The weather outside might get frightful, but winter in Lackawanna County is always delightful! Whether you're an outdoorsman, a skier, or a family looking for the perfect Rockwellian holiday experience, we are your ultimate winter destination. Hunters can pursue the elusive Pennsylvania whitetail on our pristine public game lands, while anglers can enjoy some of the best ice fishing in PA. Families can go ice skating, sleigh riding, and cross-country skiing at our beautiful parks, or ski, snowboard, and snow tube at Montage Mountain Resorts. No matter the winter sport, Lackawanna County is where your next great adventure can be found. As the holidays approach, Lackawanna County transforms into a winter wonderland. Join Santa on a train or trolley ride, buy unique presents from local artisans at the Lackawanna Winter Market, and see the frozen masterpieces at the Clarks Summit Festival of Ice. In winter, Lackawanna County is the place to go, so let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, but there’s no place like Lackawanna County to get you in the holiday spirit. The Electric City kicks it up a few watts with beautiful light displays and events. From one end of the county to the other, you will find sights, sounds, and holiday fun that would make Charles Dickens proud.
