You may also access the Web site at www.The-W.org to print a registration form. As we continue to thaw from a cold, snowy winter, it’s exciting to look ahead to what promises to be a fun and activity-filled, spring and summer. We here at The W are looking forward to another program-packed next few months. This brochure includes the details of the many programs available to youth and adults of all ages, interests and abilities. In my family, my wife and four children are excited about participating in a number of the program offerings and even more excited that many of them involve getting outdoors and enjoying the warmer weather. One great feature at The W is that even on days when the weather may not allow us to be outside, we will simply move programs indoors rather than cancel. Last year, we were able to move programs such as tennis, soccer, minor league baseball, and Tee Ball inside on days when the weather was bad. There really is a place for everyone at The W. Although many youth in our community are involved in AAU and similar programs, we believe it is important to offer activities at the recreational level, allowing children of all abilities and income levels to participate in fun, safe, and educational programs. There are a wide range of opportunities for both children and adults for you to read about in the following pages, so sign up for a program you enjoyed last year or try something totally new that sparks your interest. Registration is easy. Simply go to www.the-w.org/rec.html and register online or fill out the registration page in this brochure and drop it off at The W. If you have any questions or need help registering please call us at 319-352-8716. If you have any questions or suggestions for new programs, don’t hesitate to contact us. E-mail us at thew@wartburg.edu or call 319-352-8726. We are excited to offer all of the outstanding programs and opportunities outlined in the following pages and are looking forward to seeing you and your family around the facility participating. There is a place for everyone at The W! Hope to see you soon. Sincerely, Doug Frazell Assistant Director for Community Recreation
Permission for Medical Treatment Upon registering for any Community Recreation program or activity, it is assumed that in the case of a parent’s or guardian’s absence or unavailability, The W staff is authorized to arrange whatever medical treatment is considered necessary for the minor child enrolled in the activity.
