directing the production. “I have wonderful actors and we are having so much fun. This is Noel Coward and he is so well known from so many plays that he has written that are always about people arguing. There is lots of arguing in the play with two crazy ladies getting drunk and having love affairs.” Filled with ideas and bursting with enthusiasm, Cavendish always impresses her public and audiences can look forward to busting a gut when Fallen Angels opens May 14. “I love to hear an audience laugh. Sometimes when you are on the stage and you hear one person laughing at a joke all by themselves out of control... you go wow we’ve got them. And the sound of laughter, individual like a snow flake is so amazingly different from one person to the next. You can hear that it is coming from some emotional point. It is stunning. The world needs more laughter… and love and affection.”

The sea around Parksville and Qualicum Beach offers stretches of days with gentle conditions and beautiful views from May onwards. You’ll see more cars heading to and from the beaches with kayaks and paddleboards on their roof racks and there is often the glint of paddle blades flashing in the sun’s rays as you enjoy spectacular views of Lasqueti, Texada and the Coast Mountains from our easily accessible beaches. While it’s worth knowing that winds can arrive from over the mountains with very little warning, spells of settled weather offer great opportunities for new or experienced paddlers to get out and enjoy the beautiful perspective of our local coastline seen with the snowy tops of Mounts Arrowsmith, Cokely and Moriarty as a backdrop. more information

Joke of the Month It is the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere, two cars both slightly cross over the white line in the centre of the road. They collide and a fair amount of damage is done, miraculously neither driver is hurt. They both get out. One is a doctor, one is a lawyer. The lawyer calls the police on his cell phone and they say they will be there within 20 minutes. It’s cold and damp, and both men are shaken up.
