Hello to all. You may have noticed we had some minor technical glitches with the club magazine last month and for those who actually read my presidents report it may have seemed a little like ground hog day. Aside from these minor glitches I am sure you would agree that the April Deluxe Magazine was a great read and an excellent first Wagensville Deluxe edition published by our new editor Lawrence Lee. We have been very busy over the past couple of months with the Kennet River Camp Out, VW Jamboree, VWʼs on the Bridge and the 2010 Bug In all happening and providing us with plenty of options to get those VWʼs out of the shed and into the sunshine. The 2010 VW Jamboree was a great day, weather was kind and we saw a fine array of VWʼs and one or two from another fine German automobile maker on display. The day was very laid back with some fine tunes being cranked out by the Voodoo Swamp Cats. Organisers Jodi, Nathan and Anthony have big plans for Jambo 2011 so stayed tuned. Over the Easter long weekend I joined many of our club members and accepted the invite from Volks Club Bendigo to be part of VWʼs on the Bridge. This was a VW vehicle display on Bridge Street Bendigo and was a program item in the Bendigo Easter festivities. Both VW Club Vic and Volks Club Bendigo members also had VWʼs included in the
2010 will be Sunday the 21st of November. Mark the date in your calendars. Committee positions – I wrote in previous reports that we will be talking a bit about the clubs committee and the various committee positions. Our Annual General Meeting and the election of committee members is still a long way out, however we are keen to help prospective new committee members understand the various positions and ideally bring some new blood and fresh ideas into the running of this great club. If you are interested in being part of the committee please feel free to contact myself or any of the committee members to discuss. No update on Vic Roads Club Permit scheme for this month. Submissions from Vic Car clubs are still under consideration. We will continue to keep our VW Club Vic membership posted on updates to the 90/45 days scheme over the coming months. Donʼt forget that the May General meeting is on Tuesday the 25th of May at Bells Hotel. We will have a special guest speaker from a well know auction company to tell us about buying and selling cars at auction. See you all at a VW event real soon, Cheers Dean Holden - VWCV President
Torchlight and Easter Monday parades. These VWʼs were either part of a VW vehicle float, transporting dignitaries or, in the case of a selection of open top VWʼs, transporting past Bendigo Popular Girls. Also happening over Easter was the 2010 Bug Inn held at Stanthorpe Qld. Reading posts seen on a number of VW forums in the past couple of weeks we believe this event was a great success. We hope to bring you a full report on the 2010 Bug In very soon. We have the VW Concourse on Sunday the 30th of May at the Moorabbin Air Museum. Club members entered in the Concourse will have their entry fee into the museum payed for by the club. The team at the Air Museum have kindly allowed the VW Club Vic to display a limited number of VWʼs entered in the VW Concourse to park in amongst the outdoor vintage aircraft displays. This will provide some one off opportunities to get some great pictures for some lucky club members. There is a BBQ we can use on site, so bring along a picnic lunch. Day of the VW 2010 – late breaking news on our big day is that we are returning to the Yarra Glen Racing Club for this yearʼs event. The available space and facilities out at the Yarra Glen Racing Club has been upgraded and enlarged, so we look forward to a having a great DotVW amongst all that the Yarra Valley provides. Date for the Day of the VW
