PLAY SMARTER

A case can be made for most of these but the most persuasive one is for INEXES who can boast a C&D win and signalled he’s ready to go in again when runner-up at Hamilton last time. Foreshore is sure to provide a stern test after his narrow reversal at Doncaster and recent Ayr scorer Epeius is another to consider in an open sprint.

Seven of the last 10 runnings of this have gone to 4-y-os and SHADES OF BLUE, who found just one too good 12 months ago, is taken to enhance that statistic. This is likely to go to one of the 3-y-os, with REVOLVER the pick ahead of Frankenstella. The latter did the job well over C&D a fortnight ago and there should be more races to be won with her, but Revolver is clearly thriving, making it 5-5 in handicaps at Sandown last week, and this stiffer test promises to help unlock further improvement. Funny Man may fare best of the remaining quartet.

TAWREED hasn’t achieved quite as much in form terms as Wondrous Words but she’s open to improvement based on the encouragement of her solitary outing to date, when third at Yarmouth despite looking green.
