EDITOR PAGE Is the Corona Virus man-made or is it not? This is still a question that remains unanswered. Regrettably the rate of infection has affected the whole world in every aspect. After 3 months of inactivity we have suffered a substantial financial loss the same as every other company, except perhaps the supermarkets and undertakers. From our point of view the consumers market is still here, and marketing and advertising are an essential part of every business, especially now. For this reason we intend to forge ahead and continue offering the best possible marketing and promotion service we can. My only hope is that the gradual de-escalation is done sensibly and that no entry is permitted to visitors form countries that do not have the virus under control. I am sure we can all agree that it is best to safeguard the long term health of a nation rather than the short term needs of irresponsible politicians.
¿El virus Corona está hecho artificialmente o no? Esta sigue siendo una pregunta sin respuesta. Lamentablemente, la tasa de infección ha afectado al mundo entero en todos los aspectos. Después de 3 meses de inactividad, hemos sufrido una pérdida financiera sustancial igual que cualquier otra empresa, excepto quizás los supermercados y las funerarias. As the employees of SORI unanimously adopted this tool, could other companies also be interested? And if so, how to develop a complete health and safety solution for itinerant and site staff and especially how to market it? With this in mind, Olivier created a more mature and industrial version of the product that has resulted in the “HYGIMOB” of today.
Businesses everywhere were then presented with 3 obligations, namely how to satisfy the demand for existing clients, how to safeguard their own companies with a reduced activity level and how to protect the most exposed employees, namely the technicians-installers on building sites. Mr Olivier SORI, the president and director of the SORI Company, in association with his sister Caroline, manage this aluminium joinery company established for over 3 generations in the South of France and this when it came to Olivier’s mind the idea to fit his commercial vehicles with a device that satisfied the hygienic necessities on building sites. After due deliberations, Olivier SORI instructed his floor shop to create from his design an item that resulted in the first mobile hygienic apparatus. Just only 24 hours later, all their site vehicles were fitted with the first prototypes on their rear doors carrying a 5 litres jerry can of water, liquid soap, and hand towels. Through the daily use of this product, the technicians

The brand is created and the adventure begins for the two partners…! In June 2020 the company SDTECH “Société de Développement Techniques” is founded and the first HYGIMOBs are produced in series from a factory based in the south of France. The first distributors are now contracted, and with the unanimous support for the product, sales have now developed in the French market which is showing a growing interest. Simultaneously Olivier SORI presented the product to two of his Monegasque friends, Mrs. Corinne LEWIN and Mr. David ROUX. They were won over by the idea, especially Corinne, a proud defender of Monaco and what it stands for, who saw the benefits of introducing this product to complement the measures taken by the Principate and SOWIN, their company, became the exclusive distributor in Monaco. They decided to name the product for MONACO “KleanFree” and to colour the product in red and white like the Monaco flag. In fact the gadget can be supplied in any company colour as desired. The product is now launched, what now remains is to convey the idea and switch to long-distance running mode. Product developments and the creation of a full range are already under development. Always moving on and in reflection, this is the leitmotif of the two founders, OLIVIER and GILLES

Un día antes de San Valentín, el sobreexplotado día de los enamorados, es el día internacional de la radio, 13 de febrero, cuyo santoral es amplio y honra entre otros a san Ágabo, San Benigno de Todi o San Gosberto.
Y yo tengo la enorme suerte de que me pilló haciendo radio, concretamente en Radio Manilva ya que los lunes y los viernes tengo el privilegio de dirigir un programa en Radio Municipal Manilva que lleva por título Disidencias y que ya ha alcanzado los 200 programas. En él desgrano la trayectoria de músicos, cantantes y bandas que han confeccionado la banda sonora de nuestras vidas y donde estoy acompañado a los controles por gente experta y profesional como Belén Pose, Juan Carlos Morejón, David Gil o Ana María Ruiz. Los miércoles comparto magazine gamberro y desenfadado con Juan Carlos Morejón 14

en Radio Manilva en El ataúd abierto, un programa lleno de humor, música, simpatía, ironía y sarcasmo donde hablamos de autores vivos y muertos. Y para completar mi prolífica semana radiofónica, de vez en cuando mis amigos de radio Manilva me invitan al programa Cine adictos, maravilloso magazine dedicado al séptimo arte, donde se habla de cine de forma muy profesional, pero sin dejar de ser divertido, lúdico y muy didáctico. Y ahora desde que se nos cayó encima esta maldita pandemia, no se olvidan de mí, y todos los viernes me llaman para hablar de fútbol, de literatura, música y cultura en general. Además de las entrevistas que me han realizado para presentar mis libros todos estos años. Por todo ello puedo asegurar que celebro cada día del año el día de la radio, gracias a la gran acogida que he tenido en Radio Municipal Manilva, donde me siento tan cómodo como en mi propia casa. Oriental Style Marinated Salmon A Vitamin ”D” dish for the pandemic with just 160 calories.
MARINATE 1. Finely chop the scallion, mince the garlic, and then put them in a shallow dish. Add the grated ginger, soy sauce, Hoisin sauce, oil, lemon juice, and pepper. Whisk using a fork to combine the ingredients. It is not necessary to add any salt since the soy and Hoisin sauces are already rather salty.
RECIPE
2. Put the salmon in the dish and turn it to coat with the marinade. Cover and let stand either 30 min at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
• 1 Clove Garlic minced

• 1 ½ tsbp. Soy Sauce
3. Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF.
• 1 tbsp Olive Oil
4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, letting the excess marinade drip off, then transfer it to a baking sheet, skin side down. Bake in the middle of the oven about 20 min. alternatively, the salmon may be cooked on an outdoor grill.
• Ground pepper to taste
• 1 Green Onions, finely chopped
• ½ tsbp. Ginger grated • 1 tsbp. Hoisin Sauce • ½ tsbp. Lemon juice
• 300 brs. Salmoin Fillet
5. Check with a fork to see if the fish is cooked through. Separate and lift the salmon from the skin with a metal spatula and serve (discard skin). 22

A word of caution! We all know what we had to endure on the Costa del Sol since the middle of March when strict restriction were imposed in order to contain the Coronavirus and eliminate it from our area. The menace is invisible, it has been identified how it contaminates people and the speed with which it does it, and therefore it made a lot of sense to make it visible by isolating it in people and making it visible this way. Once visible you can then deal with it while waiting for vaccines. The restrictions imposed were enforced by threats of heavy fines, arrest and even deportation with the result that we are working our way out of the epidemic and started to resume what is left of our businesses and lives. Of course our economy on the Costa depends on tourism and foreign visitors, naturally they are welcome to enjoy our climate, beaches, sun and the rest that make our Costa one of the most desirable places to enjoy a holiday. But, are they going to respect the safety and security measures that remain imposed?

What if they do not? Watching the British news terrifies me! People seem to do what they like with little or no awareness of the danger they cause by overcrowding and not respecting the precautions. Is this what they will do here? Spain is the major holiday target for the British, unfortunately Britain is one of the worst infected countries. The government has failed to avoid serious errors in controlling the virus and, what is worse, it has been totally laxed in enforcing the necessary safety measures with the result that the UK beaches get massively overcrowded with total contempt of any precautions. Despite the growing number of casualties, the UK is moving on to deescalation even by allowing pubs to open. I hope that the Spanish authorities are capable of protecting us and even impose heavy penalties for breaches of safety. In any case let’s not be fooled by a false sense of security, be vigilant, do not assume that Covid-19 is over. We need to move on and not get back to another epidemic.

Could we get rid of coronavirus without a vaccine? FAECAL TESTING FOR THE DETECTION OF
COLORECTAL CANCER
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignancies and one of the main causes of death from cancer. by José Miguel Rosales Zábal - Gastroenterology Unit
Survival is much improved when diagnosed early, hence the importance of screening tests to enable a diagnosis as early as possible.
The incidence of this type of cancer increases with age, with the majority of cases occurring in those over the age of 50. For this reason, the majority of professional bodies and guidelines recommend starting screening tests at the age of 50, bearing in mind that each person’s case must be assessed individually to more accurately estimate that person’s risk. Tests performed on samples of faeces are amongst the most straight-forward due to their ease and affordability, they are basically of three types: those which detect occult blood in stools, and “multitarget” tests which also detect genetic mutations associated with this type of cancer. Below we explain these tests in more detail.
There are two main types:
1. Immunohistochemical test: directly measures the haemoglobin (a blood component) in faeces. Only a small sample of faeces is required, this must be taken to the laboratory within 24 hours so that the sensitivity of the test is not diminished. Testing once a year, the sensitivity for detecting colorectal cancer is almost 74% and the sensitivity for detecting polyps of 10 mm or more is 24%. For smaller polyps measuring 6 to 9 mm or less than 5 mm, sensitivity is lower, at little more than 7%. 2. The guaiac test: detects the presence of haemoglobin by changing the colour of paper impregnated with a reagent (alpha-guaiaconic acid). When performed yearly it shows a sensitivity for detecting colorectal cancer of 70%, a sensitivity for detecting polyps, of at least 10 mm, of 24%, a sensitivity for detecting polyps of 6 to 9 mm of 12.4% and a sensitivity for polyps of less than 5 mm of 7.5%.

Multitarget stool DNA test.
This test combines the detection of haemoglobin using immunohistochemical techniques, with the detection of genetic mutations associated with colorectal cancer in the remains of DNA eliminated in the faeces. Their sensitivity when performed yearly is of 92.3% for the detection of colorectal cancer, 42.4% for the detection of polyps of at least 10 mm and 17.2% for polyps of 6 to 9 mm or less than 5 mm.

A positive result from any of these tests, requires more specific testing, in other words colonoscopy. This facilitates the detection of the cause of the positive result, as in many cases it will not be due to a malignant tumour. It also enables the removal of small lesions such as polyps. The study of each person’s individual case is still recommended to ascertain their potential risk and select the most appropriate method of testing in each case.

It would seem that a majority of office workers prefer to work from home even if it means a reduced income. Because of the Corona Virus a large number of employers for the first time have had to depend on workers working from home, as a result employees have discovered the benefits of teleworking, and would prefer not to return to the office.

In a survey of 2,500 workers carried out by OnePoll in the US, India, United Kingdom, Brazil, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, office workers around the world, who telework during the pandemic, 48% would prefer their wages reduced to be able to continue working from home.
Of the participants, 77% consider teleworking to be effective in preserving the environment, 85% stated that they were concerned about the environmental impact of commuting to work and 75% felt guilty about it.

According to the survey, the most appealing reasons to work from home are: flexible hours, saving money, being able to go to the kitchen, using what you want from home and not having to leave things pending for the weekend.
One of the most notable benefits from an employer’s point of view is that happier employees means greater productivity, however it important to note that the environment must also benefit from the reduced commuting everywhere.
Also 72% of those surveyed stated that they have more free time working from home when avoiding wasting an hour a day commuting to their workplace, 66% stated that they also save money on fares and even childcare, since they would not spend on commuting or childcare.
It is also possible that employers can ensure that employees are serious at their work with an increased use of a system that takes webcam photos every five minutes to monitor teleworking employees, while others circumvent surveillance with Zoom’s video backgrounds.
Fearing that workers connecting from home will not maintain their productivity, remote employee monitoring systems are emerging. For example ‘Sneek’ is a video conferencing platform that takes pictures of employees from their webcam every few minutes to verify that they are in front of the screen. According to Del Currie, co-founder of Sneek, to Business Insider, the company has seen how users of its platform have multiplied by ten in recent weeks. Not surprisingly, Sneek is pronounced the same as “sneak,” which means sneaking lurking.

BEWARE OF TICKS There have been two recent cases of Crimean-Congo fever, a disease transmitted by tick bites, detected in Madrid (the first of which even caused the death of the patient). It is estimated that there are around 190 varieties of ticks, although in Spain there are only three that can be considered indigenous: - The Rhipicephalus Sanguineus, habitual in the Mediterranean coast and that usually infects dogs and other animals; Dermacentor Reticulatus, also called the sheep tick; and Ixodes Ricinus, one of the few that prefers humid environments and that proliferates more in autumn than in warm seasons. None of these is the one that transmits Crimean-Congo fever, which is spread by other endemic varieties in Africa and tropical Asia, one of these is named Boophilus, and only infects cattle. Some of these varieties of ticks have been detected in Extremadura in 2011, as reported by the Ministry of Health , and it is likely that they have since spread to other parts of the country, probably transported by birds or other animals imported from abroad.

Authorities caution that panic should not occur, as most tick bites are harmless to humans or animals. Nevertheless ticks can also transmit Lyme disease, a serious bacteria. First you notice a small bump and rash which expands to an encircled red, warm patch. This can develop in fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, chills, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes. These symptoms get progressively more noticeable and it takes 2 to 4 weeks of antibiotics to cure it. If untreated, it will develop into arthritis, chronic pain, numbness, tingling of hands and feet and short memory loss. This is why, as a precaution in the event of a sting, it is best to go seek medical advice as soon as possible. In the case of animals, take them to the vet to be dewormed and make certain you eliminate those unwanted and annoying guests.

Worried about the end of the World? Every year someone will make new apocalyptic predictions through the internet and the tabloids. A computer program named “World One,” which was developed in 1973 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), predicts 2020 to be the year when a series of catastrophic events kick off a 20-year process of a slow demise of human civilization. • The second coming. According to a 1973 book by astrologer Jeane Dixon, Jesus is scheduled to return sometime in the years 2020–2037 bringing with him the apocalypse. But then again, she also predicted the cure for cancer by 1967. • The Viking stone. – A team of Swedish researchers recently managed to decipher the writings on a stone slab dated back to 800 CE. It turned out to be a Viking prophecy about the end of the world due to a “battle with the weather”—a wording eerily reminiscent of the currently unfolding climate crisis.

NEW PRESIDENT ELECTED
It seems like yesterday when our club was officially launched on 21st August 2018. Since then we now count 26 members, although we have sadly lost our dear friend and co-founder member Juan Miguel Fernandez. In the course of these last two years we honoured the towns that our service and cultural actions are aimed at with our symbolic monuments as our compromise to them. The monuments were created and placed by Javier, Oscar and Vicente BoscĂĄ, well known in Manilva and Casares areas. We have also carried out a number of projects for the benefit of our 3 areas, like the children visit to the Orchidarium in Estepona and the goat farm in Casares.

Abroad, we have joined the Global Grant for safe water in Chimbote (PerĂş), with the Italian Rotary Club of Como. We have adopted a HeroRat (https://www.apopo.org/ en), an initiative that saves thousands of lives from anti-personnel mines in Cambodia. During the COVID19 Pandemic we have donated some 3000 face masks, hundreds of gloves and many litres of hiydroalcoholic gel, facial screens and safety coats. What is important is that we have grown as a group of friends, helping others and helping each other in accordance with the Rotarian 4-way test principle. It is with great pleasure that now I pass the baton over to our founder member, editor of Webexpressguide, Edwin Gladstone. A wonderful person, a good friend for us all as well as a true Rotarian in spirit and actions.
