Pumpkin Pie Baking Contest

The 2019 pumpkin pie baking contest is hosted by Valley Credit Union and will take place inside of the Valley Credit Union building on N. Broadway starting at 1 p.m. with a special panel of Judges from KTVQ the Chefs and Cooks of Montana. The contest results will be announced under skypoint at 3:30 p.m.. The contest is open

The Kid’s Fun Zone will be located on 2nd Ave N. just East of Skypoint. Wise Wonders Children’s museum is hosting the Kids craft tent beginning at 9 a.m. with free activities to include pumpkin painting and an over-sized block play area. KTVQ sponsored additional fun in the Kids Fun Zone that families with young kids will not want to miss; Free unicorn or cowboy pony photos from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and free pumpkin balloons at the KTVQ booth for the first 100 kids to swing by.

The 2019 Harvestfest will feature a wide range of live entertainment under Skypoint from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. including various forms of dance, and live music.

Little Bighorn Battlefield Schedule

Beginning September 3, 2019, Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument will move to its fall hours. The Monument and the visitor center will be open from 8 AM to 6 PM. The tour road to the RenoBenteen site and Monument trails will close at 5:30 PM. The orientation movie is shown regularly in the visitor center, and ranger talks will be provided intermittently in September.

Entrance fees are $25.00 per private vehicle. Interagency, Senior, and Access passes are also available. For further information, please call (406) 638 -3217.

Nightly Activities at Laurel Healing Field On September 11-14, 2019, the field next to South Elementary School along S. 5th Street, Laurel, will be transformed into a panorama of red, white and blue that cannot be adequately described, but once experienced it is not to be forgotten. The community, friends, and family all share a common bond when it comes to a loss of a Hero, and the Healing Field® is the perfect way to express love and gratitude to those Heroes.

Each night of the event there will different activities, including flag folding, the reading of names of those killed on Sept. 11, 2001, and the playing of Taps at dusk.

There will be no charge to visit the Healing Field® display. All are invited to walk through the ordered rows of flags. This is an event not to be missed.

The Laurel Exchange Club is looking for volunteers on September 10th and 15th to help set up and take down. They also need volunteers at their booth each day.
