"The ranch was in trouble. The cost of caring for the animals was too high, and they needed a plan to save it.”
Ken said, "We can’t let this place close! There has to be something we can do."
Missy sighed, "But what? We don’t have money, and Dad says we can’t take in more animals unless we find a way to afford it."

"Then, Brooke had an idea.”
Brooke gasped, "Look at this! People love books about animals. What if we write a book about Brite Star Ranch?"
Whit nodded, "We could tell our story— about rescuing animals and all the critters here!"
Nana smiled, "That’s a wonderful idea! A book could help raise money and teach people why this ranch is so special."

"The girls got to work, writing down everything they loved about the ranch.”
Sam said, "We have to include Mr. Rodgers and his rescue story!"
Missy added, "And Waddles the duck! He’s practically famous around here."
Ken nodded, "We need to make it fun but also show why the ranch is important."

"Each sister had a job—Ken wrote, Brooke edited, Sam came up with ideas, and Whit drew pictures.”
Nana beamed, "You girls are amazing! This book is going to be something special."
Mr. G chuckled,
"I don’t know much about writing books, but I do know that hard work pays off."

"Even the animals seemed excited about the book!”
Missy laughed, "Mr. Rodgers, you’re the star of the book! What do you think?" Mr. Rodgers snorted and nodded, as if giving his approval.

"Now, they had to figure out how to print and sell the book.”
Sam asked, "Mrs. Thompson, do you think people in town would buy our book?"
Mrs. Thompson smiled, "Oh, I know they would! And I can help you find a local printer to make copies."

"With the help of the town, the first copies of Brite Star Ranch: A Safe Place for Animals were printed.”
Whit gasped, "Wow!
It’s real! Our book is real!"
Missy nodded, "Now
we just have to sell them."

"The town was excited! People lined up to buy a book and support the ranch.”
Nana smiled,
"Look at all these people! You girls really made something special."
Tom
added, "The ranch animals will be safe, thanks to you!"

"The book was selling well, but they still needed more money to save the ranch.”
Sam sighed, "We
made a lot, but it’s not enough yet."
Ken thought for a moment, "We need a bigger plan. Maybe we can sell it online?"

"The sisters expanded their reach by selling the book online.”
Brooke said, "This way, people outside of Brite Star can help too!"
Whit nodded, "We’ll reach more people, and the animals will have the support they need."

"Soon, orders started coming in from across the country.”
Missy gasped, "People
from all over are buying our book!"
Sam grinned, "This might
actually work!"

"The girls knew they had to keep going. This was just the beginning.”
Missy
said, "We’re not giving up. We’ll find a way to make this work."
Brooke
smiled, "If we can sell enough books, we can save the ranch for good!"
