ASPIRING ARTISTS ART STUDIO

Unleash your creativity! We offer quality art classes, workshops, and camps for kids, teens, and families. With small class sizes for personalized instruction, the art studio is a place where kids and youth are encouraged to be creative and curious while also learning how to properly use tools, work with a variety of art mediums, acquire artistic vocabulary, and gain an age appropriate understanding of the history of art and artists.

Our knowledgeable instructor engages students in exciting and challenging projects that grow artistic skills and let each artist's uniqueness shine through. We believe that art is for everyone, and offer positive encouraging studio experiences suitable for all ages, levels of experience, and interests.

From painting to pottery, unleash your creativity and try something new! In this course, kids will explore all an artist's toolkit has to offer to create a variety of artworks.

Sculpt, paint, and play with a variety of art media to create a variety of teddy bear and picnic themed artworks.

Join us as we explore a variety of drawing and watercolour styles, tools, and techniques. Artists will end the course by creating a final watercolour masterpiece.

Join us in the studio for these step-by-step workshops to create your very own canvas painting.

Pottery Workshops

4-7 Years

Get ready for some fun with mud! Children will learn some basic hand building techniques and then glaze their one-ofa-kind pottery pieces! Each workshop is a different theme. Clay pieces will be fired in the studio's kiln and be ready for pick up approximately 3-4 weeks after the workshop.

Workshop themes include:

Glass Filled Bird Baths, Spring Chickens, Terrific Turtles, Fathers Day Fridge Magnets, Cool Cameleons

ASPIRING ARTISTS

Family Pottery Workshops

4-12 Years, plus one adult

Get ready for some fun with mud! You and your little one will explore basic hand building techniques to create and then glaze one-of-a-kind pottery pieces! Clay items will be fired in the studio's kiln and ready for pick up 3-4 weeks after the workshop.

Tots in Tights

2-3 Years

Tiny dancers will tap their toes, twirl and whirl, learning the very basics of ballet with help from a parent or caregiver. Focus is on having fun, moving to music and participation in a group setting. Parent participation required.

Ballet & Jazz

3-5 Years

We will learn both the graceful, technical basics of ballet and the high energy, more fast-paced style of jazz dance. Students will work towards a simple jazz routine rounded out with beginner ballet technique and posture. Parents/Guardians do not join their child in the program room.

Dance Sampler

3-5 Years

For dancers who want to try it all! Each week we will spend time on both the graceful, technical basics of ballet and the high energy, more fast-paced style of jazz and hip hop. Students will also be introduced to tap dance and will put together special choreographed routines. Parents/Guardians do not join their child in the program room.

Hip Hop

3-5 Years

High energy, funky music and fun moves are sure to please in this dynamic class. Students will sample a few of the many diverse styles of hip hop and will build on basic technique and a simple routine. Parents/Guardians do not join their child in the program room.

NEW! Preschoolers Hawaiian Dance and Movement

2-5 Years

Preschoolers Hawaiian Dance and Movement is a fun and lively class for ages 2 to 5. Children will have fun learning new dance techniques, expressing themselves through dance, movement, and music, to the fun music of Hawaii, Polynesia, and more!

Preschool Piano

3-5 Years

A fun and creative class to introduce preschoolers to music. Children will learn to find notes and play a song by the end of the course. They will also be taught to read music, play by ear and compose their own songs.

Bright Beginnings

For those who don't meet the age requirements of year long preschool. We introduce children to a world of exploring, sharing, and making friends. Includes music, play, art and crafts, stories and active play.

DROP-IN PLAY

Active Start Drop-in

2-5 Years

This reservable drop-in program provides an excellent opportunity for you and your child to work on your physical literacy and fundamental movement skills in a fun, active and social environment. Ride-on toys, kindergym equipment, bouncy castle and a whole lot of sports equipment will have your toddler running, bouncing, balancing, shooting and kicking to their hearts content. Reserve up to two weeks in advance to guarantee your spot.

Art Explorers Camp

A fun filled week of process based art exploration and play. Preschoolers will explore the world of art through the use of paints, crayons, clay and other creative materials. Watch as imaginations soar and friendships are made in this fun and creative camp. Weekly themes include: Fantastical & Magical and Colourful Artists

Dance Sampler Camp

4-5 Years

For dancers that want to try it all! This week we will spend time on both graceful, technical basics of ballet and the high energy, more fast-paced style of jazz and hip hop dance. During the week, kids will dance, play games and create unique crafts.

Outdoor And Adventure

Nature Preschool Camp

3-5 Years

Utilizing the beautiful and varied 109 acres at WSPR, this is an all outdoors, all -weather nature program. Child led daily adventures in nature, artistic expression and imaginative play will help children explore and deepen their understanding of the natural outdoor world. We will have drop off and pick up at various locations, WSPR, Esquimalt Lagoon, Royal Roads and Thetis Lake.

RICHARDSON SPORT

Half-Day Multi Sport Camp

4-6 Years

This camp is designed to give children a positive first interaction with 10 sports. Children will acquire skills in hockey, tennis, soccer, volleyball, baseball, rugby, lacrosse, golf, basketball, and football. Skills are taught in a safe, structured environment that focuses on building self-esteem. Our NCCP Instructors will teach through games and activities designed to explore agility, timing, balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development tailored to individual skill levels.

SOCCERTRON Soccer Tots

3-5 Years

These upbeat, instructional sessions are perfect for players wanting to learn the FUNdamentals of soccer. Soccertron stresses learning the correct techniques so players can thoroughly enjoy soccer for the rest of their careers. Progressive skills are taught using fun activities, under the supervision of Soccertron's enthusiastic coaches

Kinderprep

Summer Kinderprep

4-5 Years

A super fun summer camp for preschoolers and those getting ready for Kindergarten in the Fall. Kids will enjoy a variety of fun crafts, songs, games, outside time and physical literacy too. Time is dedicated each day to kindergarten preparation such as numbers, literacy and structured play. Come and have some fun with us!
