hen the calendar turns to spring, people in Lackawanna County, PA, start getting excited about the RailRiders returning to town. The SWB RailRiders, a member of Minor League Baseball’s International league, are the Triple A baseball franchise for the New York Yankees. The 2016 National Champions boast one of the best records over the past 5 years, as the SWB RailRiders have fueled the Yankees resurgence. As the Bronx Bombers look to once again win the World Series, Lackawanna County’s own “Baby Bombers” are developing the talent that will keep New York in the hunt for a championship for years to come. Lackawanna County’s hometown team has hosted some of the biggest names on the Yankees roster. Players like Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird, and Luis Severino called Lackawanna County home while they honed their skills. Additionally, the RailRiders have had some of the Yankees’ biggest legends 2
either play or make a promotional appearance at PNC Field, including: Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Mariano Rivera, and Reggie Jackson. The SWB RailRiders Organization prides itself on offering family-friendly, affordable, entertainment. Their schedule is packed with fun promotions, theme nights, celebrity appearances, giveaways, and fireworks nights. Located at the base of Montage Mountain, in Moosic, PA, the SWB RailRiders call beautiful PNC Field home. Loaded with fun for the whole family, PNC Field is a “must see” for anyone visiting Lackawanna County. You don’t have to love baseball to have an amazing time at PNC Field.
