MEMBER OF THE MONTH Rayshon Akins is our Member of the Month for January! After a lengthy layoff, Ray made his season debut for Wayne State University Circle K International this January. In just a month and a half, Ray has attended several events, including LovePit, our February District event, and has already amassed enough points to be an active member for this year. In addition, his generous donation towards our 24 Hours of Service event will help make several pairs of shoes for Sole Hope. We would like to thank Ray for his tireless efforts and are so glad to welcome him back to our club!

Past Event Highlights
Detroit No. 1 Kiwanis 103rd Birthday Party Our parent organization, Detroit No. 1 Kiwanis just celebrated their 103rd Birthday Party at Greektown Casino! We would like to congratulate them on this tremendous achievement and look forward to working with them in the future on events centered around helping Detroit and the surrounding communities.
Books for Kids This event took place in the Milwaukee Junction neighborhood of Detroit, where the Books for Kids warehouse is located. Our members packed up books that would be donated by Kiwanis to various schools in the city of Detroit.
LovePit District Event “When we got there we broke off into our groups depending on the activity we registered for. Sam and I did outdoors/environment cleaning, and we rode with Circle K members from U of M, Northwood, and Grand Valley to this small adoption agency in Grand Rapids. The name of the facility was Greater Hope, and the founder wanted to introduce the agency to the neighborhood so we went door to door and shoveled the sidewalks and 3 people's driveways. Afterwards everyone met back at Grand Valley for food (yum!) and Nathan gave us all updates on DCON. -Ray
