THE 2020 CENSUS: IT’S NOT TOO LATE! There’s still time to make sure your household is counted in the 2020 Census. You can self-respond online, by phone, or by mail using the information provided below. Your response is important: the amount of federal funding the Village will receive over the next 10 years is determined by our population count. Funding can be allocated to health care, infrastructure, education and library services, and much more. An accurate count also makes sure your voice is heard in Congress; Census data is used to redraw congressional districts and to decide the number of seats Illinois has in the House of Representatives. Please be aware that on July 30, 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau launched their Non-Response Follow-Up Phase, during which enumerators visit households that have yet to respond, and will continue until the fall. An enumerator can be identified by their official Census Bureau ID badge, bag or laptop, and letter. They will never ask to enter your home and will only ask questions that appear on the official census form.
