We are seeing velvet continue to gain popularity as well as floral prints. We recently purchased a printed velvet we know will be a hit with our 2020 couples. For more neutral palettes, natural, tight woven linens are also a great choice, and we are seeing an expansion of color and prints in these fabrics.

Earth tone linens, or solid bold coloured linens are both embraced in 2020 wedding trends. In fact, we have recently introduced in our wedding shows, an array of colourful palette for our guest napkins, and that added another level of texture in the presentations.

I have seen some of the 3-d printed linens though I am not sure if everyone is offering them yet. They have the look of lace and are very intricate with detail and texture. I am hoping we will see more of this in 2020.

Linens are still optimal choices for adding colour and texture, but there's definitely more of a desire for bespoke options that can be reused in the couple's home after the wedding. This feeds into the increasing desire for less waste in weddings, as well as 'greener' choices like organic cottons and fairtrade fabrics like bamboo-based options. Gone are the days where bleached white cotton and linen are the usual choice.

If you ask me, no matter what year it is linen is elegant and timeless. Linen trends in 2020 will be more customised than ever and will likely be more loose and unstructured than ever. There is always a place for a well folded napkin, and the knot will still be used a lot. But when you think 2020 linen trends, think naked tables that make a statement on their own, 100% linen napkins and unique, custom made items that make a statement.

Layered tablescapes, styled in art deco, with a mixture of textures, patterns, and colors. Some of the most popular styles will be velvet, tapestry-like fabric, and bold metallic prints. Many of these trends will be going along with the color block trend. 2020 is the year of bold statements and individuality.
