Pack along a picnic, and enjoy the wildlife and scenery, or go for a swim! Rugged Point Marine Provincial Park: Accessible by boat only. Wilderness camping. Picnic area. Fresh water for boaters and campers. Canoeing/Kayaking. Windsurfing. Salmon fishing. Short 5-min trail. Peppercorn Trail: 40 minutes one way. Runs along the Gold River. Featuring swimming and cliff jumping. Heber River Trail: Directly off Hwy 28. The Heber river joins the Gold river. 40 min trail round trip following the heber Canyon. Great fly fishing location. Scout lake Trail: (2km) Comes up to the western shore of Scout Lake. Elk River Trail: (13 km- one way) Trail to scenic Landslide lake. 2 backcountry campsites on the way there. (No facilities). Trail starts off Hwy 28. Lady Falls: 15 min round trip. At the end of the path is a viewing platform right across from the falls. Indian Falls: on Highway 28 toward Muchalat Inlet. Provides good views of the river, forest and the beautiful falls that drop down the canyon. MOUNTAIN BIKING: Explore the trails and jumps at Scout Lake and Antler LAKE. MOUNTAIN CLIMBING: Visit nearby Strathcona Provincial Park to climb Kings Peak, Elkhart Mountain and Crest Craggs.

CAVING
The Little Huson: Located on the Atluck Creek canyon that flow from the Little Huson Lake. Easy to moderate caving. Upana Caves: 5 caves to explore, a viewpoint overlooking a waterfall, and a viewing platform to look at the Resurgence Cave entrance. West on Head Bay Forest Road. Weimar Caves: 5km southeast of Tahsis. Moderate to high risk. For experienced or guided visitors. Thanksgiving Ridge: Located above Head Bay at the end of Tlupana Inlet. These caves are extreme, treacherous and repelling experience is a must. White Ridge Provincial Park Caving: Located on the East side of Gold River in the mountains. Some of Canadas longest and deepest caves. For experienced cavers.
