Place a variety of fresh herbs and flowers in a mason jar (I used a few different sizes). Add water until jar is half full. Add 2-4 thin slices of lemons and limes. Add 10 drops of YL's Citronella essential oil. You can use Purification instead or mix the two equally. If you're using larger mason jars, considering using 15-20 drops of oil. Add more water until jar is full. Add a floating candle. Tie twine or ribbon around the jar. Place candles on tables or deck railings at your next party and enjoy!

STEP 1: SOFTEN DEAD FOOT SKIN Add 5 drops of Peppermint and 5 drops of Lemon essential oils to 1 cup Epsom Salt, and 1/4 cup Baking Soda. Stir to mix. (Make a large jar of this mixture to last you five days and all summer long.) You may also add 10 drops of Eucalyptus for a spa like feel. Or 5 drops of Tea Tree for anti-fungal-bacteria properties. Fill a large bowl or basin, big enough for both feet, with warm water and place it on a large towel in front of a chair or couch. Add 1/2 cup of salt/oil mixture to water and stir. Once salt has dissolved, place feet inside water and soak for 30 minutes. (Now is a good time to pick up that book or magazine you’ve been meaning to read, catch another episode of Suits, or shop for some cute sandals.) I like to have hot water in a stainless steel cup to pour over my feet after 15 minutes to warm up the water again. (It feels soooo good!) STEP 2: REMOVE LOOSE, DRY SKIN Remove feet from water and pat dry. On the towel, scrub your heels, toes and any other area, gently with a stiff toothbrush to remove all loose, dry skin. (Make sure you mark this toothbrush as foot brush.) This only takes a small amount of time. The skin should be easy to remove. Rinse feet with the water and pat dry with a towel. Once you have removed the excess skin, massage LavaMint Foot Scrub (click HERE for the video) onto dry feet, including toes, soles, and heels; then apply a small amount of warm water to transform the gel base into a milky lotion. Continue scrubbing over wet feet. Clean with a wet towel or rinse with water. You can also use a sugar or salt scrub (recipes on next page). If you have stubborn areas, take an emery board, pedicure stone or exfoliating tool and gently go back and forth over affected areas. Keep doing this until there is no more loose skin. (PRO TIP: To keep skin soft all summer long, use salt scrub in the shower on feet, elbows, knees...anywhere that needs a little TLC.) STEP 3: CUTICLE CARE Fill an empty 15ml bottle with V-6 or sweet almond oil. Add 5 drops each Tea Tree, Lavender, Frankincense and Lime oils and then continue to add more V-6 until the bottle is full. Gently push your cuticles back with a pedicure tool (this should take a few seconds, don’t overdo it.) Add 1 drop to your cuticles and rub in until absorbed. (You can also add a dropper to your bottle for easier application.) STEP 4: HYDRATE AND MOISTURIZE YL’s Coconut Lime Replenishing Body Butter is so nourishing and soothing! Or make your own moisturizer by mixing several drops of Vitamin E oil, 1/4 cup of YL V-6 carrier oil (or grapeseed oil) with 5 drops each of lemon and lime essential oils and rub on the affected areas, or all over your feet. Put socks on to keep the oil on your feet. Repeat this step twice a day. (CAUTION: Lemon and Lime essential oil compounds greatly increase UV sensitivity. Wait twelve hours to expose feet to the sun after applying.) STEP 5: REPEAT Repeat entire process for five days or until you get desired results. Then show off those beautiful feet in those cute sandals!

In a small bowl, mix all the ingredients together and store in an airtight jar. Apply in the bath or shower to areas that need extra exfoliating like feet, knees, and elbows. Be careful...the scrub could make your shower slippery!

DIY SCRUB SHELF LIFE? If you’re wondering how long sugar/salt scrubs last, I have good news for you! Since this sugar or salt scrub recipe above does not contain any water, it can last up to 6 months. I’d be surprised if it lasts that long though! Make sure to keep it sealed in a jar with a lid to ensure it stays fresh and free of contaminants. If you keep it in your shower, store your sugar/salt scrub away from the water stream to avoid water getting into the jar. As long as you keep it dry, your homemade sugar scrub will stay fresh for months.

1 cup organic coconut oil 1 cup organic solid cocoa butter (do not use lotion) 1 cup mango butter 15 drops of Lime Essential oil
Directions Warm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and cocoa butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes. Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden. Stir in Lime essential oil. Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes. Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying. Massage into dry skin!

Lotion Bar Recipe
1/4 cup Beeswax 1 Tbs. Shea Butter 2 Tbs. Cocoa Butter 2 Tbs. Almond Oil 1 Tbs. Jojoba Oil 30 drops essential oils 1/2 tsp Vitamin E oil
Directions: Add beeswax, shea butter and cocoa butter to a double boiler and slowly heat the oils until melted. Once melted, turn off the heat and add the almond and jojoba oils. Lastly, add essential oils and vitamin E. Pour into silicone mold. Let bars sit until completely hardened, then carefully remove from mold. This recipe makes 5 small 0.7 oz handheld lotion bars. Keep in a closed container when not in use. Best if used within 6 months. Just rub it on your feet and the heat from your body will melt the bar.
