I just heard that in Milan, Italy, they bannedthesaleofice-cream and even bottled water, take-away, and alcoholic drinks vending machines between midnight and 6am during the summer months. Apparently this is to stop the noise and disturbances caused by tourists in the middle of the night. So it is not just some parts of Spain that have the problem, it seems to be a problemcausedbymassivecheapholidaytourismorganisedby airlines and similar tour operators. Let them go to Turkey and Greece.
Of course tourism is welcome in Spain but what we are looking for is well to do visitors and in particular, as many foreign visitors whowishtomakeSpaintheirhomeresidence, especiallyBritish.

OPINION

The Belgian artist Ann Massa, from the Leuven Academy, presents her abstract and figurative collection entitled VINTAGE FIRE AND COLOR that we could interpret on two levels. Ann Massa's art is a celebration of life itself. Each of her works is a tribute to the beauty of nature, captured in the most vibrant colours. Her paintings are more than visual experiences. The artist reveals her passion for the colours and decorations of the 70s and 80s with a chromatic palette and very defined geometric lines as seen in her exhibitions in Liege, Brussels and Paris, Barcelona and soon to Monaco for the InternationalContemporaryArtFairinthemonthofAugustwithExcellenceArtGallery.
Giuseppe Carnevale, in charge of curating the exhibition at the Cosentino City Malaga facilities invites you to meet the artist and to experience this unique exhibition, which defines the works as a constant internal dialogue that Ann maintains with her desire to conveyherchromaticimpulseasabondbetweencolourandcolour.

When does tourism get out of control?
Spain is the nearest and most convenient country with all the necessary amenities to offer a good, guaranteed enjoyable holiday, especially for the UK.
But there are specific area of Spain that have become exceedingly popular with holiday makers. These are specific areas that over the years have acquired traditional fame and popularity with holiday makers, a popularity that, over the years, has been over promoted by the foreign press and overexploited by airlines with cheap fares, tour operators, hotels and
even private property owners, all offering an attraction to a lower quality of tourism. Basically it is caused by excessive greed by individuals and companiesThese locations mainly refer to Spanish small islands, as opposed to the mainland where there is not such a serious problem. Something that the foreign press does not differentiate clearly enough to the detriment of Spanish tourism as a whole.
Given the amount of residents’ complaints from these area, which might include Barcelona for its airport and proximity to the Balearic Islands, the Spanish regional governments are now compelled to be seen to impose restrictions that presumably will affect the level of tourism to these areas, while ensuring to avoid on overspill in other areas, not so affected
It is a pity that the foreign press do not highlight the problem for what it is instead of painting what seems to be a prejudicial and preconceived information.

While EU residents have the freedom to enter and leave Spain as they wish, naturally there is scope in imposing certain controls to ensure that non EU visitors are not intending to mingle with the crowds and disappear, some measures might be the checking of passports and even ensuring that the visitors have the means to get backwheretheycamefrom.
Even introducing tourist taxes does not solve the whole problem, while it does not mean that Spain is desperate for money as some have said, with the result that Spanish regional governments have adopted a measure to try and control the number of tourists in any area at any time by regulating the amount of accommodation available ‘’When the theatre if fullandnomoreseatsareavailable,
you wait for the next performance’’. This does makemoresense.
Obtaining a tourist housing license is now the first and most important obligation. The owners of this type of housing have the duty to register their accommodation and notify it to the competentauthority.
To have control over guests the owner must keep a record of all the guests who visit his accommodation and pass it on to the Police, so as to have a database of the people staying in thistypeofaccommodation.
These properties must display an identification plate showing the licence number. And, of course, like any other accommodation business the income derive from tourist rental must be declared.
Classification and type of use: holiday accommodation is residential units rented occasionally, while tourist apartments are designed and intended exclusively for the accommodation of tourists, that is they have a purely commercial purpose However note that each region has its own rules and a central Registry of tourist homes and by obtaining the touristic license, your property will be included in such Registry, which can be publicly accessed byanyone

Estepona
by Juan Emilio Ríos Vera, Presidente del Ateneode Algeciras

People feel older if they are under-slept.
People feel older if they sleep less. Just two nights of broken sleep is enough to make people feel up to four years older, research has found. But when people in a study were allowed to sleep for nine hours, they felt just threemonthsyounger.
Those who have less sleep are also more inclined to eat unhealthily, exercise less and seek out socialisation and new experiences less, meaning the overall feeling of being older maybeintensified.Peoplewhoprefertogoto bed and get up late typically felt older than their real age, but early risers felt older if their sleepwasdisrupted.Ifyouwanttofeelyoung, the most important thing is to protect your sleep. MUSIC NEW RELEASES
The Stone Stone said that this 'might be Taylor Swift's most personal album yet.' The Tortured Poets Department combines the intimacy of Folklore and Evermore with the synth-pop gloss of Midnights to create music that’s wildly ambitious and gloriously chaotic. Her words are powerful - poetic and stand out impressive instrumentation. With depth and maturity, Taylor's 2024 album is definitely one to check out.

Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” rises to No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart (dated April 27). Boone lands his initial leader on the survey. He previously charted two songs on Pop Airplay: “Ghost Town” (No. 24 peak in March 2022) and “In the Stars” (No. 36, September 2023). “It was inspired by a relationship that I had just gotten into, for the first time in my life, I felt like I was extremely out of control of the way this relationship would turn out.” Benson Boone
