f “Mi Caseta – Flamenco Nights” is a wonderful experience that aims to show the Andalusian culture with the best flamenco music and dance, and also through the gastronomy of our land. Our aim is to immerse the public into a magic atmosphere recreated by a carefully settled scenography of an exclusive ‘tablao flamenco’ where you can feel the culture, the magic and the emotion of the tradition and the purest essence of the Andalusian soul. We stand out for the top-quality of our show that is aimed for both international and national tourism.
The experience The flamenco show consists of around two hours of an intense and awesome flamenco performance. Musical instruments such as the piano, sax, trombone, vocals and guitars are mixed with the passion of the dance and the flamenco soul. The performance is divided into some thematic parts separated by breaks so that attendees can feel the flamenco experience at the same time that they enjoy a typical southern Spanish dinner. Our cuisine merges tradition and avant-garde with the integration of products from the local region. At the beginning of the show, attendees are given a bottle of ‘manzanilla’ as one of the most popular wines of Andalusia. Besides, customers have the choice to order additional drinks or portions of the offered menu. 2

EDITOR PAGE With August gone, we now enter a new phase on the Costa del Sol. The decreasing number of visitors starts to become obvious, children’s holidays come to an end and schools prepare for re-opening. This is when all the residents come back to their homes after their own holidays, the days get darker earlier and the heat of the summer begins to be forgotten. It is amazing how the Costa seems to change through the seasons, quite dramatically really. I hope that the coming months will resolve some of the many problems the world is plagued with at the moment. The end of political stupidity, the end of fighting, the end of irrational immigration, the end of arms race, the end of destruction of our environment would all be the most pleasant achievements by the human race.

Did you know that..? Document reveals ‘critical three months’ after no-deal. A secret document from the Cabinet Office has warned there would be a “critical three-month phase” if Britain crashed out of the EU without a deal, during which the whole planning operation could be overwhelmed. There is growing concern about the chaos that could be sparked by a no deal with shortages of everything from medicines to fresh food and toilet paper. The Guardian Sales of self-help books rise 20% in a year. Stressed Britons are increasingly resorting to self-help books in a bid to cope with their daily lives. More than three million of the books were sold last year – an increase of 20 per cent from 2017. The sales boom means selfimprovement and popular psychology is one of the fastest-growing genres in the publishing world. Daily Mail If you work on holiday, there are some ground rules. For some of us, doing some form of work while away is all but inevitable. Two-thirds of employees told Glassdoor that they work while on holiday, and Randstad reports that some 53% of employers expect employees to be available while out. How can you pull this off without feeling drained? Set clear boundaries. Devote specific periods to work, with the rest dedicated to off time. Prioritise big picture thinking over routine tasks. Women exposed to air pollution risk early menopause, say scientists. Two separate studies have suggested a link between living with heavy air pollution and a risk of earlier menopause and infertility. The scientists behind the research, in Italy and the US, believe that such pollution may speed the ageing of women’s reproductive systems. In a recent study presented at the ACC Latin America Conference 2019, it was shown that 43% of students who used their smartphones more than five hours a day increased the risk of obesity. In a recent study presented at the Cardiology Association of the United States (ACC) , a team of experts led by Mirary MantillaMorrón, analysed 1,060 students between June and December 2018. The study group consisted of 700 women and 360 men, with an average age of 19 years and 20 years respectively. The results showed that those who used the mobile more than five hours a day increased their chances of gaining weight significantly. Of those who used the phones five or more hours a day, men were 36.1% more likely to be overweight and 42.6% to be obese. Women were 63.9% more likely to be overweight and 57.4% more obese. This fact was linked to both physical inactivity and to the fact that participating students were twice as likely to drink more sugary drinks, fast food, candy and snacks. “It is important that the general population knows and takes into account that, although mobile technology is undoubtedly attractive for its multiple purposes, portability, convenience,
access to countless services, information and entertainment sources, it should also be used to improve habits and healthy behaviours” concluded Mantilla-Morrón. Spending too much time with the phone facilitates sedentary behaviours, reduces physical activity time, increasing the risk of premature death, diabetes, heart disease, different types of cancer, osteoarticular discomfort affecting bones and joints and symptoms Musculoskeletal (support, stability, and movement to the body). The results of this study allow us to highlight one of the main causes of physical obesity and a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. It has also determined that the amount of time a person is exposed to the use of technologies, specifically the prolonged use of mobile phones, is associated with the development of obesity. As smartphones continue to be an inherent part of life and grow as a primary source of entertainment, particularly among young people, it leads to a decrease in physical activity. www.webexpressguide.com

reduction of skin blemishes, skin rehydration, treatments for regeneration effects caused by age, revitalization of cells, activation of stem cells, improvement of skin firmness‌ Most importantly it helps to cure a number of symptoms and aliments that hyperbaric therapy is being recognised for. For example treatments of cerebrovascular accidents, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, improvement of the harmful side effects of cancer treatments, physical recovery of injuries and surgical interventions, treatment of necrosis, improvement of physical performance and memory, strengthening the immune system . Hyperbaric medicine is not a new invention, its origin dates back to the XVI century, but since then it has been discovered that it can be applied successfully to several other physical and medical improvements and, with the most recent advances in technology, such as OXIGENIUS, the list of benefits seems to get even longer.

Shoulder Arthroscopy for quicker recovery & almost invisible scars. These days almost all shoulder conditions can be treated using key-hole surgery. This has revolutionised treatment and substantially reduced recovery time.
The most common conditions treated by arthroscopy are: Dr Marius Negru, orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at HC Marbella’s
The shoulder is a complex joint which provides extensive movement to the arm, permitting its day-to-day function and to work and enjoy taking part in sporting activities and more. It is a fact that abnormalities have significant repercussions on our daily lives.
•
Shoulder Impingement Syndrome, due to an injury caused by excessive use of the shoulder resulting in pain at the front or side of the shoulder. The pain is mostly felt most when raising or lifting the arm out to the side. This is also known as rotator cuff tendonitis or shoulder bursitis, quite common with swimmers and baseball, tennis and volleyball players. It can also affect weightlifters, gymnasts, divers and rowers.
•
Acromioclavicular osteoarthritis, is a frequent cause of shoulder pain due to wear and tear of the joint at the top of the shoulder, where the clavicle meets the acromion.
•
Rotator cuff tears, the rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons which together form a cuff over the shoulder joint. These muscles and tendons support the arm in its socket and allow movement of the shoulder joint. The tendons can be torn due to injury or overload.
•
Shoulder instability occurs when the muscles, tendons, bones and ligaments surrounding the shoulder do not function correctly and do not manage to maintain the head of the humerus
What is shoulder arthroscopy? It is a procedure performed using a small camera, called an arthroscope, inserted through a small skin incision to examine and repair tissue in or around the shoulder joint. What conditions can be treated with shoulder arthroscopy? Arthroscopy can be used to treat the majority of injuries affecting the shoulder joint. The advantage is a much shorter recovery time compared to the more aggressive open surgery procedure. Surgery is performed under general anaesthetic and lasts between 30 minutes and two hours, depending on the condition to be treated. 36

within the glenoid fossa. When this happens, the shoulder is described as unstable and the joint may be partially displaced. This is known as shoulder subluxation, or completely displaced, known as shoulder dislocation. It is a very common, but very frustrating, sporting injury. •
Acromioclavicular dislocation is a traumatic injury caused by a tear of the stabilising joint structures: the acromioclavicular and coracoclavicular ligaments and the joint capsule. The acromial end of the clavicle rises to a level above the acromion causing an obvious deformity and the injured arm drops. This injury is typically caused by falls on the shoulder in sports such as cycling or motor sports (bikes). It is also commonly seen on the football pitch.
Are there any risks involved with shoulder arthroscopy? The risks and complications involved in shoulder arthroscopy can be classified into three sections: •
•
•
Anaesthetic: patients are assessed by specialists who decide on the best anaesthetic technique, it is no different from other surgical procedures and the surgery is not a lengthy one. Preoperative: the surgeon must have the appropriate knowledge and ability to prevent and solve complications during surgery. Postoperative: postoperative complications are the same as with any joint surgery. They include infection (uncommon in arthroscopic surgery), joint rigidity and residual pain. An appropriately prescribed exercise regime is very important in
relation to this last point, the regime starts immediately at the time of discharge from hospital. Recovery from Shoulder arthroscopy Recovery following shoulder arthroscopy depends on the injury treated and on the patient’s activity level. This is why individual protocols are always developed. The recovery period varies between one to two weeks for surgeries not involving rotator cuff injuries, and up to two or three months if the rotator cuff has been repaired. It may take 4 to 6 months in the case of athletes practising sports involving throwing, or who take part in contact sports. Once the surgical wound has healed, all patients can perform activities such as eating normally and attending to personal hygiene from 7 to 10 days afterwards, despite having to wear a shoulder immobiliser. What about scars?? Our orthopaedic shoulder specialist does not use external sutures, the scars are therefore almost invisible. All these conditions can be treated arthrosocopically in our hospital by Dr Marius Negru, orthopaedic and trauma surgeon and HC Marbella’s shoulder and elbow specialist. If you live outside Spain and are considering shoulder surgery, at HC Marbella we take care of every last detail, from organising your journey and accommodation until your return home. We offer a complete package in a restful environment so you can feel safe, calm and relaxed.

The Power of Sleep We diet, we exercise to keep healthy but we underrate sleep.
Anxiety, stress, and depression are some of the most common causes of insomnia. Other common emotional and psychological causes include anger, worry, grief, bipolar disorder and trauma.
But then there is the selfinduced lack of adequate sleep when we sacrifice adequate sleep to keep up, working late shifts, a second job, staying up late. Some people in Andalucía pride themselves of enjoying themselves all night to go straight to work the next morning. 38
www.webexpressguide.com
Sleep is when the body heals itself. Officially you need a minimum of 8 hours every night, getting less than 6 hours of sleep not only affects your blood sugar regulation, but it can also affect your physical performance, mental health, and many other things. Many can be the other reasons why some people suffer from insomnia, such as deficiency in calcium, magnesium, zinc, a poor diet or an accumulation of toxic metals. For instance, copper has a stimulating effect on the brain, causing the mind to race, and it
HEALTH
also excites the emotions. Insomnia before the menstrual period can often be due to elevated copper which tends to occur just before the menstrual period. Getting adequate sleep does not take a lot of work, it is a question of knowing oneself and programming accordingly. Personally I always keep away from sleeping pills, I do not believe that is the way to
acquire the needed sleep I also believe they can do more harm than good. So I would like to make a few suggestions that should help you get over some of the insomnia problem. The long term solution. DO NOT GO TO BED LATE. If you stay up late the chances are that body will need more time to adjust to the idea, hence less sleep. Also try and go to bed at the same time every night. www.webexpressguide.com

HEALTH
ELIMINATE ALL SOUND AND LIGHT DISTURBANCES. The less distracted you are by your senses, the easier it is to sleep. If need be wear an eye mask or earplugs to stop your senses being on the alert. AVOID EATING BEFORE GOING TO BED. It is true what they say about eating cheese before sleeping. Then cheese or ice cream or cake means asking for a bad dream but also will keep you from a restful night’s sleep. If you tend to wake at about the same time most nights, eat an early dinner and only light, healthy snacks later in the evening like a small piece of chicken or turkey or almond butter, this can help stabilize your blood sugar and allow you to sleep through the night. AVOID CAFFEINE. Caffeine is a stimulant which makes it harder to fall asleep. If you can’t avoid caffeine completely, at least reduce your intake, and never drink caffeinated beverages within six to eight hours of going to bed. A cup of chamomile tea, valerian root tea are your best bet. DON’T WATCH TV IN BED. The truth is, most of us tend to fall asleep while we watch TV in bed until your eyes start to get heavy and fall asleep but drifting off to sleep this way really doesn’t provide your body with adequate rest because even though you may be asleep your brain remains distracted by the TV and your sleep is not as sound as it should be. Turning off the TV also helps reduce the amount of Electromagnetic fields around you.
AVOID EXERCISE THREE HOURS BEFORE BEDTIME. Regular exercise is good and necessary for the many benefits it provides, however remember that exercise invigorates the body and energized feeling you get from exercise tends to last for several hours. Give it at least 3 hours. RUBBING THE FEET is very helpful for calming the nerves and help to restore the natural energy flow. Pay more attention to any area that is tender or painful. A point on the soft area about the middle of the bottom of the large toe appears to assist sleep and rest. LEAVE THE DAYS CHALLENGES BEHIND YOU. This is also most helpful. Do not take problems and worries to bed with you. Just call the end to the day every night and mentally relase your brain from the day gone and further thoughts on it. KEEP TRACK OF HOW LONG IT TAKES TO GET TO SLEEP. If you’re asleep before your head hits the pillow, something’s wrong! If it takes less than five minutes to fall asleep, that’s a pretty good sign that your body is sleep deprived. The ideal time it should take to fall asleep is between ten and fifteen minutes. GOOD SLEEPING HABITS AREN’T HARD TO DEVELOP, IT JUST TAKES A LITTLE EFFORT. But your body will thank you in the long run, as you enjoy the healthy benefits of adequate sleep and a more energized life!
The night is for sleep 40

RECIPE
Butter Poached
Lobster with
Fresh Tomatoes
Ingredients • • • • • •
1 3/4 lb live lobster (or 2 uncooked lobster tails) 2 tbsp water 1/2 cup salted butter (1 stick), cut into 1 tablespoon chunks 1 clove garlic, very finely minced 2 tomatoes, cut into large chunks 4-5 fresh basil leaves, chiffonade
Easy to make and most pleasing end of summer Mediterranean recipe
Method
1. If using live whole lobster, bring a large pot of water to boil. Turn off heat and add the lobster. Cover with lid and let cook for 3 minutes. Remove all lobster meat from shell and cut into large chunks. 2. In a sauce pan, bring 1 tablespoon of water to simmer over medium-low heat. Whisk in 1 piece of butter. When butter has melted, add another piece. Continue with remaining butter pieces, one at a time. Make sure the mixture does NOT come to a boil, otherwise the butter will separate. 3. Keeping the heat on medium-low, add the lobster pieces and cook for 5 minutes, turning the lobster pieces every minute or so. Make sure mixture does not boil. Remove lobster pieces and divide between 2 serving bowls. 4. In the same saucepan with the remaining butter, turn the heat up just a bit, add the garlic. When fragrant, add the tomatoes and cook for just a couple of minutes until the tomatoes have released some of the juices. Gently smash the tomatoes a bit so more juice comes out. Throw in the basil and you’re done. Spoon tomatoes over lobster and serve immediately. www.webexpressguide.com

A new law has made it compulsory for all employers to keep a register of hours worked by each employee The object is to track down unpaid overtime. The employer becomes responsible to keep a record of the hours worked for 4 years, even in the case of ex-employees.

Companies are also obliged to keep the daily register for “movable” workers, sales persons, temporary workers, out-workers and any in respect of any other circumstance where the work is not fully carried out in the company’s working place.” 46

ending meeting
SOMETIMES, ESPECIALLY HERE IN SPAIN, YOU GO TO A BUSINESS MEETING AND, ONE THING LEADING TO ANOTHER, THE MEETING DOES NOT SEEM TO END.
You might have another meeting or appointment to go to, you start to get nervous, you glance at your watch sneakily, not wanting to offend. Alternatively it can be a meeting involving several people but with the same problem. I am sure that we have all had this type of experience, instead of watching the clock on the wall or start to sweat, you just have to take matters in your own hands: 1. Be prepared. You can avoid a chaotic rambling conversation, after the first few pleasantries, simply by showing up with a clearly articulated position on the topic to be discussed. 2. Set limits. If a meeting is notorious for starting late or running over time, explain your time limitations up front. You might say, “I understand we’re starting late, but I have a commitment I have to keep, so must leave on time.”
3. Don’t push it on to other subjects or matters, instead offer to share it if people think doing so will speed up the discussion. If it happens to be an official meeting and there is no chairperson nominated, volunteer yourself for the role. This way you can ensure the meeting remains on track and achieves the desired result. 4. Name what’s happening. Listen to your gut. If you’re feeling lost, pay attention. If you’re feeling bored, notice it and draw attention to the fact. 5. When several people are involved, there’s a good chance others feel the same. You can tactfully and tentatively share your concern to see if others are feeling similarly. You might say, “I’m not sure I’m following the discussion. We seem to be moving among three different agenda items. Are others seeing that too?” 6. Of course always be polite.

Gears 5 is an upcoming third-person shooter video game being developed by The Coalition that will be published by Xbox Game Studios. Gears 5 focuses on Kait Diaz (Laura Bailey), an Outsider of Locust descent. As Kait, the player must uncover the origins of the Locust and Kait’s family. Gears of War 4 protagonist JD Fenix (Liam McIntyre), his friend Delmont Walker (Eugene Byrd), and JD’s father Marcus Fenix (John DiMaggio) also return.
Gameplay changes on FIFA 20 focus primarily on a new feature titled VOLTA Football. The mode, which translates to ‘return’ in Portuguese, focuses on street football rather than the traditional matches associated with the FIFA series. It will include several options to play in three versus three, four versus four and five versus five matches, as well as with professional futsal rules. Following the completion of the three-part series “The Journey” in FIFA 19, players can now have a similar storyline mode in VOLTA Football, which would be played with the player’s own character.

CAR OF THE MONTH
COCHE DEL MES
It is difficult to achieve a perfect symbiosis between these two words: comfort and sportsmanship, and more so if we apply them to the automobile world. But I think the Panamera has all the qualities necessary to be one of the few models capable of breaking this rule. We have proven that it is a car tremendously comfortable for trips of several hours, to the point it performs better than expected on twisted mountain roads forcing the rhythm.
Furthermore, I feel far more comfortable surrounded by electrically adjustable leather seats that allow me to quickly find my preferred posture for driving. I adjust the mirrors, I enter the key in the lock, in this case on the right, I start the engine and let myself be surprised by the hoarse humming produced by the exhaust pipe.
