Where is table design headed in 2020?

Table styling remains simple yet elegant. We're seeing more detail included in the layout of cutlery, glassware and napery. Couples are really focussing on a fine dining layout mixed with a more relaxed setting of the venue/location.

We're seeing more natural elements coming back on trend with timber table tops remaining uncovered, and loose/ relaxed style florals for centrepieces. Elegant tapered candle sticks are also making a come back to really balance that elegant fine dining style with the relaxed nature of Australian life.

What linen trends will we see in 2020?

A lot more texture is coming through in our linen selections for 2020 and the use of organic cottons. Gathered or knotted napkins laced with a ribbon detail or simple embellishment and gathered long romantic table runners are playing a key role in recept ion styling.

We're also seeing the come back of fabrics used in backdrops that can flow freely in the breeze and soft flowing draping over ceremony arches too to really set a soft and romantic tone for the day.

What lighting trends will we see in 2020?

Festoon lighting is making it's way out as fairy lights make a come back. Couples are preferring the soft twinkle of fairy lights as a pose to the bigger rustic party light style of the festoon, allowing lighting to take a step back from being a prominent feature of the styling to instead quietly compliment the over-all styling design.

Candles are still a prominent design element in styling design. The humble tea light candle always fits in perfectly, however tall tapered candles in elegant holders are proving to be a staple item in 2020 styling.
