooms Services Circulation

We choose to deploy isolated towers to create more space at ground level for enjoyment of residents, especially children, making this area more susceptible to nature, with the green to join the inside. We considered three play areas within the residential area, a playground, a playground and a swimming pool, the latter, if you opt for a solution in a gated community.

T2 T3 T4 Circulation Balcony

TERTIARY USES: The tertiary uses - hotel and offices - as in the previous solution can be found along the highway and correspond to lot 2 and 3. This location offers several advantages, including increased visibility, adds more movement in this area and works as a road barrier - acoustic and visual - to protect the residential area. It was on the ground floor of the office complex, creating a small shopping and restaurant, necessary to serve the resident population as well as those who work here.

Concept: The idea was to create some doors arranged randomly on BOOM´s festival venue showing some different tribal cultures iconography, myths and legends of an ancient gnosis on the creation of the world. On the form of myths sometimes similar, tribal cultures try to keep their traditions alive. The doors symbolize the passage between two worlds, between the sacred and profane space.

The Art installation:: To simplify the doors were created in some fabrics and then nailed them on the doors.

Katila Vilar PortFolio - Exhibition Mankind is sun of an Astrounaut god

In the beginning there was only darkness, water, and the great god Bumba. One day Bumba, in pain from a stomach ache, vomited up the sun. The sun dried up some of the water, leaving land.

The time of creation. Time began in the world the moment in which these supernatural beings were "born out of their own Eternity".

Still in pain, Bumba vomited up the moon, the stars, and then some animals: the leopard, the crocodile, the turtle, and, finally, some men, one of whom, Yoko Lima was white like Bumba.

The Earth was a flat surface, in darkness. A dead, silent world. Unknown forms of life were asleep, below the surface of the land. Then the supernatural Ancestor Beings broke through the crust of the earth form below , with tumultuous force. The sun rose out of the ground. The land received light for the first time. They made all the celestial bodies: the Sun, the Moon and the Stars. Then, wearied from all their activity, the mythical creatures sank back into the earth and returned to their state of sleep. According to the Egyptian myth of creation, only the ocean existed at first. Then Ra, the sun, came out of an egg (a flower, in some versions) that appeared on the surface of the water. Ra brought forth four children, the gods Shu and Geb and the goddesses Tefnut and Nut. Shu and Tefnut became the atmosphere. They stood on Geb, who became the earth, and raised up Nut, who became the sky. Ra ruled over all. Geb and Nut later had two sons, Set and Osiris, and two daughters, Isis and Nephthys. Osiris succeeded Ra as king of the earth, helped by Isis, his sister-wife. Set, however, hated his brother and killed him. Isis then embalmed her husband's body

The I Ching or "Book of Changes" is the oldest of the Chinese classic texts. It describes an ancient system of cosmology and philosophy which is at the heart of Chinese cultural beliefs. The philosophy centers on the ideas of the dynamic balance of opposites, the evolution of events as a process, and acceptance of the inevitability of change.

In Sumerian mythology and later for Assyrians and Babylonians, Anu was a sky-god, the god of heaven, lord of constellations, king of gods, spirits and demons, and dwelt in the highest heavenly regions. He came from the planet Nibiru (Marduk). It was believed that he had the power to judge those who had committed crimes, and that he had created the stars as soldiers to destroy the wicked. He was the father of the Anunnaku (also spelled Anunnaki). The Anunnaki arrived first on Earth probably 400000 years ago, looking for minerals, especially gold, which they found and mined gold in Africa.

Hopis - Arizona/ North America: (1.80x.98).

An ancient Hopi Indian prophecy states, "When the Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will emerge". This will be the Day of Purification. The Hopi name for the star SĂrius is Blue Star Kachina. It will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask. The Hopis believe in nine worlds of creation, and we are living now the end of the Forth.

Popul Vuh - Sacred Book by the Mayas/ Mexico: (1,92x 1.93).

The Popul Vuh, sacred to the Mayans, unequivocally states: “Men came from the stars knowing everything, and they examined the four corners of the sky and the Earth's round surface. They came together in darkness to think and reflect. This is how they came to decide on the right material for the creation of man. Religious ritual was elaborate and imposing, with frequent festival occasions in honour of the gods of the winds, the rain, the cardinal points, the harvest, of birth, death, and war, with special honours to the deified national heroes Itzamn and Quetzacoalt, the Plumed Serpent. Eskimos/ Inuit's Creation Myth.

It is said that Raven made the world. He is a man with a raven's beak. When the waters forced the ground up from the deep Raven stabbed it with his beak and fixed it into place. This first land was just big enough for the house that was on it. There were three people in the house. This was a family with a man, his wife and their little son Raven who had fixed the land. The father had a bladder hanging over his bed. After much pleading by Raven the father allowed the boy to play with it. While playing Raven damaged the bladder and light appeared. The father not wanting to have light always shining took the bladder from the boy before he could damage it further.

Nazca - Peru's Desert:(2.10x0.80).

The Nazca Lines are an enigma one has proof who built them or why. Since their discovery, They have inspired fantastic explanations from ancient gods, a landing strip for returning aliens, a celestial calendar created by the ancient Nazca civilization - putting the creation of the lines between 200 BC and 600 AD, used for rituals probably related to astronomy, to confirm the ayllus or clans who made up the population and to determine through ritual their economic functions held up by reciprocity and redistribution, or a map of underground water supplies.

Before the time of creation, the landscape was flat and featureless. The Wandjina, the ancestral creatures of the Dreamtime, came across the sea, down from the sky, and out of the ground. The giants are the gods of old. In the first winter, a mighty giant was created from hoarfrost. And when fire came, he melted. From the enormous bulk of his body came the world. From his blood flowed the sea, from his bones the mountains, from his hair the forests, from his skull the sky. In the centre of the Earth, on hills rising high as mountains, live the gods, and below seethes the Underworld, land of the dead and all their secrets.
