Another of our own splendid trulli, with two en-suite bedrooms, this special trullo is in a lovely, elevated location, overlooking extensive grounds, with ancient olive trees, almonds, pomegranates and countless other Mediterranean trees and shrubs. This is a fabulous, comfortable and intriguing trullo, with masses of exposed stone, an unusual star-vaulted ceiling, and a “Sovranotype” cone. One guest described it as “inspirational design”. We all love it inside and out and think it’s one of the most romantic places ever! Impressive double gates, a sweeping driveway and "Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers" stone steps, set the scene for this most romantic trullo. Unbelievably spacious for two, we aimed for spectacular. From the lovely elevated location, overlooking the cascading terraces, with mature Mediterranean trees and shrubs, to the generous tasteful interior, this trullo is really fantastic. The pool (shared only with Trullo Mandorla) is private and sheltered - absolute heaven! This is a dream of a place - a very special trullo indeed.

As cute as they come, a pretty stone trullo in a delightful location. Annie loves its charm, its location and the pool. One of a pair with shared pool, Trullo Palma can be rented on its own, as a love nest for two, or together with Lamia Mario, which sits above and behind it, to make interesting accommodation for larger groups or two families. Both are about 400m down a track, in a secluded and private location and, elevated above the countryside, they have magnificent views towards a wooded hillside and Martina Franca, in the distance. The one-bedroomed trullo is undeniably dinky and all the cuter for it. Its honey-coloured exposed stone and different levels give it great character, and it feels cosy and comfortable. The panoramic terraces and pool are a dream.

Take Lamia Mario only, as a spacious villa, sharing a pool with Trullo Palma just below its terrace, or, take the trullo and the lamia together, to have the whole property to yourselves - ideal for larger groups, two families or two couples. The location is as described for Trullo Palma but Lamia Mario is in an even more elevated position, so its panorama is even more spectacular. It also has a much larger terrace, perfect for outdoor living. The one-bedroomed lamia is a superb example of a truly charming traditional stone building, brought up to modern day standards. A dream of a place. Virtually equidistant between Ostuni and Cisternino, this boutique masseria is so lovely and everything about it shouts “Puglia”. Not over-restored, the charming Teo, Roberto and family have aimed to change as little as possible and the result is stunning. Marulivo and Pisciotta are a dream. Annie didn’t want to leave. Arriving tired, climbing steps to a 14th century monastery, where every room is different and often not huge, you could be forgiven for feeling unsure. But…your choice could not be better. Marulivo is very special and unique. The terrace is enchanting, with blue, blue views and real wow factor. The higgledy-piggledy stairways and courtyards are a joy. The owners are wonderful. Traffic-free Pisciotta hovers above the sea. A picturesque Cilento coast town, it feels like an old film, but has all the right contemporary ingredients - nice bars, good restaurants, cute shops. You will leave Marulivo with sadness, but that’s OK go back! We can’t wait. 84
