Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea At Collins Square


Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea Collins Square is proud to be in partnership with the Cancer Council for the fourth consecutive year to deliver Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. This year, contemporary Indigenous Artist Peter Farmer was commissioned to paint a Cancer Council teacup in the center of Collins Square for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. Peter Farmer is one of Western Australia’s most renowned Aboriginal artists, with works in the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the National Gallery of Australia, the British Museum and a myriad of local & international galleries & collections that include Vasse Felix, the Berndt Museum & Perth’s sister City of Kagoshima. Peter holds a Contemporary Aboriginal Arts Degree and completed a Bachelor of Visual/Fine Arts in 2001.



With help from his wife Miranda, the installation ran from Monday 16th - Wednesday 18th May.


The Artwork “On each side are the Five Kulin Nations (Aboriginal Language Groups in Victoria). The colour palette was made up of muted pastels to represent healing All surrounding Port Phillip Bay, the lines or Biddi’s are roads or paths that represent journeys to good health & healing.”
