From £10 The Alban Bun - The Original Hot Cross Bun The Alban Bun, now available at the Abbot’s Kitchen Café, has been a part of the Cathedrals Easter tradition for nearly 700 years. This predecessor of the Hot Cross Bun is said to originate in St Albans, where in 1361, a monk - Brother Thomas Rocliffe, developed an original recipe and gave the bun to the poor on Good Friday. www.stalbanscathedral.org
