Dayton ISD Spring Parent Night Dayton ISD parents received a plethora of helpful information Monday evening, in English and Spanish, courtesy of the school district, local vendors and the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. UIL District Literary Criticism Contest Saturday Liberty won its UIL District Literary Criticism Contest, a part of the Spring Academic Meet, held at Tarkington High School – making it the 10th District win in a row. placed third, and first year “LitCritter” Hudson Standish took fourth place. The team will compete in the Regional Meet on Saturday, April 20th in Brehnam Texas at Blinn College. We will compete as a team, and each student will compete individually as well. The first place team at Regional as well as the top three individuals will move on to the state competition in May which will

be held in Austin, Texas – we hope some or all are from Liberty. Camila Brady, our freshman alternate this year, has been an especially helpful part of our preparation. She attends every practice and is always smiliing in the wings just in case we need her to compete at the last minute. Congatulations to the 20122013 LHS Lit Crit Team!

Woodrow Wilson Jr High Pony Band Congratulations to the Woodrow Wilson Junior High Pony Band for their outstanding performance at the Blinn College Band Invitational. The band, comprised of mostly seventh graders and directed by Ms. Bettye Woods, received an overall rating of Excellent along with numerous complementary remarks from the adjudication panel.

Allstate Dual Ribbon Cutting in Dayton Allstate’s Kara Cormier A double chamber ribbon cutting was held Tues., March 19 for Allstate Insurance Agent Kara Cormier, located at 111. N. Main St., in Dayton. Kara Cormier, Agent, and Office Manager Joe Ann Tidwell cut the ribbon surrounded by friends, co-workers and members of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce and the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
