Getting to Parramatta Square Take advantage of the full range of transport options available to get you in and out of Parramatta Square quickly and easily. How can I commute to Parramatta Square? Trains, buses and the Parramatta RiverCat provide flexibility and choice in public transport, while major road connections, ample parking and an expanding cycle network offers convenient private transport options. Train There are connections directly into the western concourse of Parramatta Station, which links you to locations all around metro Sydney. It is approximately a 30-minute ride from Sydney’s Town Hall to Parramatta. There are also stations at nearby Harris Park and Westmead. Bus Numerous bus services operate to and from Parramatta Bus Interchange on Smith Street, which is directly adjacent to Parramatta Station. Bus routes connect Parramatta with Sydney destinations such as Castle Hill, Hornsby, Ryde, Strathfield and Sydney City Centre. The following bus routes are available: • No. M52 - Operates from Circular Quay Station • No. N60 - Operates from Town Hall Station • No. 550 - Operates from Macquarie Park City Shuttle Bus The Parramatta Shuttle Bus (formerly The Loop) is a fast, free transport solution, which operates on a continuous loop starting from George Street near Centenary Square. The service runs every 10 minutes, 7 days a week and takes 25 minutes to complete. Highlights along the route include Parramatta Wharf, Phillip Street and O’Connell Street. Just look out for the bright green bus! Ferry The Parramatta River Ferry terminal is a 10-minute walk from Parramatta Square and is located at the end of the Parramatta River. Ferries run from Circular Quay to Parramatta and can be completed in under an hour. • Route F3 – From Circular Quay to Parramatta Wharf
Bike To cater to the growing demand of cyclists, Parramatta Square includes End-of-Trip facilities at the basement mezzanine level. There are multiple bike paths available for easy access to and from Parramatta Square. • Parramatta Valley Cycleway - 18km-track from Parramatta to Sydney Olympic Park, starting at Morrison Bay Park in Ryde, through to Ermington Nature Reserve and along the river foreshore to the Parramatta CBD • Subiaco Creek Link - a new high-quality 20km riverfront path away from traffic between Parramatta Park and Sydney Olympic Park Car Access to Parramatta Square by car could not be easier from the M4 Western Motorway. There are parking stations around Parramatta, many of which offer pre-booking discounts. There are also free street parking spots in the city. The closest car parks are: • Secure Parking, 10 Valentine Avenue • Secure Parking - Lang Centre Car Park, 132 Marsden Street • Wilson Parking, 1 Fitzwilliam Street Taxi The Kiss and Ride rank and ride-share (Uber/Taxi) drop off points are provided along the southern entrances of 4 Parramatta Square on Darcy Street. These are within close proximity to the Parramatta Bus Interchange and Parramatta Station.
Future Transport Upgrades NSW Government’s commitment to enhancing the connectivity of east and west Sydney is underpinned in its investment to cater for increased efficiency and improved commute times, making Parramatta the best connected workplace in Sydney. Light Rail The $2.4 billion Parramatta Light Rail, which will run down Macquarie Street on its way through the CBD, is scheduled for completion in 2023 in line with the completion of the Parramatta Square development. Construction on Macquarie Street is underway. Heavy Rail Direct connection to the $15-billion Sydney Metro West connection - Sydney’s newest underground metro railway, the Metro West connection will provide a 20-minute commute from Parramatta to the Sydney CBD. Parramatta Civic Link (Horwood Place Works) City of Parramatta Council are currently developing a pedestrianised and cyclable Civic Link, which extends across four city blocks through the heart of the Parramatta CBD, connecting Parramatta Square and the transport interchange to River Square, the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) and the broader foreshore precinct.
