Can you give our brides an exclusive tip for their wedding day?

How did you get into the makeup business?

Since it’s the holiday season, can you describe a few festive changes our readers could make in their beauty routine?

I love all forms of art. For me, makeup, in particular, seemed like it had the potential to have an impact on someone.

I loved making people look and feel beautiful.

This biggest thing I see happen with most brides is that they stress way too much about their skin. If you stress too much, you will get a stress pimple! Brides need to relax, drink water, and take some deep breaths. Possibly exfoliate a little more than usual. But put the microscope down!

Do not touch your skin.

The Holiday season is a great time to play around with new products and test out looks that you wouldn’t normally try. w w w.we d l u xe .co m

A bold lip is beautiful for the holiday season, anything from a just-bitten red to a deep plum lip could really amp up your normal look.

What should a bride NEVER do with her wedding day makeup?

You should never look like a completely different person. Save the risky makeup looks for another day. Your wedding makeup should be an expression of the most beautiful version of yourself. You want to look back on your photographs and be reminded of how you were at that time in your life.

What are your five must-have products?

24K Biocellulose Mask (of course) • Radford Plumping Gloss (the perfect finish for any makeup look) • An intensely hydrating, multi-purpose balm (One that I keep in my purse at all times, for lips, hands, and face).

• Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day Overnight Cap • Lash extensions (Cuts my getting ready time in half!)

What do you recommend a bride do to make sure her skin is in tip top shape for her wedding day?

The best thing you can do is consult a skin specialist that you trust, that you feel really helps you with your skin, to get on a customized regime (ideally starting six months in advance). If you want to do something more DIY from home, you can get a really good enzyme exfoliant and a jar of organic coconut oil. Exfoliate your skin 3-7 days per week, use a generous amount of coconut oil right after and then put regular night cream on top in the evenings. The first few days your skin may feel like you have something on it or it may feel heavier than normal, but don’t worry! Your skin will adjust very quickly to this routine and will glow as a result.

This is like going to the gym for your skin, you are training it to be newer and brighter much faster.

What are the keys to long lasting wedding day makeup?

Having your makeup done by a professional makeup artist will make it last. I like to use products that are wet/dry, meaning that they last all day long regardless of if you are dancing or sweating.

If you could work with one celebrity, dead or alive, who would it be?

Missy Elliot. (Have you seen her latest video?!)

What is next in the world of Radford?

We are currently developing a small line of makeup and skincare products with a focus on a beautiful and glowing complexion. The idea is “perfect skin made simple.”

Tell us a bit about the 24K Gold mask — why is this a must have product?

The 24K Gold Mask is basically a facial in your purse. The mask is made out of biocellulose, which is a material that makes it easier for product to penetrate the outer layer of the skin. The mask is brightening, anti-aging, antiinflammatory and very nourishing. The mask is great for travelling. I like to wear one after I get off of a flight or sometimes before I go out to prep my skin.

Kyle wed Amelia Warren (CEO of Epicure Selections) in Provence, France this past September, sporting not one but three custom Indochino looks for the weekend affair. Tell our readers a little bit about yourself - Where do you live? What do you do for a living? What are some of your hobbies and interests?

In terms of deciding what to wear for your wedding, where did you find your style inspiration?

I split my time between Vancouver, where I co-founded Indochino, and Victoria, where my wife and family live. When I’m not working, I enjoy movies, reading and walking.

I was lucky to have the help of my extremely talented Product and Merchandising team, led by Tom Kearnan.

We felt it was important to wear outfits that would stand the test of time when we looked at the photographs 30 years from now. Our style inspiration came from the location of the wedding and each outfit reflected the rustic French countryside.

How would you describe your personal style?

Classic with a hint of flair.

What prompted you to start Indochino?

My co-founder and close friend Heikal Gani needed a suit for a conference and had a difficult time finding one — what to get; how it should fit; how much to pay, etc. We both saw an opportunity to do things much better, and that’s where the original idea for Indochino came from.

Where did you shop for the pieces you wore to your wedding and the events leading up to it (aside from Indochino, of course!)?

My entire outfit was from Indochino! With the exception of my dress shoes and belt, which I purchased at Allen Edmonds in Boston, and my colourful dress socks, which were from Outlooks in Victoria, the best menswear store I know of.

Where did Amelia shop the dress and accessories she wore for both wedding and the events?

She purchased the dress for the civil ceremony from a wonderful Bridal Boutique called White Peony in Victoria. Her wedding dress was by Oscar De La Renta and was purchased through Kleinfeld.

Where did you honeymoon and why?

I have a roster of suits and dress shirts that can be mixed and matched, which means that I have a near infinite amount of outfits in my closet.

After the wedding we drove through southern France along the north coast of Spain before ending our honeymoon in Portugal. We love food and planned our trip around some amazing culinary capitals. San Sebastián, in particular, is home to some amazing food and innovative restaurants.

What advice would you give to grooms when it comes to picking their wedding day outfit?

Tell us about some of your favourite hotspots in Vancouver for eating, drinking and shopping.

Chances are you want to wear your suit after the big day so I’d recommend going for something classic and wearable in a neutral colour choice. This will also keep your photographs from dating quickly.

When it comes to shopping, I naturally have to call out Indochino: we are truly innovating how men get dressed and all of our showroom locations are beautiful.

Outside my natural bias, Outlooks in Victoria has what I consider to be the best men’s apparel. As to restaurants, Nook in Vancouver is lovely and the food there is delicious.

What is your daily “uniform” like? What items from your closet do you find yourself reaching for?

How would you describe the style of your wedding?

We were blown away by the beauty and magical charm of southern France. We

knew getting married there would make our special day even more memorable.

Like the outfits, we chose a classic French style with a few simple accents.

What is an indulgence you would never forgo?

I love not having to wake up to an alarm.

I schedule meetings for later in the day to ensure I can sleep without hearing the buzz in the morning.
