Cork Printing Inks

All printing inks that we supply for printing on corks are no dangerous preparations, thus they are not subject to special labelling according to Dangerous Substances Regulations. We do not use any raw material based on so-called toxic heavy metals such as antimony, arsenic, lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury, selen as well as PCB, PCT dioxines or similar harmful substances.

For further information please see attached Safety data sheet.

It can be assumed that because of their composition these inks are not dangerous to human health and not harmful to the environment when they are used and handled in a professional manner and according to the rules.

Fire fighting measures Suitable extinguishing agents: Alcohol resistant foam, C02, powders, water spray.

For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water jet.

Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or flue gases: Appropriate breathing apparatus may be required.

Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water.

Fire will produce dense black smoke.

Additional information: Collect run-off from fire fighting.

Accidental release measures Person-related safety precautions: Avoid breathing Refer to protective measures listed in section 7 and 8.

Ventilate the area.

Measures for environmental protection: If the product contaminates lakes and rivers or sewages inform respective authorities.

Do not allow to enter drains.

Measures for cleaning/collecting: Clean preferably with a detergent. Avoid use of solvents.

Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local regulations.

Handling and storage Handling Information for safe handling: Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in application area.

Avoid skin and eye contact.

Avoid breathing vapours.

Comply with health and safety at work laws.

Information about protection against explosions and fires: Clothes and rags contaminated with ink, lacquer or oxidatively drying oil may cause selfignition. Keep them in closed and fireproof containers.

Storage Requirements to be met by storerooms and containers: Keep container tightly closed.

No smoking.

Further information about storage conditions: Store in dry, well ventilated place.

Keep away from sources of heat and direct sunlight.

Store in accordance with the particular national regulations concerning water pollution.

Personal protective equipment Protection of hands: Barrier creams may help to protect the exposed areas of the skin, they should however not be applied once exposure has occurred.

Toxicological information The Preparation is classified according to the conventional method (calculation method of the EC-directive 88/379/EEC).

The liquid splashed in the eyes may cause irritation and reversible damage.

Repeated or prolonged contact with the preparation may cause removal of natural fat from the skin resulting in non-allergic contact dermatitis.

Other information The information of this MSDS is based on the present state of our knowledge and on current EEC and national laws.

It is always the responsibility of the user to take alle necessary steps in order to fulfil the demands laid down in the rules and legislation.

The information in this MSDS is meant as a description of safety requirements of our product; it is not to be considered as a guarantee of the product’s properties.

The printing inks are based on vegetable rawmaterials and contain no mineral oil. The used pigments are in compliance with the IX recommendation of the BGA (now BgVV) of materials intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.

The information of the MSDS are valid only for the fresh ink and not the dried printed ink.

The products will be delivered by identified batches.
