#Inhobbok - Valentine's in Gozo

Page 1

Valentine’s In Gozo History and legends have a way how they link themselves with today’s world. The ancient author Homer chose to depict Gozo as the romantic island of Calypso to the mythical narration of Odysseus falling in love while in captivity. All the way from the ancient Greek literature, Gozo still cherishes the panoramic Calypso’s cave, inspiring visitors to the modern Valentine’s day celebrations. The date kick starts the island’s all year cultural calendar for 2019, setting the pace for the Gozo Ministry to organise a varied list of thematic festivals throughout the year. We are fully geared up to promote the island as an all-year round distinct destination to visitors. We welcome you all to join in the popular events that celebrate the love for culture through purposely set up venues around Gozo, starting with St Valentine’s Day during the first weeks of February. So come and join the charming events to celebrate love and romance in idyllic Gozo for Valentine’s day! Hon. Dr Justyne Caruana Minister for Gozo

Gozo The mythical island of Ogygia, where the nymph Calypso captivated Ulysses with her magic for seven long years to make him fall in love with her awaits to exude its loving spell once more this coming festival of love – Valentine’s day.
