Aspiring Artists Art Studio

Unleash your creativity! We offer quality art classes, workshops, and camps for kids, teens, and families. With small class sizes for personalized instruction, the art studio is a place where kids and youth are encouraged to be creative and curious while also learning how to properly use tools, work with a variety of art mediums, acquire artistic vocabulary, and gain an age appropriate understanding of the history of art and artists.

Our knowledgeable instructor engages students in exciting and challenging projects that grow artistic skills and let each artist's uniqueness shine through. We believe that art is for everyone, and offer positive encouraging studio experiences suitable for all ages, levels of experience, and interests.

Fun with mud! Hand building, modeling and construction are introduced during this creative course. Students will also experience the challenge of throwing on the potter’s wheel. All finished pieces will be fired in our kilns and be ready for pick up approximately 3-4 weeks after the course ends.

Performing Arts

Ballet and Jazz

6-9 Years

We will focus on beginner to intermediate ballet techniques and posture both on the bar and across the floor. Students will also build confidence and knowledge in jazz styled dance, completing a fun and creative choreographed routine.

Hip Hop

5-7 Years and 7-11 Years

High energy, funky music and fun choreography are sure to please in this dynamic class. Students will sample a few of the many diverse styles of hip hop and will build on basic technique and a choreographed routine.

Guitar

7-12 Years

Guitar instruction in a fun class setting! Covers reading music (Standard Notation and TAB), tuning methods, basic theory, single string playing, basic chords and finger strengthening exercises. Students will acquire tools to play simple songs from rock to classical. Instrument rental available through PJ Music. Please email pamsmirl@gmail.com.

A creative fun approach to learning about music and piano while developing good technique, rhythm and basic note reading and compositing skills.

PJ Jammers

7-12 Years

Young rockers rotate on drums, electric guitar, and keyboard for a unique experience combining instruments, theory, singing, ensemble performance and rock 'n' roll fantasy. Easy-to-play songs allow immediate access to performing in a rock band. Instruments provided; no additional practice required.

Want more attention in your piano lessons? This semi-private lesson will give you all the tips and tricks you need to play beautifully.

Cooking for Fun

Tap into your inner chef and join us for exciting sessions of handson culinary creation. Each session will introduce your child to basic cooking skills and nutrition tips while learning exciting dishes that can easily be created at home.

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING FOR KIDS

Homeschoolers - Survival on the Red Planet

6-10 Years

This series of classes is all about understanding the science, technology, and engineering that will make human habitation on Mars possible. You will learn about the Artemis Mission and how it is paving the way toward the ultimate goal of sending human beings to the surface of Mars and explore the topics that address a human being's basic needs for survival on the Red Planet, such as water, oxygen, solar energy, and protection from UV radiation. Through fun and exciting, hands-on investigations, experiments, and building challenges, you will work in teams to design and build a physical prototype of your own Mars base.

Every week, our instructors will challenge them to construct stronger and sturdier bridges. Will your bridge survive our testing?!

LEADERSHIP AND TRAINING Home Alone

10-14 Years

Designed to educate children on staying safe at home alone, this workshop covers topics including home and fire safety, dealing with strangers, snack and meal preparation, emergency procedures and first aid. Please note that this course does not certify participants to babysit other children.

French for Kids

7-12 Years

A French journey for children under 12 with L'Alliance Française. Your child will learn to speak with confidence through games and fun task-based activities that will develop their listening and pronunciation skills.

OUTDOORS Learn to Fish

5 Years & Older

Join the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC for this 2-hour session where you will learn about hatchery roles, fish identification, proper fish handling, tackle, rod rigging and casting, followed by hands on fishing at the lake! Horseback Riding Pro D Day Camp

6-16 Years

Horseback riding lessons are a great way to develop confidence, balance and coordination. Learn to ride on safe, well-trained school horses from qualified instructors. Suitable for beginner and intermediate riders. The program at Cedar Vista Stables includes riding lessons, basic horsemanship and safety around horses focusing on having fun while acquiring an appreciation for these incredible animals. Riding is a great way to get fit in an enjoyable outdoor environment.

Pro D Day – Minecraft and Mechanical Engineering

Spend the morning in our creative virtual world of Minecraft where you’ll solve engineering challenges using teamwork and ingenuity. Then, in the afternoon, we will continue developing our engineering skills through mechanical engineering challenges.
