Matters Arising Wendover Parish Council Page

View from the Chair

A new year is a good time for reflection in an organisation like WPC. 2020 was not my favourite year, though I did get a grandson out of it. The WPC, despite everything that we have all endured, is in good order. It has risen to meet the challenges of our times and it is, I think, closer to our community than it ever has been. Our professional staff has carried on maintaining and improving our estate. They have supported the Wendover Good Neighbour Scheme and enabled council to address some big issues in cooperation with parishioners and local organisations. For me, this is how a parish council should work. A new year is also a good time for personal reflection. As a result of my musings I have decided that this is a good time for me to step down from the chairmanship of WPC. Yes, this will be the last of my rustic ramblings on the back page. February’s council meeting will elect a new chairman. I am sad to go but it’s the right time for me to pursue other interests. I will still remain as a parish councillor to help with HS2 matters if council wishes. I would like to thank you all for supporting the WPC during my tenure. It is that support that has made the job so very rewarding. Tom Walsh, Chairman Wendover Parish Council
