Ever improving design Creating comfort begins with good design. Design that is both useable and unobtrusive, as well as aesthetically pleasing. At Shackletons we create products that both look the part and withstand the rigours of everyday use, combining visual appeal with a construction thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s highly durable and practical for your staff to maintain. Our design philosophy is one of continuous improvement and development, and customer feedback plays a vital role. We also regularly invite customers to our Dewsbury facility to help us fine-tune and test designs. We control every aspect of our manufacturing process, so we can quickly develop prototypes or modify existing designs to improve them further. That means a design idea can rapidly progress from prototype to available product.

Experts in creating comfort Decades of practical experience go into every Shackletons product. We employ a team of skilled upholsterers, many of them with more than 30 years experience in the industry. Even with that level of expertise, upholstery is a painstaking and labour-intensive art. Our craftsmen know that the comfort of a chair relies on support as well as softness. That’s why we utilise several premium foams for example ‘Super Bultex’ in our cushioning, and ‘over-wrap’ with extra layers in areas of high contact, such as the arms. Seat cushion support is provided by either serpentine springs, which combine high strength with great comfort, or by 70% stretch-woven elasticated webbing. This doesn’t perish like inferior rubber webbing, and by using just the right amount, we provide superb levels of comfort. 11

Built from the best Creating comfort requires the best materials. For our frames, we use beech hardwood, renowned as the premium frame material amongst furniture manufacturers. The characteristics of beech timber, having a highly dense grain, gives it exceptional strength and stability ensuring that itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s less likely to twist or warp. The even grain of beech means that there are fewer blemishes too so even in natural finish your furniture will look great. While a wonderfully smooth finish allows a deep, lustrous polish, something we achieve using specialist premium high build antibacterial lacquers. The antibacterial performance is achieved utilising silver particles produced by Nano Technology and is Formaldehyde free. For dining seats we use premium grade birch laminate that is up to 8 times stronger than chipboard, commonly used in some of our competitors chairs. With a choice of wood stain finishes to choose from we can give you the overall look that will make your design scheme stand out. We can even colour match the stain finish to your specification. Most of our suppliers are located within a 50 mile radius of our workshop and most of our product materials are sourced in the UK. Two facts weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re very proud of and that greatly reduces our carbon footprint. Now thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a comforting thought.

Making things differently We call our manufacturing process ‘Lean Enterprise’ and we’re justifiably proud of it. It provides an ultra-efficient working environment that ensures we don’t waste time or materials. Our highly skilled staff never have to hunt for materials in an untidy facility, instead they focus solely on making the best products in the industry. Being so efficient means we know how long every stage of production takes and allows us be very precise with manufacture and delivery timings. It also gives you greater flexibility. If you need to change your order, to alter quantities or colours for example, that’s not a problem - even after we’ve begun manufacture. We’ll always call you prior to production, and again during the process, to check you’re happy with your order. 15

Making customers comfortable too At Shackletons, customer service is very important to us. We are dedicated to exceeding expectations and building long-lasting relationships. Our Customer Care Department is staffed by experts who can guide you from your initial enquiry, to delivery and beyond, and a dedicated Customer Care Advisor provides one point of contact and the personal service you deserve. If you need to discuss your requirements in more detail, a Regional Sales Manager dedicated to your account will be delighted to visit you at your premises. Our Customer Care Department aims to: - respond to all queries within 1 hour - process quotations within 24 hours - process orders within 24 hours, and provide confirmation within 48 hours - resolve all product and repair issues within 14 days We will also ask for your feedback following every delivery. Quality, quicker The best products are of little use if it takes forever to deliver them. At Shackletons we place as much importance on timely delivery as on quality manufacture. Our lorries are fitted with interchangeable and demountable boxes for quicker reloading. We also track them, so we always know exactly where your order is in transit. And our drivers know their delivery areas inside out, so they get there quicker. On average, order to delivery takes just 18 working days. That’s our standard service across our entire product range. And we don’t charge a premium for it either. Please ask us about our Standard, Premium and Deluxe delivery options. Once your order is delivered, you can either choose to install it yourself or we’ll do it for you and take away the packaging. It’s entirely up to you. 19
