Take up the Cross

This cross represents Jesus sacrificing His life for us. There is a commanding strength and courage that the cross shows us. The fire is embedded into the wood of the cross - a burning love for God’s children, a sacred sacrifice that only Jesus could carry out for us. The direction of the cross points towards our path. When we pick up the cross and lay our life down for Jesus, our path becomes clear. Our heavenly Father highlights our way. He acknowledges our own sacrifice and honors it. The peace of the olive branch surrounds our journey, binding and securing us in His love. The fruit is ripe for the harvest. The crown of thorns is at the base of the cross. “It is finished.”

By Jesus dying for us, He left us the gifts of the Holy Spirit. So we have the infilling of the Holy Spirit, the fire of the Holy Spirit. The olive branch is the peace of the Holy Spirit. The peace surrounds us just as the crown of thorns surrounds us, representing Jesus’ almighty love and sacrifice. The gentleness of the teardrop represents the heartache Jesus felt - He shed His tears for us willingly to set us free.

Step out and pick up the cross and follow the path God has planned for you, and His glory will shine and highlight your path.
