UGAR LAND – Early voting and its significance was greatly stressed upon by Sugar Land Council Member Harish Jajoo who spoke at the Meet and Greet event held on Sunday, April 27 at the Udipi Indian Restaurant in support of Dr. Ramesh Cherivirala, candidate running for Fort Bend ISD Trustee Position #1. One of the organizers, Dr. Keyur Patel, states “it’s amazing to see the multitude of specialists come here and offer their expertise.” Over 100 health care professionals like pediatricians, gynecologists, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, dentists and orthopedics were on hand for examinations and consultations. Saturday’s health fair drew in close to 1500 individuals that took advantage of variety of tests from free physical examinations, dental screenings, vision screenings and some at very nominal costs, such as an echocardiogram or an executive blood analysis. KP George grew up in a tiny village in South India. He began his education learning the local language, walking barefoot to get to school. Even as he did his homework in his straw hut by the light of a kerosene lamp and helped his parents farm before and after school, KP dreamed of achieving
His hard work propelled him out of the poverty of his hometown. He arrived in the U.S. in 1993 to work for a financial firm, and has since earned multiple financial certifications and licenses. KP currently owns and manages an independent financial planning practice with 6 other advisors.
Academies’ Booster Club in 2013, and currently serves as its president. He has also served local Indo-American groups at high levels, worked with the Sugar Land Rotary Club, and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, and is also currently a member of the FBISD Parents Advisory Team and State Elections Policy & Affairs Team for TX Rep Rick Miller.
