McGrath Ryde has more exciting news to announce following the team’s recent consolidation and move into its highly-anticipated, primely-positioned headquarters at 128 Blaxland Road, Ryde.

The McGrath Ryde team has once again expanded its footprint in the local real estate industry, with their merger and acquisition of wonderful local real estate practice, RYDE REAL ESTATE, in Putney.

“After three generations in the industry trading as Ryde Real Estate, with client relationships spanning many decades, it is with great pride that Ryde Real Estate’s legacy will continue with the exciting expansion of McGrath Ryde and an incredible team of more than 30 agents,” McGrath Ryde principal Robert Bagala told The Weekly Times.

Boasting a rich and productive history, Ryde Real Estate’s story began with Mario Boccalatte opening its doors in 1960 after making the move from his sugar cane farm in Babinda, Far North Queensland, with his wife and daughter Margaret in tow.

Ryde Real Estate was then located in Church Street, Ryde and Mario made many friends, servicing countless immigrant families coming to settle in Australia.

When Mario retired, daughter Margaret Lombardo took over the family business, emerging as one of the few women in real estate at the time.

Fast forward to 1978 when their son Eric joined the family business, and of course his wife Debrah thereafter in 1985, to continue the family business as Ryde Real Estate.

In 1996 they relocated to their new office on the corner of Morrison Road and Charles Street in Putney where Margaret continued working into her seventies to retire in 2002. Debrah and Eric carefully selected the McGrath Ryde practice as they recognised its role in the local property market as one of the biggest real estate practices with a formidable reputation for its collection of highly reputable agents.
