OUTDOOR & ADVENTURE

NEW Equity Across the Board Skatepark

½ day Camps

8-11 Years

Always wanted to learn to skateboard? Join us at the NEW Thrifty Foods Skatepark at West Shore Parks & Recreation. This half day camp is for first time/beginner skateboarders. Lead by certified skateboarding instructors. Learn the basics, warming up/ stretching, foot placement, balance, push, turn, stop and how to fall. Campers will participate in skateboard games that enhance skill development, learn about equipment and maintenance, skatepark safety, etiquette, and adaptations.

Funding for this program has been made possible by the Government of Canada through the Community Sport for All Initiative and the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association. Removing barriers and increasing sport participation for underrepresented populations.

Camp registration available after grand opening this spring.

Hang Time

9-12 Years

You won't spend much time with your feet on the ground in this camp! We'll explore activities such as indoor climbing walls and Wild Play! Each day will be dedicated to a new adventure so if you're looking to 'hang out', we hope you'll join us.

Out & About

8-12 Years

Adventure and excitement await! Have a blast in an action-packed camp full of new and exciting themes. Each week will include crafts, games, sports, swimming, and offsite adventures. For great times and great friends, join us for a summer full of fun.

Outdoor Adventures

8-12 & 10-14 Years

The outdoors are calling… Get in touch with your wild side here at West Shore with the Outdoor Adventures Camp! The week consists of outdoor outings such as hiking, paddling, and more!

Wild About Water

9-12 Years

This camp is made for water-lovers! Each day will consist of a waterbased activity such as river tubing, paddle boarding, and more. You'll play games, learn water safety and spend time at the pool. Have a blast while you try out new activities and learn new skills!

West Coast Forest School

Forest School Camp

6-12 Years

Forest School is about promoting a deep and lasting connection to the natural world and to each other through purposeful play and exploration. Every day is a different adventure as we follow participants' own interests through nature immersion. CEDAR VISTA RIDING STABLES Horseback Riding Camp

6-13 Years

A wonderful program spent outside in this hands-on program that promotes horsemanship while encouraging students to discover their love of horses. Horseback riding lessons are a great way to develop confidence, balance and coordination. Learn to ride on safe, well trained school horses from qualified instructors. Suitable for beginner and intermediate riders. The program at Cedar Vista Stables includes riding lessons, basic horsemanship and safety around horses focusing on having fun while acquiring an appreciation for these incredible animals. Riding is a great way to get fit in an enjoyable outdoor environment.

ECOQUEST

Earth Science

8-12 Years

Come and experience the beautiful ecology that surrounds us! In this full-day camp, participants will be involved in activities and adventure that will connect them to the natural environment. The program will consist of science experiments, co-operative games and plenty of outdoor adventures including kayaking and a trip to Wild Play. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the ocean, marshes or wetlands and participate in a variety of activities that allow participants to discover the magnificent British Columbian coast. Kayaking Introduction

8-12 Years

Paddle your way to becoming a kayak pro! This camp is great for first timers and those who are looking to develop more skills. Explore different locations on the water while learning safety, terminology, tips and tricks! All required safety equipment, kayaks and transportation are included. ECOQUEST

Kayaking Essentials

8-12 Years

The next step after successfully completing the "EcoQuest Kayaking Introduction". Kayakers will continue to build on their skills including advanced paddling, safety, rescue, and trip planning while exploring new locations on the water. Each day will be more challenging. Basketball Half and Full-Day Camps

6-14 Years

Eli Pasquale has been bringing basketball to the Greater Victoria community since 1984. Emphasis is on improving individual skills and learning team play. We believe the objective of youth sports at all levels is fun, learning, and individual development. Camp includes T-Shirt.

HOPON

Bike Camp Levels 2-3

7-10 Years

Spend a week making friends, learning new skills, and having fun with Cycling BC's HopOn instructors! This full-day camp includes fun and age-appropriate skills, games, and bike rides, as well as 1-hour of swimming on Tuesday & Thursday. Rental bikes and helmets available if requested during registration. Children must self-assess as HopOn level 2-3. (Able to stop & start quickly, use their gears and stand up and coast) In partnership with Cycling BC.

HOPON

Bike Camp Levels 3-4

9-12 Years

Spend a week making friends, learning new skills, and having fun with Cycling BC's HopOn instructors! This full-day camp includes fun and age-appropriate skills, games, and bike rides, as well as 1-hour of swimming on Tuesday & Thursday. Rental bikes and helmets available if requested during registration. Children must self-assess as HopOn level 3-4. (Able to roll off a sidewalk curb, use their brakes safely, and go down a hill) In partnership with Cycling BC.

HOPON

Bike Camp Levels 4-5

11-14 Years

Spend a week making friends, learning new skills, and having fun with Cycling BC's HopOn instructors! This full-day camp includes fun and age-appropriate skills, games, and bike rides, including learning to ride the velodrome! The camp also includes 1-hour of swimming on Tuesday & Thursday. Rental bikes and helmets available if requested during registration. Children must self-assess as HopOn level 4-5. (Able to lift the front wheel, and complete a stop & go without touching a foot on the ground) In partnership with Cycling BC.

RICHARDSON Sport Multi-Sport Full Day Camp

7-10 Years

This camp is designed to give children a positive interaction with 10 sports. Children will acquire skills in hockey, tennis, soccer, volleyball, baseball, rugby, lacrosse, golf, basketball, and football. Skills are taught in a safe, structured environment that focuses on building self-esteem. Our NCCP instructors will teach through games and activities designed to explore agility, timing, balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development tailored to individual skill levels.

Junior Sports Active Start

6-8 Years

Kids have a great opportunity to enhance skills and create friendships through this activity-based sports camp! There will be structured and unstructured games, activities, and sports that promote active lifestyles while developing participants’ physical literacy.

Sports Action

9 - 12 Years

Enjoy this multi-sport camp! Explore new indoor and outdoor sports each day. Participants will work on their physical literacy and fundamental movement skills through sports, games, and free play. At Sports Action, we keep the focus on FUN!

Tennis Half-Day Camp

7-13 Years

Learn the FUNdamentals of tennis with Tennis Canada Certified coaches. Skills, physical coordination, and game play.

Our West Shore Parks & Recreation Leaders will be in a different park each week for a low-cost outdoor summer camp experience. We will play active games and sports with time for crafts and creations too. Themes and activities will change each week.

You must pre-register to come out to play.
