Mathieu Gazaix is an artist originally from the South of France, who knows La Clusaz very well having lived here for ten years. His black ballpoint pen illustrations of the La Clusaz Ram emblem have adorned the cover of the La Clusaz brochure for several years, he has also created wildlife drawings along the handle of Opinel knives in celebration of 125th anniversary of the brand.

MET WELKE MIDDELEN TEKEN JIJ?

Ik gebruik hoofdzakelijk twee technieken. De eerste is de balpen. Hiermee kan ik het figuratieve en analytische aspect verbeteren via vignettering. Ik hou ervan om het gebruiksgemak en het nette resultaat. Als ik verf of inkt gebruik, maak ik de ondergrond snel vuil. Een pen is perfect (lacht). De tweede techniek waarmee ik me goed kan uitdrukken, is graveren. Het principe is heel anders dan de pen.
