THE MOOD LYNDHURST Design Agency / THEO TEXTURE
This project was to demolish the existing 6-storey walk-up buildings on a small urban commercial site of just under than 2000SF, and to redevelop into what is known as THE MOOD Lyndhurst, a 23-storey LEED silver-certified boutique hotel. The exterior of the building is cladded with white organic cellular shapes embedded with seven “flower” features, just like a Chinese “Cheongsam” dress with large floral patterns draped over the building. "Flower" being the underlying theme is taken from the name of the street known in Chinese as "Bai Fa Street" or "street full of flowers."

SULWHASOO FLAGSHIP STORE Design Agency / Neri&Hu Design and Research Office
The literal and mythological meaning of the lantern is highly significant throughout Asian history — it leads you through the dark, showing you the way and indicating the beginning and end of a journey. Neri&Hu’s radical transformation of an existing five storey building in Seoul, South Korea, into a grand flagship store for leading Asian skincare brand Sulwhasoo is inspired by these notions of the lantern. The building was designed by Korean architect IROJE and built in 2003. Celebrating the roots of the brand, Neri&Hu wanted to develop a concept with strong connections to Asian culture and traditions, ultimately allowing customers to discover the wealth of Asian wisdom that underpins the Sulwhasoo ethos.

The device is made up of metal frames and a large number of irregular curved steels, between blends and conflicts, there would come into being various function spaces, such as entrance, desktop or seat area, visitors could feel free to imagine the meaning of various shell functions. By transparent film folding repeatedly, form the dynamic tension. Large-radian curves, base, silk stroking and weaving, achievement a space with flexible functions. This is not so much a construction process as a show of Behavior art.

Craft ¡ Shed Craft: Construct with wall of stone The site is located on a steep hill adjacent to the ocean. The excavated stones from the site are utilized as building walls. Surrounded by the serene beauty of mother nature, we have chosen a least invasive design that satisfies the basic shelter and food preparation needs. The interior consists only of cooking and sleeping areas. The spaces are defined by accordion glass doors, allowing light and air to flow freely throughout. Shed, a simple and minimalist living space, contains within itself endless possibilities through a carefully constructed symbiosis with the surrounding nature.
