Gallery 7 Theatre Announces 2019/2020 ‘Ordinary Heroes’ Theatre Season Gallery 7 Theatre is thrilled to announce their 29th annual, 2019-2020 ‘Ordinary Heroes” Theatre season, set to begin this fall. Featuring an all-new playbill that is sure to entertain while offering nourishment for the heart, soul and mind, the season will include an award-winning musical, a Canadian play, plus two shows from the international repertoire. The season continues in late January with Tempting Providence, an inspiring story of heroism sprinkled with generous doses of humour and romance by Canadian playwright, Robert Chafe. In March, an award-winning musical version of the children’s

classic, The Secret Garden, will take to the stage. A story of healing, forgiveness and renewal written by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon, the play promises to warm the heart and refresh the spirit. The mainstage series wraps up with the hilarious, highly theatrical adventure comedy, Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, written by Ken Ludwig. In addition to the mainstage series, Gallery 7 Theatre will also be offering an exciting ‘second-stage’ series. In September, the theatre will host Abby Theatre Fest. This festival will feature an eclectic mix of short plays that are sure to challenge and stretch boundaries while showcasing the talents of emerging and established directors, playwrights, actors and designers from through-out the Lower Mainland. Then, in December, Gallery 7 Theatre will join forces with Pacific Theatre in Vancouver to bring the community Christmas Presence, a stocking stuffed full of seasonal music and stories. Then, in March, the always funny, always amazing Panic Squad and Friends will take to the stage with their unique brand of hilarious clean comedy improv. Season subscriptions are now available for purchase at discounts of up to 25% off individual ticket prices. For more information on Gallery 7 Theatre’s 2019/2020 “Ordinary Heroes” Theatre season, including complete play descriptions, schedules, and subscription packages, please visit www.gallery7theatre.com

Wow! August 2 to 4, 2019 will bring Abbotsford’s 109th Agrifair!! Two years in a row, Agrifair has been voted “Favourite Community Event” (Abbotsford News poll) and received an Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards nomination for the “Tourism Event of the Year”. We aim to make this year’s event an even bigger success. In keeping with our 2019 theme, “Where Memories Are Made”, we have, once again, created a diverse, family-friendly program of entertainment guaranteed to create lifelong memories for ruralites and urbanites alike. Already scheduled new events include a Pirate Ship Show - get your best “arr matey” ready as ‘Pirates of the Fraser’ tell a tale of battles, trickery, thievery and deception. As the Royal Navy defends it’s fleet, in particular ‘The Maid of the Moores’, the finest ship of the Royal Navy vessels. They will have to fight extra hard to fend off the scurvy pirates of the Fraser River. A test of skills will do the job to see who sails away with the ship…but maybe Crackers the Parrot has other ideas? Buy your raffle ticket to be part of the Crushin It; tank car-crush event. Win a prime seat in the Tank as it crushes cars! Proceeds will be shared with Cops for Cancer, Canuck House Abbotsford, CMEC and Agrifair. Back after a 15 year absence a jaw dropping, ear popping Tractor/Truck Pull Competition and Show. Presented by Campbell Motorsports of

We haven’t forgotten about the family returning favorites featuring the Racing Pig & Duck show, Motorsports Arena action with demolition derby, Pro Wrestling with special guest Davey Boy Smith Jr, Antique Farm Machinery demos and kids peddle tractors, the multitude of 4-H exhibitors and competitors, LEGO and Shooting Star Midway. NOT enough? How about evening concerts? Friday features “Agrifair’s Talent with a Twist”, hint – think Gong Show! Saturday concert entertainment starts with Cambree Lovesy, Ryan McAllister & the North Country Gentlemen, finishing with night with CHILLIWACK, Whatch Gonna Do?? Closing the fair for 2019 the Sunday concert, Praise in the Park features David Dunn, Mark Schultz and headliner The Afters.
