STEWART FRANCIS

THE ARMED MAN

ALFIE BOE

To say Canadian comedian Stewart Francis has been embraced in Britain is something of an understatement. Outstanding in his field of killer one-liners, the star of Mock The Week, Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow and Live At The Apollo embarks on a brand-new tour with a fantastic and hilarious new show packed full of as many jokes as Stewart can manage!

The English Philharmonia and Chorus, under the baton of conductor Graham Wili, present three dramatic and contrasting works. The Armed Man: A Mass For Peace, by Karl Jenkins, is a profoundly moving choral work, currently the most performed piece of classical music. It captured the public’s imagination on its release (the day before 9/11) and its popularity continues to increase. The Lark Ascending (Vaughan Williams), with its soaring violin solo, has proved itself to be one of the nation’s classical favourites. Chris Williams’ lively Gloria completes a programme that is both contrasting and complementary.

Accompanied by his superb band, Alfie performs at the Colosseum following the phenomenal success of his two latest albums Bring Him Home and Alfie. This is a very special opportunity to hear one of the finest, most powerful and versatile voices of our time.

DEATH TO THE COME DIE HIGHEST BIDDER WITH ME

HI-DE-DIE!

A death in the family can be heart-breaking. But heartstopping? That’s a different matter. When famous Egyptologist Giles FotheringSmythe dies suddenly the verdict on the cause is unanimous: The Pharaoh’s Curse finally came true! But who will inherit the curse now the old man is dead? Tonight you’ll find yourself bidding in an auction of promise to find out. Dare you bid again for the answer or will it see you going, going, gone!

For comedian Gordon St James, Mudlins Holiday Camp was the last place he thought he’d die on stage. But for one night only Gordon and his mismatched comedy stooge Cyril are going to go out with a bang! East End Gangsters, Swinging Sixties dolly-birds and the oldest living ‘Yellow Coat’ will keep this mystery rocking till the tide goes out. But who committed the crime of Murder? It’ll be up to you to investigate and find the answer.

If the price is right… you might just survive!

The rules were simple: You must be strangers. You will eat everything prepared. Justdesserts will be served cold. The year is 1946 and post-war Britain is learning to live again. In Kensington, London, a newspaper headline challenged us to “Know your neighbour”. A prize will be awarded by the newspaper editor to whoever reports the most entertaining meal. JOAN ARMATRADING

LEVEL 42

SALLY MORGAN

Recognised as one of the world’s leading singer-songwriters, three-times Grammy nominated and Ivor Novello awardwinner Joan Armatrading will be touring the UK. You’ll be guaranteed a fantastic mix of magical favourites such as Love and Affection, Drop the Pilot, Me, Myself I along with Joan’s new and exciting songs such as Starlight, from the album of the same name.

Level 42 took the 80s by storm with their brand of bass driven jazz funk that came from the underground soul scene of wedge haircuts, pegged trousers and sharp shoes. Their success in record and ticket sales is only half the story. The band left a legacy amongst a generation of 70s teenagers who saw there was life on the UK scene; their music has been regularly remixed and they continue to have their bass lines and keyboard melodies interpreted by present day acts.

Sally Morgan, Britain’s best loved celebrity psychic returns again to the Colosseum by overwhelming demand. Sally has used her gift over the years to help many people and her reputation has been built from her close relationship with many high-profile celebrities. Sally now brings her amazing abilities to the Colosseum with a unique theatrical experience, which is both hugely entertaining and enlightening.

Their hits include Running In the Family, Lessons In Love, Leaving Me Now, Hot Water and Something About You.

Sally Morgan is experimental/ investigational. There are no guaranteed or certain results and the show is for the purposes of entertainment.

Joan will be joined at the Colosseum by special guest, Chris Wood, winner of the Folk Singer of the Year and Best Original Track, Hollow Point at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2011.
