The owners of Toro Bar fell in love with Bali since the first time they got here over 10 years ago. The only thing missing was an authentic tapas bar. As gastronomy lovers, they were conscious about the great amount of offers the island has, but felt the concept of “pica pica” was still missing in Bali. Hence, the introduction of TORO BAR. At TORO BAR you will have the chance
to taste tapas while indulging in a glass of wine or a good cold beer – you know, that “pica pica” concept. Dabble in small bites any time of day to the background beats of Spanish music. Toro Bar looks to move away from the conventional concept of a traditional sit-down dinner to a more flowing dining experience to be shared with friends at any time. With a Spanish chef who elaborates
simple traditional Mediterranean food, paired with local flavor, their daily selection of tapas varies according to the freshest food found in the market daily. From casual tapas with friends, or planning a catered event, Toro can bring its eclectic experience to your home. Remember they have a new “montadito” every day.
THE DUSTY CAFE The Dusty Cafe may be the smallest café to be spotted in Bali. Recently opened by a young Frenchman, Nicolas Vitetta, the design is inspired by classic French items such as big chandeliers. Also incorporating recycled elements as additional decor, hipsters find themselves right at home here at Dusty Cafe. Located just next to the bar Maria Magdalena in Jalan Camplung Tanduk, it serves a small menu of mostly healthy food, including sandwiches and salads. It was in Bali that Becky discovered the centuries-old technique that has come to be the signature of Anna Beck. Ornate yet classic, timeless but modern, this traditional metalwork produced pieces that Becky felt were truly distinctive. It wasn’t long before she found herself working with local artisans to create a line that fused contemporary designs with this ancient practice. Becky splits her time between Bali, where each Anna Beck piece is meticulously hand crafted, and Los Angeles, where the company is based. Her affection for Balinese people and culture, coupled with the island’s vibrant scenery, provides inspiration that she merges with the casual elegance of California style. The result is a unique mix evident in all of her designs.
Anna Beck is a contemporary jewelry collection that uses one of the oldest jewelry making techniques in the exotic Far East. Timeless necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and cuffs are handcrafted on the island of Bali. Each piece in the collection is layered with
tiny gold or silver disks, with each disk of precious metal individually cut and affixed to the metal base. The unusual style is made using one or more ancient Balinese techniques and gives Anna Beck’s classic styles added interest and excitement.
