The Challenge Seal Communications need to keep their finger on the pulse, being active and knowledgeable within the markets they promote and communication is their strongest asset. Having expanded and outgrown their original IT infrastructure and, as great exploiters of technology, they wanted to build a dynamic and reliable IT system to support their work into the future. With 40 plus staff and their own in house design department their expectations of and requirements are varied, demanding and truly state of the art. They couldn’t afford any downtime, even over weekends staff require remote access to the server.
The solution also needed to be Apple Mac friendly as the design department solely use Apple Mac workstations.

The Solution Information Solutions Limited thrives on providing solutions for their clients and jumped at the challenge to provide Seal Communications with the system they wanted. This particular software upgrade is currently one of the hardest to undertake but with solid working knowledge and planning; we developed a procedure to migrate the entire old domain including email, users, profiles and printers to the new via a temporary server. This allowed us to perform the migration on a Monday morning with all users logged in. The only interruption to service was as their files were copied between servers. A centrally managed antivirus solution was installed along with sophisticated anti spam measures. We configured our alert services which inform us and key members of staff as to problems with the system. We determined the most cost effective method to securely connect the offices over the internet and built in back up should the connection fail.
