EDITOR PAGE The change of weather is certainly noticeable now that it feels so much cooler a sign that tells us to look forward to the Christmas and New Year. I am sure that we are all looking forward to next year, when hopefully the covid vaccine will be in full swing and we start conquering the epidemic. I wonder why with all the scientific knowledge available we can find a vaccine but not quite a cure for the flu or covid-19. Are we really controlled by the pharmaceutical industry? While we are still in suspense as to what is happening with Brexit, I sincerely hope that this coming year may see the end of David Trump and, who knows, may be the end of Boris Johnson and his band. This would certainly be the icing on the cake.
El verano se ha ido, se nota que hace mucho más fresco, señal de que pronto llegará la Navidad y el Año Nuevo. Todos esperamos con ansias que llegue 2021, por fin se comenzará a distribuir la vacuna contra el covid19 y comenzaremos a conquistar la epidemia. Me pregunto por qué con todo el conocimiento científico del que disponemos hoy en día, podemos encontrar una vacuna pero no una cura para la gripe o el covid-19. ¿Estamos controlados por la industria farmacéutica? Si bien todavía vivimos en un momento de incertidumbre y confusión respecto al Brexit, espero sinceramente que este año que viene podamos ver el fin del Sr.Trump y, quién sabe, también podría ser el fin prematuro de Boris Johnson y su banda. Eso sería sin duda la guinda del pastel.

puente sobre la calle de agua Vivo en Algeciras, la ciudad de la Bella Bahía, como la llamó uno de sus cronistas oficiales. Es mi ciudad un enclave único, privilegiado, rodeado por todas partes de una Naturaleza exuberante y generosa. Dos parques nacionales como son el del Estrecho y el Parque de los alcornocales, donde habitan especies únicas en la flora y fauna universales, la circundan y la ornamentan de verdura y magnificencia. Pero la ciudad en sí no es monumental ni turística ni posee ricos enclaves preñados de Historia ni de rancio abolengo, pues fue destruida hasta en cuatro ocasiones en la mal llamada Reconquista, tanto por moros como por cristianos, en una táctica terrible de tierra quemada, que fue nociva para nuestro patrimonio histórico y sentimental. De todos modos lo más hermoso de Algeciras no está en sus monumentos o en sus pintorescos rincones sino en haberse

There is a difference between sushi and sashimi. Sushi, meaning “seasoned rice,” sashimi means “sliced raw fish”. There are many sushi imitations in the market these days, make sure you try the true Japanese sushi, which comes in many forms and can be eaten with chopsticks or the hands, and is usually found in three basic forms.
Maki-sushi, rolls of sushi usually
involving fish, rice, and seaweed. A regular roll has seaweed in the outside, the middle layer is rice, and the innermost layer is fish and/or vegetables.
Nigiri-sushi is the most familiar to sushi-
eaters. It consists of a piece of fish resting on top of a block of rice. The fish is usually raw, and sometimes a strip of seaweed is used to hold the fish and rice together.

GUNKAN
Gunkan-sushi is a little more exotic. It tends to use unusual types of sea life, such as urchins or fish eggs. The seafood is wrapped in seaweed and shaped like a boat, and usually rests on a little pile of rice. Novice sushi eaters should sit at the bar, where they can watch the food being prepared by the sushi chef. Do remember that the use of chopsticks involves certain etiquette. Do not drum, flip, or share food with them. If you must pass a piece of sushi from one plate to another, use the opposite ends of the chopsticks that have not touched your mouth. You may dip the sushi in the soy sauce provided but do not dilute into it too much wasabi (kind of green horse radish). The thin slices of ginger are used to cleanse the palate between different types of sushi.

CHICKEN & FIGS TAJINE METHOD •
Melt the fat in a large stockpot over medium heat, then add the chicken and sauté for 10 minutes, or until browned.

Add the onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, and a pinch of salt and pepper and sauté the mixture for 5 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.

Add the broth, cover, and bring to a boil. Remove the lid and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Add the dried figs and continue to simmer the mixture for another 20 minutes, uncovered. Serve the chicken with the sauce, topped with the cilantro.

The coronavirus pandemic is creating an “enormous strain” on relationships, an advice charity has warned, with family lawyers predicting a “post-lockdown divorce boom”. Citizens Advice said views on its divorce webpage on the first weekend of September were up 25% compared with the same date in 2019. BBC Youth job aspirations mismatched. An OECD survey across 41 countries suggests 15-year-olds’ career aspirations lie mainly in traditional roles such as doctors, teachers, business managers or lawyers. Nearly there with the vaccine
Spain has secured its first doses of a potential Covid-19 vaccine. According to sources from the Spanish Health Ministry, the government has told the European Commission that it will participate in the plan to purchase 300 million doses for EU countries from British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, once it is proven to be safe and effective against the disease. Under the agreement, each EU member state that joins the plan will receive a number of doses in proportion to their population, meaning that Spain will get 31 million doses of the vaccine if all EU members agree to the purchase. The European Commission also has the option to purchase 100 million more doses from AstraZeneca. If this option is pursued, Spain would receive an additional 10 million doses. The drug in question, known as AZD7442, is currently being developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University. The drug is expected to be distributed by the end of the year or the beginning of 2021.

AstraZeneca has said that the vaccine will cost just a few euros, making it one of the most accessible, compared to other, moreadvanced options from pharmaceutical companies such as Moderna, Pfizer and Janssen (the group that owns the Johnson & Johnson brand). Some 30,000 volunteers have been enrolled to assess the safety and efficiency of the drug as part of the Phase 3 clinical trial, the final stage. Although there is no guarantee that this is the vaccine that will be authorized, it was revealed that US President Donald Trump is considering authorizing it even before the completed clinical trials. The EU Commission is also negotiating the purchase of more vaccine supplies with other companies, which Spain could also join and it has guaranteed a minimum of 1.1 billion doses and a maximum of 1.44 billion until the end of 2021, if all the vaccine candidates are successful. In most cases, two doses of a vaccine need to be administered to each person if it is to be effective.

How does this technique work? Unlike conventional mammography which obtains single images, DBT records hundreds of images to allow the view of the whole breast as it really is. What are the benefits?
How is the process?
Simplicity: this makes it easier for the radiologist to oberrve a certain pathology to see if it is indeed a tumor or not, thus significantly avoiding the need of subsequent unnecessary biopsies.
It is the same as a normal mammogram. Externally, the equipment which acquires tomsynthesis images is similar to that of a mammography, but with one significant difference, it has a moving tube head (unlike traditional mammography) which rotates around the breast, taking images whilst moving around in an arc.
More sensitive: it helps detect up to 40% more cases than conventional mammography. Early detection: the vision of the breast obtained by this technique helps find potential injuries even if they are of a very small size, thus allowing for the implementation of less aggressive treatments should the final diagnostic be cancerrelated. By avoiding tissue superposition, it is significantly useful in detecting damage in dense breasts.

Halloween in Spain Like most things in Spain, even Halloween is borrowed from overseas and transformed into something of their own, not to mention that each region puts its personal stamp on it. It doesn’t have the pomp and hype as in the US, but rather a traditional feel which sets it apart from most European countries. Better known as El Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead or All Souls Day), Halloween in Spain is a three-day celebration that kicks off on October 31st with Dia de las Brujas (Day of the Witches), continues with Dia de Todos los Santos (All Saints Day) on November 1st, and culminates with Dia de los Muertos on November 2nd. Far from being a commercial holiday, the Spanish Halloween is all about honouring the dead and celebrating the continuity of life. Accordingly, specific customs and rituals can be observed throughout the country, most of them similar to those in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking nations. For instance, during the Dia de Todos los Santos, which is a public holiday, many families tend to gather at the grave of their deceased relatives with holy water, flowers, food, and drink in order to rejoice and socialize.

In northern Spain, locals celebrate All Souls Day with some traditional pastries called Huesos de Santo (Bones of the Saint), which they bring to the graves of loved ones along with flowers. A wonderful All Saints Day tradition in Alcalá de Henares, near Madrid, is Las Noches de Don Juan (The Nights of Don Juan). The festival takes place each November (2nd – 30th) and consists of beautiful open-air representations of José Zorrilla’s Don Juan Tenorio. Unlike the US, where Halloween costumes are inspired by books, TV shows, and pop culture, people in Spain dress up in all kinds of spooky characters, from ghosts and werewolves to zombies.
Halloween in Málaga If the year’s most terrifying night finds you in Malaga, don’t hesitate to visit the gorgeously decorated cemeteries. Unfortunately, the city’s infamous Zombie March is long gone, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the city’s other frightening celebrations. For example, both the English Cemetery and the Botanical Garden organize themed events, and there’s also a Halloween fair called Pechá Zombies Party in the port.
Halloween in Cadiz Although not actually a Halloween celebration, Fiesta de To Santos is a weird and original festival celebrated on October 31st in Cadiz. Also known as Fiesta de los Mercados, this event full of humour and satire consists of various concerts and street performances held throughout the city. The highlight, however, is the decoration of the market stalls. Vendors use their merchandise (fruits, vegetables, meat, or fish) to create elaborate displays that depict scenes and characters from the latest financial, political, or social scandals. En poco tiempo nos hemos hecho expertos en mascarillas y han salido multitud de versiones y accesorios en torno a este producto que nos ayuda a luchar contra la pandemia del COVID-19 que estamos viviendo. Pero en Asia van por delante. Ya vivieron otra epidemia que les llevó a usar mascarilla y muchos países tienen grandes problemas de contaminación, por eso no es extraño que la coreana LG tenga ya a punto este producto. Una mascarilla con dos filtros y un mecanismo de ventilación que, según afirma, sirve para purificar el aire y la contaminación. La nota enviada por la marca en la que se anuncia el lanzamiento de su nuevo LG PuriCare Weareable Air Purifier no dice expresamente que el weareable sirva contra el COVID-19, pero sí que sirve como alternativa a las mascarillas que usamos puesto que según dice “soluciona el problema de las mascarillas caseras de dudosa calidad y la escasez de las mascarillas de usar y tirar”. Según los expertos de Xataka, para decir que es una mascarilla anti COVID-19, necesitaría ciertos requisitos que de momento no cumple. Según informan, el uso de la mascarilla consigue que respiremos aire purificado gracias a los filtros y el ventilador. Existen dos modos, en uno el ventilador funciona de forma más suave y en otro de forma más intensa. La batería dura ocho horas en el primer modo y dos horas en el segundo.

Tones & I Toni Watson, known professionally as Tones and I, is an Australian singer and songwriter. Her second single, “Dance Monkey”, was released in May 2019 and reached number one in over 30 countries. Her fame grew since the release of the song. On September 2017, the singer-songwriter travelled to Byron Bay to try busking there. At an early performance, she met Jackson Walkden-Brown who became one of her talent managers. Why do so many rebel against the use of masks and other measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19? These antisocial personality traits are commonly known as sociopathy

According to the DSM-V, the manual of psychological disorders, people who present these personality traits do not distinguish between good and evil, they do not feel as much empathy or have remorse, they do not hesitate, sometimes they use lies or deception, they are insensitive, cynical, and disrespectful to others, they are arrogant, consider themselves superior, and are generally more prone to breaking rules. Doesn’t this remind us of anybody we know? That said, it is not surprising that new research in Brazil has found that people who do not care about compliance with measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 tend to show higher levels of traits associated with antisocial personality disorder or sociopathy. The study has been published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences.

According to the study authors, “compliance with containment measures varies enormously between people.” According to their conclusions, “this is related, at least partially, to psychological factors such as personality traits.” In the study carried out through the Internet, 1,578 Brazilian adults were interviewed who completed a battery of tests to measure maladaptive personality traits, as well as evaluations of empathy and compliance with COVID-19 prevention measures. Those who scored higher on the measures of callousness, deception, hostility, impulsiveness, manipulation, and risk-taking tended to lessen the standards of social distancing, frequent hand washing, and wearing a mask in public. As the researchers clarify, “the lowest levels of empathy and the highest levels of insensitivity and risky behaviour are directly associated with non-compliance with prevention measures. These features explain, at least partially, the reason why people continue not to adhere to preventive measures, even with the increasing number of cases and deaths. Exposing oneself and others to risks, even when they can be avoided, is a typical trait of people with antisocial tendencies and low levels of empathy. This study agrees with and reinforces the findings of a similar study conducted in the United States that associated “dark” personality traits with failure to adhere to prevention standards designed to stop the spread of COVID-19.
