STUFFED SHELLS

These cheesy, saucy, stuffed shells are the perfect addition to your Chanukah menu. They’re not your typical pasta dish and so full of flavor.

Ingredients:

3/4 of a pack jumbo shells, cooked according to package directions

1 jar marinara sauce, divided

1 zucchini, finely diced

2 portobello mushrooms, finely diced

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 egg

1 cup shredded cheese

2 tsp kosher salt

Black pepper, to taste

1 cup shredded cheese

Parmesan cheese

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°.

2. In a large bowl, combine diced zucchini, mushrooms, ricotta cheese, egg, 1 cup shredded cheese, salt and pepper.

3. In a 9x13, pour half the marinara sauce and spread over the pan.

4. Place a spoonful of filling in each shell. Place into pan, open side up. Repeat with remaining filling.

5. Once completed, pour remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed pasta. Top with 1 cup shredded cheese and a generous amount of Parmesan.

6. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

BAKED ZITI

Baked ziti is the ultimate comfort food. This version is super simple to make and is so delicious. It’s easy to double the recipe to cater to a large crowd..

Ingredients:

1 box ziti pasta, cooked according to package instructions

1 jar marinara sauce

½ cup heavy cream

1 ½ cups shredded cheese

8 slices American cheese, cut into chunks

½ tbsp Italian spice seasoning

2 cups shredded cheese

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°.

2. Place your cooked pasta in a large pot. Add marinara sauce, heavy cream, 1 ½ cups shredded cheese, American cheese and Italian seasoning to the pot.

2. Over a medium-high heat, melt everything together. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 pan. Top with remaining 2 cups of cheese.

3. Bake for 25 minutes and broil for an additional 5.

ONE POT ORZO

This easy, one pot orzo recipe is a perfect side dish for a Chanukah gathering. It’s a spinoff of risotto, which takes longer to make. Simple seasonings, but packed with flavor, it will enhance your next meal.

Ingredients: 1 package orzo

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 onion, finely diced

1 stick butter

4 cups hot water, with 3 Tbsp consommé dissolved

2 cups red milk

2 tsp kosher salt

Directions:

1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes.

2. Add the orzo and salt, and stir. Cook for 5 minutes.

3. Add liquids and bring to a boil. Lower flame and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
