Top Photography Trends with Mike Busada
OF MIKE B PHOTOGRAPHY
What are the top photography trends we'll see in 2020?
Wedding albums are back in a big way. In the recent past, a lot of couples were opting for digital products, but this has changed. Nearly all of my clients for 2020 have purchased packages with albums versus about 50% last year. Tangible products are definitely in demand, and my clients are willing to spend a little extra to get them.
What's out in photography and cinematography in 2020?
We are seeing a trend toward more relaxed, documentary, wedding photography style. We have always captured weddings using a combination of classic and photojournalistic coverage, but the emphasis is definitely trending away from classic posed port raiture, and toward a more candid style, across all weddings.
What are some of the more unique trends you're seeing that will be emerging in 2020?
In order to reduce the time being in front of the camera on the wedding day, many couples are opting to add a post wedding session to allow more time for them to be photographed together in a more relaxed fashion without time constraints. This usually happens within a day or two of the wedding day, and this does mean that the couple will have to be dress for pictures again. The resulting photos, however, can be both romantic and dramatic.
