BEACH SAFETY Enjoy our beautiful beaches safely - swim between the flags on patrolled beaches and follow the instructions and advice of the surf lifesavers on duty. Red and yellow flags are used to indicate the safest patrolled swimming area.

SUN SAFETY The Australian sun can be harmful – cover up and protect yourself against UV rays. Surf lifesavers on the beach always have a ready supply of sunscreen if needed.

TIME ZONE Australian Eastern Standard Time is GMT plus 10 hours. Daylight saving is not observed in Queensland.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS All international visitors require a valid passport. All travellers to Australia, other than Australian and New Zealand citizens, are required to obtain a visa to travel to Australia. Brisbane Airport Brisbane Airport (BNE) is Queensland’s domestic and international gateway, with over 610 flights on average departing and arriving daily. There are a number of transfer services between Brisbane Airport, Noosa and the Gympie region. Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort Lady Elliot Island has its own airstrip with daily scenic flight transfers from Bundaberg (30mins), Hervey Bay (40mins) , Brisbane (80mins) and the Gold Coast (100mins).

CARLO SAND BLOW (PART OF THE COOLOOLA GREAT WALK) A popular spot for hang gliders with spectacular 360 degree views. Also close by you can kayak with dolphins, learn to surf, try stand up paddling or kitesurfing in pristine natural surrounds.

GREAT BEACH DRIVE Experience the freedom and exhilaration of driving miles and miles on white sandy beach. The Great Beach Drive connects Noosa to Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island providing some of the worlds most dramatic scenery including stunning beaches, idyllic National Parks and World Heritage-listed area.

HAND FEED DOLPHINS Hand feed the rare Indo Pacific Humpback Dolphins in the town of Tin Can Bay, one of the few places in Australia where dolphins can be hand fed in their natural environment.

HORSE RIDING ON THE BEACH The experienced and the beginner horse riders can enjoy riding on Noosa North Shore, Rainbow Beach, the shallow waters of Lake Weyba, or extended horse riding tours through hinterland trails.
