From Faaborg harbour, drive west to the first roundabout. Take the third road to Kildetoften. A little way along, turn left onto Bjernevej. At Bjerne Langgyde turn left, and where the road divides, continue to the right.

Dyreborg You pass through Dyreborg Forest, which is a former deer park, before moving on to the small idyllic fishing village of Dyreborg. Continue along the harbour and drive along Dyreborgvej. A short distance outside Dyreborg lies a summer house area, Drejet, with probably the area’s best public beach. Continue on Dyreborgvej and turn left onto Knoldsborgvej. Follow Sinebjergvej on the right towards Horne through Bjerne.

Horne church In Horne it is possible to visit Funen’s only round church, built by Valdemar the Great around 1170. It is also Funen’s largest village church, which in former times was the home church for the huge feudal estate ”Brahesminde” in the time of the Empire. This is also where the movie ”Adam’s Apples” was filmed. Continue past the church along Søren Lundsvej and left on Vesterballe towards Egsmark and left on Egsgyden with a beautiful view of the sea and Lyø. There is also a public beach (stone) at Horne Sommerland, a summer house area (turn down Lyøvej). Continue straight out of Egsgyden, further along Sønder Hjørnevej.

Bøjden Nor

Just before reaching Bøjden, from where the ferry goes to Als, turn left onto the dirt road towards Bøjden Nor, an area with a bird sanctuary. You can walk down a path down to two viewing towers. Drive back along the gravel road and then turn left towards Bøjdenlandevej, turn right and drive along the road until you reach Almarksvej. Turn right. At Egsgyden turn left, and you drive along until you reach Egsgyden 19.

Here you turn right and follow the gravel road which becomes the Præstegyden until you reach Tværgyden. Then follow a new dirt road, Tåstebjerggyden to Sinebjergskov. From Sinebjergvej over Knoldsborgvej, the trip along Bjernevej returns to Faaborg.
