We are Ibiza Magazine presenta su issue no13, donde podemos encontrar a Daria Dziecielewska una polifacética artísta, que nos hablará sobre su arte en varios sectores como pintura, fotografía y tatuajes.Como ya viene siendo de costumbre, contamos en la sección de moda con Ana Vide, que cada mes nos trae las últimas tendencias en moda femenina. En la sección de música tenemos el placer de entrevistar a Chelina Manuhutu y Eddy M, donde nos cuentan sus secretos más escondidos sobre la noche en Ibiza. July, the month in which Ibiza “opens its doors” to a new summer season. The island’s machinery has been suitably “oiled” and everything seems to adopt a warmer colour, with crystal clear beaches and the beauty of its party nights. We are Ibiza Magazine presents issue nº13, where we can find the multifaceted artist Daria Dziecielewska, who will talk to us about her art in different fields such as painting, photography and tattoo. As usual, Ana Vide takes over the fashion section, to bring us the latest trends in women’s fashion this month. For the music section we’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Chelina Manuhutu and Eddy M, who reveal their personal, most hidden secrets of Ibizan nights. de Ses Salines [eng] El flamenco es el ave más representativa del Parque Natural de Ses Salines. Entre los meses de agosto y octubre llegan centenares de ejemplares, y unos trescientos pasarán el invierno aquí. En febrero comenzarán a irse hacia la Laguna de Fuentepiedra (Málaga) o la Camarga francesa, donde existen las mayores colonias de cría de la especie en Europa. La mejor zona del Parque para observarlos son los estanques del Codolar, donde se concentran centenares de individuos, el estanque de Sal Rossa, Es Cavallet o el Estany Pudent. Los flamencos son aves muy sociales que crían en colonias, a veces muy numerosas. Su nido es una pequeña torre de lodo de unos 30 cm de altura, con una ligera depresión en la parte superior, donde depositan un solo huevo que queda protegido de las oscilaciones del nivel del agua. El macho y la hembra incuban el huevo y cuidan al pollo cuando nace. El pico del flamenco es un perfecto aparato de filtración. En aguas poco profundas, remueve el lodo del fondo, balanceando la cabeza y las patas. Al tiempo, se llena el pico de agua terrosa mezclada con pequeños invertebrados acuáticos que se quedan en la boca tras expulsar el agua con la lengua.

The flamingo is the most representative bird of the Natural Park of Ses Salines. Between the months of August and October, hundreds of these birds arrive, and some three hundred will spend the winter here. In February they begin to move towards the Lagoon of Fuentepiedra (Málaga) or the French Camargue, which has the largest breeding colonies of the species in Europe. The best part of the Park for viewing them are the lagoons of Codolar, where hundreds of birds congregate, the lagoon of Sal Rossa, Es Cavallet or the Estany Pudent. Flamingos are very social birds that breed in colonies, which are sometimes very numerous. Their nests take the form of a small tower of mud about 30 cm high, with a slight dip at the top, where they lay just one egg, which is protected from the variations in the water level. The male and female incubate the egg and look after the chick when it hatches. The flamingo’s beak is a perfect filtering tool. In shallow waters, it stirs up the mud from the bottom, rocking its head and feet. At the same time, it fills its beak with earthy water mixed with small aquatic invertebrates which remain in its mouth once it has expelled the water with its tongue.

aria Dziecielewska, nació el 21 de marzo de 1978 en Gniezno (Polonia), donde se crió rodeada de punk rock y la escena del Arte Underground de los años 80. Tras haber sido expuesta a tanta gente ecléctica, surgió la inspiración para seguir sus sueños y se matriculó en la famosa escuela de arte de Piotr Potworowski en Poznan. “Después de graduarse en la escuela de arte a la edad de 21 años, me fui de mi país para presentar mis obras a los amantes del arte en un nuevo país, Nueva Zelanda. Durante este tiempo, me dedicaba principalmente al trabajo creativo y frindde, el efecto de los cuales son numerosos retratos psicológicos de mis amigos que se presentan en una exposición final en la galería Dome. Aparte de ello, fui la co‐creadora de Wellington, el director del guión de la obra Lilith que interpretó uno de los papeles principales en los teatros del Fringe festival. En medio de estos proyectos artísticos, me ofrecieron trabajar como maquilladora de los elfos y enanos en la adaptación cinematográfica de "El Señor de los Anillos". Inspirada por los nuevos contactos y las lecciones y la experiencia obtenida durante el viaje, volví a mis raíces y creé un club nocturno de tres plantas, dedicándome a una de mis otras pasiones, que es la música electrónica. Después de cinco años de puro hedonismo y la satisfacción de las personas más inspiradas, me interesé por el arte del tatuaje. Esta nueva forma de arte me inspiró más que cualquier

género hasta la fecha y abrí mi primer estudio de tatuajes centrándome expresamente en ello perfeccionando mis habilidades. Sentí la transición del Arte Mainstream al arte del tatuaje muy estimulante pero a causa de mi éxito y el crecimiento de número de clientes, me di cuenta que el tatuaje no deja mucho tiempo para mi primer amor, que es el arte de la pintura. Con poco tiempo para continuar mi historia de amor con la pintura, me vi obligada a estudiar otras formas de explorar mi lujuria artística y descubrí una nueva musa en forma de fotografía. Con la nueva tecnología y el tiempo limitado debido a la carga de trabajo como tatuadora, empecé esta nueva etapa de arte más como un hobby hasta el momento que me contactaron de una de las galerías de arte de Milano. I was born on 21th of march 1978 in Gniezno Poland and I grew up surrounded by punk rock and the underground art scene of the 80s. Having been exposed to so many eclectic people this inspired me to follow my dreams and I enrolled in the famous art school of Piotr Potworowski in Poznan. After graduating from art school at the age of 21 I left my country to present my art to art lovers on distant continent..in New Zealand. During the time I spent there I was mostly devoted to creative and fridge work, the effect of which are numerous psychological portraits of my friends

presented on a final exhibition in a Dome gallery. Apart from this I was Wellingtons co creater the script director of the play Lilith and played one of the main roles in the theatres Fringe festival. In between these different artist projects I was offered was work as a make up artist of elves and dwarfs in the film adaptation of Lord of the Rings. Inspired by the new contacts and lessons and experienced learnt whilst travelling I returned to my roots and created a 3 story night club dedicated to one of my other passions electronic music. After 5 years of pure hedonism and meeting again inspiration people I became interested in the art of tattooing. This new art form inspired me more than any genre to date and I opened my first tattoo studio and focused solely only on this to make my skills perfect. I felt the transition of main stream art to tattoo art very inspiring but because of my success and growing client base I found that Tattooing didn’t leave much time for my first love in art of painting. So with less time on my hands to follow my love affair with painting I looked at other ways to explore my artist lust and discover a new muse in the form of photography. With new technology and a limited time due to my increasing work load as a tattoo artist I started this new art phase as more of a hobby until the moment when one of Milano art gallery’s contacted me.

on poca preparación y sin saber que iba a pasar, mis primeros trabajos fueron exhibidos en la galería Tatllulah durante la semana del diseño de Milán 2013. Sin saber que esperar pero sorprendida por la reacción del público a mis obras de arte, decidí crear más.¿Qué me inspira? Bueno, la vida... definitivamente los seres humanos, el interés. En la pintura estoy mostrando a mi misma mi supervivencia, mis sentimientos, emociones y visiones. Con la fotografía es más o menos lo mismo .Todo lo que siento, lo que veo y lo que sé. Estoy tocando temas religiosos y espirituales. Todo lo que creo es una parte de mí. Soy parte del mundo, pero cuanto más pienso y cuanto más reacciono a las situaciones en cuales me encuentro, llego a pensar que puede ser que sea un extraterrestre. No estoy segura de si se trata de una cuestión cultural, pero no veo más que la verdad a través de mi ojos que quiero expresar en mis obras, ya que me resulta más fácil para mostrar mis sentimientos a través del arte que a través de explicaciones. Con el tatuaje es un poco diferente. Es una forma de arte, pero más un oficio y una gran responsabilidad. Ya que no se puede borrar, tiene que ser preciso, reflejando la historia y la visión del usuario. Para algunas personas los tatuajes son solo líneas, sombras, colores y puntitos, pero para las personas que las llevan, es una historia. Debido a esto, los primeros años he ido dedicando en la técnica. En mi estudio no hay catálogos de diseños y pero realizamos trabajos personalizados. Sin

embargo, el mayor cumplido para mí es cuando el cliente y el artista entienden la historia y esa visión compartida se vea reflejada en la piel. La gratitud y el cumplido, es la confianza que han puesto en mí prestándome una parte de ellos y haber tenido la libertad de transferir los sentimientos que desean expresar, en arte. Es halagador cuando alguien lleva tu trabajo en su piel. Durante mi primera visita a Ibiza en 2008, noté una diferencia en mi ser y me sentí completamente relajada en el estilo de la vida hedonista que me permitió concentrarme y explorar de nuevo mis dotes creativos. Después de algunos años decidí trasladarme a Ibiza y cambiar mi vida por completo iniciando un proyecto nuevo “GALERÍA LA CURVA”. Un lugar donde todo tipo de arte están conectados al igual que yo, pinturas, fotografía, tatuajes, esculturas, performances, música, etc. La Curva nació de la pasión y la persistencia de muchos años y por el amor al arte. Gracias a estos atributos, La Curva y el Art Guide se han convertido en el hogar de muchos artistas de Ibiza, que ahora pueden mostrar a la comunidad y a los amantes de este sector que el arte está floreciendo de nuevo en Ibiza. Ahora he realizado mi sueño de convertirme en uno de los artistas con talentos múltiples más célebre y respetada, y de ser la voz que muchos artistas luchadores han estado esperando el momento de ser apoyados en su viaje artístico. Mi consejo... el único consejo que puedo dar es de trabajar persistente, haciendo tus sueños realidad para crear un mundo más bello.

ith little preparation and not knowing what to expect my first works were displayed in the Tatllulah gallery during the 2013 Milano design week in 2013. Not knowing what to expect but amazed at the reaction to me works I decided to create more. What inspires me? Well, life... deffinetly life humans, concerns. In painting i’m showing myself, my survival, feelings, emotions and visions. With the photography is more or less the same, everything what I feel, see that I know. Im touching religious and spiritual subjects. Everything what I create is a part of me. I Am part of the world, but more I think and the more I react to situations I am starting to think that I may be an alien. I’m not sure if it is a cultural thing but I see only truth through my eyes and I want to transfer this into art as for me I find it easier to show my feelings through art than by explanations. With tattooing is a bit diffirent. It’s a form of art but also a craft and a huge responsibility. You can’t simply rub it out, it needs to be precise and also show the story behind the wearers visions. To some people they are lines and shades, colours or dots but to the person they are a story. Because if this first years were dedicated on technique. In my studio there is not catalogues of designs but of course I performs work to the clients request but for me the greatest compliment is when the client and the artist both understand the story and the history and take the vision to the skin

The gratitude and the compliment is knowing I have been given a part of themselves and the freedom to put into art the feelings that they have. It is flattering when someone carries your work on their skin of the joy. On my first visit to Ibiza in 2008. Ive notice a difference in my being and felt completely relaxed in the hedonistic life style that allowed me to concentrate and for my creative juices to come alive again. After a few years I ve decided to move to Ibiza.. Change my life completely and start a new project “LA CURVA GALLERY”. A place which connect all kind of art just like me paintings, photography, tattoos, scelptures, pareformances, music, etc. La curva was born out of the passion and persistence of many years for the love of art and because of theses attributes la curva and the art guide has now become the home for many artists in Ibiza who now can show the Ibiza art loving community that art is flourishing once again in Ibiza. Now I have realised a dream to become on of Ibiza most celebrated and respected multi talented artists and a voice that many struggling artist have been waiting for to help them on their journey. Advice, the only one I can give to somebody is work hard, make your dreams come true and make this world more beautifull.

Hablamos con Eddy M, músico, dj y productor. ¿Cómo fueron tus comienzos en el mundo de la música?

EM-Buenas a todos, pues,exactamente en el

2004 con la edad de 12 años empece a tocar la batería y estudiar música en Sicilia en una escuela europea de Jazz\Funk\R&B\Soul en Palermo llamada “The Brass Group”. En esa escuela las clases eran super interesantes, trataban de música en todos sus aspectos, sobretodo la “Historia” desde el nacimiento de cada estilo, eso me formó mucho culturalmente y técnicamente. ¿Cómo definirías tu estilo musical?

em-Mi estilo musical es Tech-House con breaks Jazz\Funk\R&B\Soul style. En práctica estoy aplicando todo lo que estudié y pratiqué con mi querida batería en clave Tech-House y guiándome sobre la base teórico-histórica de cada estilo. Grabo yo mismo la mayoría de sonidos “rítmicos” del track como la voz e intento crear melodías que me den una sensación de felicidad y amor, que es lo que

en realidad necesita un artista para poder sacar cualquier obra de arte. ¿Qué te empujó a cambiar la batería por unos platos?

em-Después de 6 años de estudios y practicas descubrí de ser muy egoísta con la música, el tema de tocar la batería solo me limitaba mucho, he tocado también con bandas durante los estudios musicales, haciendo y ganando concursos que salían hasta en la TV en Italia, pero no me sentía bien conmigo mismo, me sentía muy limitado, como un pájaro en una jaula, tener mucha fantasía musical y deber estar debajo de las leyes duras del “pentagrama” no me dejaba sacar toda la fantasía musical que tenia a dentro. Sabia que en realidad un software de producción según mi caso de músico, podía dar mucho mas que una batería, lo que me daba miedo en realidad era deber anunciar mi cambio de destino. Dejé la escuela en Palermo justo el ultimo año, antes de completar los cursos y hacer los exámenes, hoy en día algunos profesores siguen sin hablarme por haber dejado justo al final y sobretodo

para dedicarme a la electrónica. No hay mucho feeling entre músicos de instrumentos y productores de música electrónica justo por eso creo y confío en que mi tipo de TechHouse al 50% debe siempre de tener sonidos literalmente reales, grabados con micrófonos. Gracias a dios tengo un carácter muy fuerte, cuando comenté los nuevos objetivos a mis padres después tantos sacrificios para poder sostenerme en las rentas de los estudio, reaccionaron con un poco de tristeza, es algo difícil de explicar. Ese momento lo tengo grabado y lo veo cada día, en cada sesión, cada vez que estoy en el estudio, es mi fuerza interior para poder enseñar que todo lo que estudié aunque sea DJ y Productor vale igualmente, muchas veces venimos infravalorados solo por ignorancia, hoy en día me siento músico y director de orquesta. Producir es algo impresionante,yo comparo la producción musical al universo. Es como el “8 al revés”. Sabiendo utilizar el software con una buena fantasía musical, un único cerebro, el cual tiene la posibilidad de juntar cualquier tipo de sonido y dar a la luz algo concreto e inmortal, trasmitiendo sentimientos.

¿Qué pensaste cuando te dijeron que ibas a tocar los sábados en Elrow de Space todo el verano y justo la última temporada antes de cerrar definitivamente?

muchos tracks sacados por sellos bastante conocidos y te has ganado el apoyo de grandes djs. ¿Qué crees que has debido hacer bien para ganarte estos reconocimientos?

em-Primero un enorme placer y al mismo tiempo muy triste. Pero cada ciclo tiene un inicio y un fin. Tener la posibilidad de marcar la ultima temporada de un club que existía ya desde antes de que yo naciera me pone los pelos de punta. Poder tocar todo el verano en Space sobretodo con una marca como Elrow, para mi y mis producciones sera una gran oportunidad que seguramente nunca olvidaré. Me siento muy afortunado sobretodo de estar trabajando con una “Row family” fantástica que me estado dando muchos input y posibilidades que gestionadas inteligentemente pueden dar resultados muy positivos para el crecimiento constante de mi perfil de artista, estoy trabajando mucho en el estudio y estoy contento también de mis nuevas producciones y de la ración del dancefloor, el 2 de Julio mi primera sesión en Space, ¡con muchas ganas!

Em-La respuesta la tienes ya en la pregunta, desde el principio lo único que hacia era pasar en mi habitación horas y horas, creando y descubriendo. No empecé con la mentalidad de “quiero ser un dj famoso”, empecé a tocar con platos justo en el 2013. Tanta creación, concentración y muchas horas de producción fueron mi receta secreta al empezar. Producí muchos tracks en poco tiempo, algunos de estos eran realmente buenos. He trabajado con sellos como Snatch Records de Londres, Electronique de Berlin y Stereo Production, consiguiendo buenos resultados. Varias veces también en la TOP100 Tech-House de Beatport y Traxsource y con eso conseguí abrir nuevas puertas de este mundo. En fin, seguramente otra gran mano de ayuda fueron los videos de Marco Carola tocando mis temas, los cuales la gente colgaba en el las redes sociales y youtube ahí es donde siempre se ve una buena respuesta del publico. A pensar de lo joven que eres, has producido

estos reconocimientos justo por el detalle de currar mucho el sonido Tech-House\Real y por transmitir esa energía FunkyJazz, que te saca una sonrisa y que te dan ganas de abrazar al que tienes al lado durante el “subidón” del track en la disco, aunque sea un desconocido pero me hace sentir feliz. Me encanta. Y por último, ¿qué consejo darías a las personas que hoy en día luchan para llegar a lo alto? em-Nosotros mismos en primera persona somos y seremos la única fuente segura de promoción que funcione sobre nosotros mismos. Pocas personas en este mundo regalan algo, si quieres conseguir un objetivo tienes que trabajarlo y entrenarte en las batallas que se presentaran durante el camino.Yo sigo batallando sin parar y me queda mucho aun. [eng] We talked to Eddy M., musician, DJ and producer. How were you introduced to the music world?

em-Good afternoon, everyone. It was exactly in 2004, when I was 12, that I started to play drums and study music in Sicily, at a European Jazz/ Funk/ R&B/ Soul school in Palermo called “The Brass Group”. We had really interesting courses at the school, focusing on all the different aspects of music. I found history particularly interesting and achieved a great cultural and technical training, learning about the origins of each style.

That moment is engraved in my mind; I see it everyday, during each session, whenever I’m at the studio, it’s my internal strength to prove that everything I studied is still valid, even as a DJ and producer. Too many times we are underestimated due to ignorance. Nowadays I feel like a musician and an orchestra director. Music production is something amazing. I compare it to the universe. It’s like a “horizontal 8”. When you are capable of using the software with a good musical fantasy, one mind has the possibility of combining any kind of sound to give birth to something specific and immortal

How would you define your musical style?

em-My music is Tech-House

with Jazz/ Funk/ R&B /Soul style breaks. I am applying everything I learnt and practiced on my dear drum kit, in a Tech-House key, guided by the theoretical and historical background of each style. I record most of the rhythmic sounds, such as the voice, of each track, and aim at creating melodies which make me feel love and happiness. I believe this is what any artist needs to generate an artwork. What made you change your drum kit for the turntables?

em-After 6 years of training I discovered I was very selfish with regards to music. I felt limited by playing only the drums. I even played in a few bands during those years of study and won several awards which were aired on Italian television. But I didn’t feel good with myself; the limitations made me feel like a caged bird. The hard laws of the pentagram restrained all the musical fantasy I felt inside. I knew a production software had a lot more to offer my musical career, than the drum kit, however I was terrified at having to announce my direction change. I left the school in Palermo during the last year, before the courses and the exams finished. To this day, there are still teachers who won’t talk to me for having quit just at the end and, above all, for devoting myself to electronic music. There isn’t much “feeling” between musicians who play instruments and electronic music producers. This is why I believe in and trust my TechHouse 50% style, with its literally real sounds, recorded with microphones. I have a strong character, thank God. My parents reacted with sadness when I told them about my new plans, after all their sacrifices to support the expenses

which transmits feelings. It’s awesome when this happens. What were your thoughts when you were told you would be playing every saturday at Space’s Elrow this summer, precisely the last one before it closes for good?

em-I felt great pleasure at first, together with great sadness. But every cycle has a start and a finish. It gives me goose bumps to think I have the chance to leave my mark at the last season of a club which existed before I was born. To play during the entire summer at space, with a brand such as Elrow, is a great opportunity for me and my productions, which I will probably never forget. I feel very fortunate to work with a fantastic “Row

family” who have offered many suggestions and possibilities; if managed smartly, these could result in a positive input towards the continuous growth of my artist profile. I am doing lots of studio work and am also happy with my new productions as well as with the portion of dancefloor music. Looking forward to my first session at Space on July the 2nd! Despite your young age, you have produced many tracks which have been published by important labels and have earned the support of great DJs. What do you think you’ve done right to deserve this recognition?

em-The answer is in the question. I’ve always spent many hours in my room, creating and discovering. The mentality when I started was not:”I want to be a famous DJ. I began using the turntables in 2013. My secret recipe at the beginning consisted of concentration, lots of production hours and creation. I produced lots of tracks in not much time, some were really quite good. I have worked with labels such as London’s Snatch Records, Berlin’s Electronique and Stereo Production, and achieved good results. These were featured many times in the TOP 100 Tech-House lists by Beatport and Traxsource, which opened new horizons for me in the field. Probably another great helping hand were the videos of Marco Carola playing my tracks which were posted on social media and youtube, where I’ve always received great audience response. I think I earned this recognition precisely for the detail with which I work towards a Tech-House /Real sound and for transmitting this FunkyJazz energy which will make you smile and want to hug your neighbor during the track’s climax at the club; “he is a stranger but he makes me happy”. I love it. Finally, what advice would you give to those who are currently fighting to reach the top?

em-We, ourselves, in the first person, are and will be the only secure source of promotion for ourselves. Not many people in this world give things away for free. If you are aiming at a certain goal you need to work at it and train for the battles you will be faced with on the path. I am still fighting and still have a long way to go. But I am not afraid. Patience, respect, seriousness… A touch of funky never hurts. Greeting to all!

Su inicio en el mundo de la música tuvo lugar en Amsterdan en el año 2011, unos años después viajó a Ibiza para explorar en el mundo del techno. Chelina, eres una persona muy creativa y te atraen los retos, ¿en qué proyectos estas involucrada en este momento?

cm-Ahora mismo estoy en un momento de mi carrera en el que empezamos a ver respeto y resultados. Durante los dos últimos años mi manager y yo decidimos hacer un trabajo de filtrado de eventos y dedicarnos simplemente a tocar los los clubs donde tenīa que tocar, dejando de lado peticiones de eventos para marcas o más vip. A pesar de tener 15/16 fechas cada mes, estoy trabajando en un Ep que verá la luz después de verano y en un concepto propio para desarrollar como tour. Me gustarīa poder tener mi propia marca donde pueda dar oportunidades a nuevos talentos al

igual que me las dieron a mi. ¿Hacia dónde piensas que esta evolucionando la música hoy en día en Ibiza?

cm-La verdad que hay un cambio espectacular a nivel de eventos underground. Aún recuerdo que hace 5/6 años tenīas Dc10, Luciano, Cocoon y para de contar. Posteriormente Enter, Music On, Paradise y un sin fin de eventos en playas. Hay una vuelta hacia el techno y tech house bastante importante. [eng] We interviewed Chelina Manuhutu, DJ and producer. Chelina, you are a very creative person and you are attracted to challenges, what projects are you involved in at the moment?

cm-Right now I’m at a point in my career where we are starting to see respect and results. During the past two years my manager and I decided to filter events and simply dedicate ourselves to playing at clubs where I should be playing, putting requests to play at events for brands or more VIP parties to one side. Despite having 15/16 dates each month, I’m working on an EP that will be released after summer and a concept to develop as a tour. I wish I could have my own brand where I could give opportunities to new talents like I was given. What way do you think music in Ibiza is evolving?

cm-The truth is that there has been a dramatic change in underground events. I still remember that 5/6 years ago there was just DC10, Luciano, Cocoon and that was about it. There has been quite an important turnaround towards techno and tech house.

¿Cuáles son tus 3 ó 4 tracks favoritos para pinchar en un club?¿Quién marca una tendencia para ti dentro de tu estilo?

cm-Para este verano me gustan mucho el nuevo Ep de Christian Smith “Force Majeure” para Drumcode, El remix de Adriatique de “Atlas” y Heartbeat de Claptone Hay muchos productores que me inspiran, pero si tengo que destacar nombres me quedo con nombres como Dosem, UNER o Technasia. Eres una mujer entre miles de hombres y ahora, afortunadamente, hay mujeres dj. ¿Cómo ves la situación actual entre hombres y mujeres en las cabinas?

cm-Se está normalizando mucho, pero hasta ahora era bastante complicado. Como mujer, aparte de tener que ganarte tu credibilidad dentro de la cabina, una vez que demostrabas tus habilidades y venían a ver si era un set pre grabado… siempre buscan el fallo que no existe. Cuando veian que una chica podía hacer bailar a la gente, mezclar… llegaba el “¡Wow, pero si pinchas de verdad!” También hemos tenido alguna situación desagradable con algún artista con el que hemos compartido cabina pero prefiero guardarme el nombre. Voy a cada evento a dejarme la piel y eso es lo que cuenta, que el publico lo pase bien y el promotor esté contento. ¿Consideras importante el seguimiento de las nuevas tecnologías en el mundo de la música o crees que la verdadera esencia está en el vinilo?

cm-Es fundamental a todos los niveles y debemos adaptarnos a ellas. Tengo platos y vinilos en casa y la sensación cuando pinchas con ellos es mágica, pero es complicado hacer 100 bolos al año y cargar con maletas de discos. Hay que ser prácticos. No tengo tour manager y para mi sería muy complicado. Cada uno elige lo que le va mejor, hay gente más romántica que sigue pinchando solo en vinilo y les aplaudo y admiro. Pero en mi caso no tengo tour manager, la mitad de los clubs donde voy tienen un rider determinado y me he tenido que adaptar. Y para terminar, ¿qué consejo darías a las personas que están iniciándose en el mundo de la música?

em-Que busquen un balance para todo lo que un artista tiene que hacer hoy. Ya no es encerrarse en el estudio solamente , sino hacer networking, tener tiempo para hablar con tus seguidores, redes sociales [eng] What are your 3 or 4 favourite tracks to play at a club? Who sets trends for you in your style?

You’re a woman between thousands of men and now, fortunately, there are women DJ. How do you see the current situation between men and women in the DJ booth?

cm-It is normalizing a lot, but until now it was quite complicated. As a woman, apart from having to earn your credibility within the DJ booth, once you’ve demonstrated your skills and everyone has seen that it wasn’t a prerecorded set... People always look for a fault that does not exist. When they’ve seen that a girl can make people dance, mix... That’s when they say ‘Wow, she really is djing’. We’ve also had some a few unpleasant situations with an artist with who I’ve had to share the booth with but I won’t say his name. I go to every event and give everything I’ve got and that’s what counts, that the audience has a good time and the promoter is happy. Do you consider it important to follow-up new technologies in the world of music or think the true essence is on vinyl?

cm-It is essential at all levels and we must adapt to them. I have turntables and vinyls at home and the feeling when you play with them is magical, but it is difficult to play 100 gigs per year and carry suitcases of records. It has to be practical. I have no tour manager and for me would be very complicated. Everyone chooses what works better for them, more romantic people still play only on vinyl and I take my hat off and admire them. But in my case I have no tour manager, half the clubs where I go have a certain rider and I’ve had to adapt. And finally, what advice would you give to people starting out in the music world?

cm-Finding a balance in everything that an artist has to do today. It is no longer about being locked into the studio alone, but to network, take time to talk with your followers and on social networks

Hierbas Ibicencas Elaboracion - method Introducir una ramita de cada una de la hierbas en cada botella y, en el caso de las cáscaras de limón y de naranja, el equivalente a un gajo. Ayudarse de una ramita para facilitar la tarea. Rellenar las botellas con ambos tipos de anís previamente mezclados. Dejar en una habitación oscura durante el mayor tiempo posible (mínimo un par de meses). Insert a spring of each aromatic herb in each bottle and in the case of the lemon and orange peel, about a quarter of the whole rind. Use a twing to make the operation easier. Fill the bottle with both kinds of anisette, previously mixed together. Leave in a dark room for as long as possible (cople of months minimum).

Ingredients Sweet anisette (3/4) Aguardiente (dry anise 1/4) Thyme Rosemary Spearmint Mint Lemon verbena Juniper Sage Fennel Camomile Laurel Lavender Rue Curry plant, immortelle Zamarilla Orange rind 1orange leaf Lemon rind 1 lemon leaf

Frita de pulpo

Amasar la harina con el agua, el aceite, la levadura y un pellizco de sal hasta conseguir una masa homogénea. Engrasar una bandeja de horno con aceite y espolvorearla con harina. Estirar la pasta con un rodillo y extender encima de la bandeja. Colocar encima los pimientos asados, el ajo picado y las aceitunas y rociar con aceite. Salar. Introducir en el horno previamente calentado y dejar cocer durante media hora a 250º.

Hervir el pulpo en abundante agua durante aproximadamente una hora. Poner aceite en una cazuela y sofreír la cebolla picada. Cuando esté dorada, añadir los pimientos troceados y los dientes de ajo sin pelar junto con el laurel. Mientras tanto trocear el pulpo e incorporarlo a la cazuela. Mezclar todos los ingredientes y salpimentar. Añadir las patatas troceadas y previamente fritas y mezclar de nuevo. Dejar cocer unos minutos más a fuego lento.

Knead the flour with the water, olive oil, yeast and a pinch of salt until you have a uniformly fine dough. Grease the baking tray with olive oil and sprinkle with flour. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and spread it out on the tray. Arrange over this the baked peppers, crushed garlic and olives and sprinkle with olive oil. Add salt to taste. Bake in a pre-heated oven for half an hour at 250º.

Boil the octopus in plenty of water for about an hour. Pour some olive oil into a saucepan and sauté the chopped onion. When it is golden brown, add the sliced peppers and unpeeled cloves of garlic. Cut the octopus into pieces and add to the soucepan. Mix all the ingredients and season with salt. Add the potatoes (sliced and fried beforehand) and mix again. Leave to simmer for afew minutes more on a low heat.

Se trata de un plato típico muy habitual en todas las casas en las que algún miembro es aficionado a la pesca. Se encuentra en muchos bares y restaurantes como tapa. This is a typical dish for households where someone is keen of fishing. It is found in many bars and restaurants as a tapa.

Elaboracion - method

Batir los huevos con el azúcar, el anís, la ralladura de limón y añadir la lavadura y la harina hasta obterner una masa consistente. Dividir la masa en porciones pequeñas y aplanar cada una dándoles forma de oreja. Realizar unos cortes en la zona central y freir en una sartén con aceite a fuego fuerte. Dejar enfriar y espolvorear con azúcar.
