Every building has routine processes and repetitive habits or similar situations that can be easily automatized. For example turning the lights on to illuminate dark stairs and turning them off even when there is nobody at home, which may done to simulate occupation, or automatically turning down air conditioning systems when the external temperature drops, or controlling cameras and security devices, etc.
Adopting “domotiocs” means making your home appear intelligent because its computer systems can monitor many aspects of daily living. There is very little limit as to what your intelligent home can do including ensuring that the refrigerator is able to inventory its own contents, suggest menus and shopping lists, recommend healthy alternatives, and even routinely order groceries. Imagine the smart home systems that even ensures a continuously cleaned cat litter box or a house plant that is forever watered. The idea of a smart home sounds like something out of a science fiction film. However, smart home technology is real, and it's becoming increasingly sophisticated. Coded signals are sent through the home's wiring (or even wirelessly) to switches and outlets that are programmed to operate appliances and electronic devices in every part of the house.
Home automation can be especially useful for the elderly, people with physical or cognitive impairments, and disabled persons who wish to live independently. Think of your house like it is one, big computer. If you ever opened up the "box" or CPU of your home computer, you'll find tiny wires and connectors, switches and whirling discs. To make it all work, you have to have an input device (like a mouse or a keyboard), but even more importantly, each of the components has to be able to work with each other. Utilizing home automation leads to more efficient and intelligent energy saving techniques. By integrating information and communication technologies (ICT) with renewable energy systems such as solar power or wind power, homes can autonomously make decisions about whether to store

Crispy-Skinned Salmon with Lemon Sauce A pleasant summer recipe
INGREDIENTS • • • • •
4 – 150 grs. skin-on salmon fillets 2 Tbsp. plus 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil Sea salt 1 small lemon 1 small shallot, finely chopped

2 tsp. black sesame seeds1 tsp. honey ½ tsp. toasted sesame oil Freshly ground black pepper 1 cup torn basil leaves
METHOD

Prepare a grill for medium heat. Rub salmon with 2 Tbsp. olive oil; season both sides with salt.

Cut ends off lemon and discard. Place lemon upright and slice off outer lobes in 4 sections, leaving a square-shaped core and seeds behind. Finely chop lobes (flesh, pith, and all) and transfer to a small bowl (you should have about 1/3 cup). Squeeze out juice from core over bowl. Add shallot, sesame seeds, honey, sesame oil, and remaining 1/3 cup olive oil; season with salt and lots of pepper. Toss to combine.

Clean and oil grate, then immediately place salmon on grill skin side down. Cover grill and cook, skin side down the entire time, until skin is lightly charred and fish is opaque, 6–8 minutes. Transfer salmon to a plate and let cool slightly.

Emerging data suggest that the sequelae of infection with SARS-CoV-2 and the disease it causes, covid-19, could vary in presentation and extend beyond the typical post viral recovery period. A new study from the University of Bologna has looked at nails and small number of patients have noticed that their nails appear discoloured and slightly deformed weeks after the disease has passed. Cheeses are foods that are widely accepted by consumers and there are several hundred varieties. Some varieties attract more attention, namely blue cheeses and those with a mouldy white rind. The appearance and the peculiar aroma of these dairy products are due to the moulds that compose them.

WHAT ROLE DO MUSHROOMS PLAY IN CHEESE? Fungi are a group of organisms that are not part of either the animal kingdom or the plant kingdom. They belong to a separate kingdom, the Fungi kingdom. The mushrooms and when microscopic they are known as “moulds” and “yeasts”, the latter primarily used in making beer, wine or bread due to their fermenting quality. However, moulds can play a dual role in food technology and blue cheeses such as Roquefort and others like Camembert with a mouldy white rind owe their characteristics to the development of moulds. In blue-veined cheeses, mould (Penicillium roqueforti*), with its characteristic brush-like shape and blue-green mycelium, grows in the hollows inside the paste. In those with white bark, the mould that grows on the surface is P.camemberti , with a cottony white mycelium. This one gives you that striking looking crust.
*Penicillium Roqueforti These mushrooms, in addition to providing their colour, produce various enzymes that break down the proteins and fats in the paste. Thus, they generate a collection of compounds that give the flavour and smell so peculiar to these varieties of cheese. This happens because fungi need to degrade the substrate where they grow for their growth. For this reason, other species that grow naturally on cheeses produce those familiar blue stains (who hasn’t had a mouldy piece of cheese in their fridge?) IS IT DANGEROUS TO EAT MOLDY CHEESE? Depends. This is because many moulds and, in particular, those that grow on aged cheeses, produce toxic substances called mycotoxins. Continued consumption of these could lead to health problems. This isn why, in the case of the aforementioned cheeses (blue and white rind), the mushrooms used are selected and their consumption is not considered a risk for the consumer. However, other cheeses that develop uncontrolled superficial spontaneous growth fungi, or those that deteriorate naturally, could pose a danger. These blue mushrooms are also Penicillium but they belong to other species. In a recent research carried out by the authors at the University of León, we have found a dominant fungus species (a Penicillium ) in the alteration of Castellano / Zamorano type pressed paste cheeses. This fungus, if it occurs in large quantities and depending on the strain, can produce mycotoxins in cheese. Other studies have also found it in different varieties of cheese. 38

EATING OR THROWING AWAY MOLDY FOOD Isolating and, above all, identifying mushrooms from cheese is not an easy task. It takes a lot of time, material, equipment and specialized personnel to do it. Therefore, in the light of current knowledge, it is best to avoid the consumption of cheeses with uncontrolled spontaneous growth moulds (especially those with blue rind). If the fungus is superficial growing, we can remove the bark. If the fungus is under the bark, we must remove at least 2.5 cm of the part that surrounds it. With regards to other foods, it is generally considered that the mouldy part can be eliminated in the case of solids, due to the difficulty of mycotoxins to migrate inside. In the case of fruits, it depends. Normally, the fungus affects its taste and this makes it not worth keeping the non-mouldy part, except in large pieces. It is difficult to generalize and we must stop to assess each food and the risks that its consumption entails. For example, the mouldy apple can pose a risk since the main responsible for its rot is a toxigenic Penicillium . Finally, in semi-solid foods (a yogurt or tomato paste, for example) the food should not be consumed, since mycotoxins diffuse throughout the product more easily. In conclusion, lovers of blue cheeses can enjoy these controlled moulds but refrain from other varieties with spontaneous intruders and spoiled products, as mentioned above. La cita diaria con Discópolis acaba desgraciadamente A las 14 horas en Radio 3 se emite un programa veteranísimo que comenzó su andadura allá por la mitad de la década de los 80 y que nos dirá adiós por jubilación forzosa de su director el 21 de junio, habiendo superado los 11.000 programas, que se dice pronto. Su conductor y director desde entonces no ha cambiado, José Miguel López, y digo que no ha cambiado no solo porque nunca otro locutor ha hecho el programa, sino también porque sigue siendo el mismo periodista entusiasta y apasionado de aquellos inicios. En este mítico programa se realiza, como reza su cabecera, un viaje cosmopolita y abierto al mundo musical y en él hay cabida para muy diversos estilos musicales, desde el rock, al folk, pasando por el jazz, los cantautores, el flamenco, la New Age, las músicas del mundo y las vanguardias actuales. Y cuando digo rock me estoy refiriendo a todo el amplio abanico de apellidos que le han ido surgiendo en el transcurso de los años, es decir, rock sinfónico, progresivo, andaluz, alemán, soft rock, hard rock, arena rock y un largo etcétera. En él he podido escuchar con atención inusitada los grandes grupos y solistas de los años 70 en una serie que ha durado más de tres años y en los que José Miguel López ha pinchado los vinilos 44

Es el caso de Amor diverso que, siguiendo la organización cronológica que tiene la colección permanente del museo, selecciona algunas de sus obras para rendir homenaje al colectivo LGTBIQ+. Además, estando en plena celebración del Orgullo, no se nos ocurre un momento más oportuno para darnos un paseíto por la historia del arte queer. Desde Bronzino a Hockney, el itinerario recorre temas, iconografía y personajes relacionados con la cultura, la sensibilidad y la experiencia del colectivo, que ha estado siempre presente en el arte, a veces de manera casi invisible. Y propone una mirada diferente para abordar conceptos como identidad y orientación sexual. Un total de 16 obras, datadas entre 1533 y 1977, que no se encuentran en ninguna sala especial sino que tenemos que ir buscando dentro del recorrido y de las que podemos disfrutar y aprender sobre ellas mediante una guía online. Entre la selección se encuentra el San Sebastián de Bronzino: “una de las primeras obras donde se forja la lectura homoerótica de este santo”, tal y como se puede leer en la guía del museo, que es en la actualidad un icono gay. También está Hércules en la corte de Onfalia de Hans Cranach, un cuadro en el que el héroe mitológico aparece travestido o la androginia del David con la cabeza de Goliat y dos soldados de Valentin de Boulogne. Aunque no solo se centra en lo representado dentro de la obra sino también en la sexualidad e identidad de sus artistas.
