After the main restaurant closes, the fun continues. You can enjoy eating at the Tiki Bar the rest of the day and into the night. The main dining area is very warm and welcoming. You can also dine outside on the patio. Then you have Mango’s Drunken Parrot Tiki Bar on the Ocean. The Tiki Bar is a full liquor bar that serves any menu item to you from the restaurant. There are special events at the Tiki Bar, like their famous Oyster Roasts and Clam Bakes. They also have live entertainment, weather permitting. Mango Sun Beach side is located at the famous Perry’s Resort in beautiful Daytona Beach Shores. Perry’s opened it’s doors in 1941 by the Perry family. They have held that family feeling for tourists and beach goes through many generations of guests. Mango Sun has catering on site for any type of party, celebration, business function, even family reunions. Mango’s Banquet Room and Restaurant are available after hours for your event or party. They can seat up to 70 people at either dining room. Jim Brittian is no stranger to the restaurant business. He has held every position in the industry and is a veteran restaurateur for over 25 years. The expansive menu consists of everything from Eggs Benedict to Wings and Wraps. The Angus Burgers are outstanding, Every item is made fresh to order or made fresh daily. Their award winning Clam Chowder is a meal by itself. his Months Chef feature is about the Pizza King Pizzeria on Daytona Beach’s Famous Boardwalk, and Chef, Entrepreneur, Steve Petras. Steve’s smiling face is one of the most recognizable faces in town. The Pizza King Pizzeria story is about Steve, and his history in our town, his success with The Pizza King Pizzeria and the Venice Italian Restaurant. In 1958, Steve was a young man living in Chicago, Ill. friends of his from Daytona Beach invited him to visit the beach. Being born and raised on a Greek isle, the beautiful Florida coast reminded him of his childhood. He soon decided to make Daytona Beach his home. Soon thereafter, he seized an opportunity to purchase a Boardwalk snack bar. This would be converted to the first pizzeria restaurant directly on the World’s Most Famous Beach. In 1969 the Pizza King was rebuilt and turned into a two story building with seating for over 100 customers and an amusement arcade in the upstairs. Even in the old snack Bar, Steve had people coming from all over to get his Pizza and Steak Subs. With this new Restaurant, the people who once went to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami had now found Daytona. The Northern people from Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama had found the Boardwalk and the Collage Kids were going crazy to get to Daytona anyway they could, Cars, Bus, Planes,

Daytona Beach and the Boardwalk was the place to be. Visitors soon learned that the Boardwalk was like no other place, you could run into your Doctor, Lawyer, Priest or an Executive from a top corporation. Steve’s Pizza King added many choices of great food on the menu for the Boardwalk and the business kept on growing. While running the Pizza King with the help of family members which came from Greece and New York, Steve decided to fulfill his lifelong dream of a beautiful full service restaurant. In 1972, his dream started to become a reality, when they broke ground to start to build the Venice Restaurant on South Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach Shores. After this beautiful building was finished, it was something like Daytona had not experienced. The interior was like spending a lovely evening in Italy. Pictures, table linens, imported wall coverings and fine tables and chairs completed the look. The Venice quickly earned a name for being the only table side service restaurant in Daytona. If you ordered a Caesar Salad, Steve would personally go to your table with his cart and make your salad as you watched. He also was always adding new dishes on the menu for his customers. The Venice was the first restaurant that had the open kitchen concept so the customers could actually see the Chefs cooking. Word spread fast about the great food and peoples comments in the guest book were great. Race time came, and the Venice got an International reputation from Racers and fans alike. Two years after being open, Steve added a large Cocktail Lounge with a dance floor. This addition brought top name entertainment to the area. From 1974 to 1997 the Venice was presented the Award for Excellence in Service. After 24 years, Steve closed the Venice and returned to the Pizza King Pizzeria on the Boardwalk. Steve is still selling Pizza to this day. Steve has made a lot of people smile in our town and still does. Originally from Amherst, Ohio, she has made Florida her home. She, like many, is a self taught bartender. Our favorite kind! Kimmy has a great local following that she loves dearly and considers all of them family! She claims, “I enjoy my job because I love listening to peoples unique stories. I love bartending in Daytona Beach because I have the opportunity to always meet new and interesting people from all over the world! “ Away from work, she loves gardening, going to the beach, enjoying her pool and traveling. One of her favorite drinks to make, is the “ Wild Orchid.“ Here is how you make it at home. Start with an 8 oz glass filled with ice ( or it can be served as a shot ) add 1 1/2 oz. of Malibu Rum, 1/2 oz of Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur, fill with Pineapple juice, garnish with an orange slice and enjoy. Owner’s Matt and Brandi Howell’s story started 5 years ago when they opened Lost Lagoon near downtown New Smyrna Beach on North Dixie Freeway. It started out as a hole in the wall that could hold about 35 people. They had a vision of making everyone feel like family with a warm greeting of “Aaaaay” when you walked in the door, then followed up with friendly service, and great fresh food. Their claim to fame is their 9oz hand pattied Black Angus Burger, that they cook to perfection and serve 16 different ways. Their wings are of equal quality using only fresh, never frozen, Jumbo wings cooked to order everytime making them the best wings you’ve ever tasted. As time went on and the word got out about this great little place it was time to start looking for a larger location. Just up the road a larger facility became available, It was time to move! About 7 months ago they relocated in front of the New Smyrna Beach Airport on North Dixie Freeway (US 1) with astounding success. With 175 seats in the dining room, and the bar room and 22 stools at their full service Bar, HDTV’s throughout the the restaurant. Not to mention a large pet friendly deck and picnic tables in the yard area. They have something to offer for everyone’s dining style. The atmosphere is fun, warm, and welcoming with their same delicious pub style
food provided by their loyal Kitchen manager, Chrissy who has been with them from from almost the beginning with a larger kitchen and more staff she has been adding delicious specials everyday.
