English Touring Opera: Giulio Cesare

ETO return with one of Handel’s most celebrated works, Giulio Cesare, a majestic opera in which the characters are driven to extreme feelings and actions, and in which the music strikes the heart. A story of passion and revenge, featuring a treasure trove of great arias with immense dramatic intensity, the opera follows the events surrounding Julius Caesar’s conquest of Egypt, as well as his uneasy alliance and romance with fabled Egyptian queen, Cleopatra.

Performed on period instruments in partnership with the much-praised Old Street Band. The choir joining us will be: Circle Singers of Leamington Spa.

Lucrezia Borgia is a tragedy of great pathos. Donizetti created in Lucrezia one of his greatest roles - known as one of history’s most famous poisoners, she is a cunning strategist and a loving mother at the same time, a complex woman in a dangerous situation.

With 34 years experience as a senior detective, David shares his unique insight into the mind of a killer, the famous cases that were never solved, and how they got away with it.

Water is all around us at Leamington Spa

Art Gallery & Museum; the river Leam flows behind the building and water-based therapies were delivered at the Royal Pump Rooms for almost 200 years. Our link with water will be explored through a takeover of the main Art Gallery, which was built as a swimming pool in the 1860s and later became a hydrotherapy treatment room.

Objects and artworks from across the collection, including archival photographs, animation and a recent acquisition of swimming paintings by Jacqueline Morreau will be on display for a year. The exhibition will also include an immersive VR experience by RiVR.

Going Dutch: 17th–Century Paintings from the Collection

Temporary Exhibition Gallery, Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum

Colourful countryside scenes. Sumptuous Mediterranean views. Delicate depictions of everyday life. This is what inspired artists working during the 1600’s in the Netherlands.

See the Gallery’s collection of Dutch paintings on display together. Renowned masterpieces shine alongside lesser known works deserving of greater recognition.

These workshops

The exhibition will also explore the culture of copying that allowed for the widespread collecting of Dutch painting. There will be curator-led talks and in-gallery trails for adults and children. See the website for details.

The Royal Spa Centre and the Royal Pump Rooms are a 3-minute walk from each other, situated in the town centre of Leamington Spa.

Convenient parking options are: Multi-Storey: St. Peter’s car park (P3), CV32 5EL

On-street: Newbold Street, Newbold Terrace, Dormer Place

Pay & Display: Rosefield Street Surface car park (P7), CV32 4HN Coaches: There is a designated drop off point on Newbold Terrace

Blue Badge Holders: There are designated spaces directly outside both the Royal Spa Centre and Royal Pump Rooms.

Guide Dogs are welcome at both venues

Royal Spa Centre:

T The Main Stage is equipped with an infra-red hearing enhancement system for use with headsets or portable induction loops, which are available free of charge from the Box Office.

Wheelchair spaces are available and should be booked in advance by calling the Box Office.

There is a lift and accessible toilets on all floors.

Royal Pump Rooms: There is wheelchair access throughout the building, including toilets. The museum is on 2 levels, accessible by chairlift and stairs.
