Demand for tickets to Somerset Rocks has been outstanding with eager fans snapping up tickets to see Status Quo, Will Young and Jools Holland. Music lovers desperate to be part of this bespoke music event have been purchasing tickets online from ticketline.co.uk and from St. Margaret’s Hospice shops throughout Somerset. Ticket sales to each of the three shows, billed as Somerset Rocks, have been exceptional and beyond the organiser’s expectations. Somerset Rocks is a threeevening music event being held at Taunton’s Vivary Park to raise funds and awareness for St. Margaret’s Hospice. It takes place during the August bank holiday weekend (26-28 August 2016) and features Status Quo (Friday 26 August); Will Young (Saturday 27 August); and Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra (Sunday 28 August). BMAD (Bikers Make a Difference), the local Torbay based motorcycle charity, started in 2002 with the idea to have a social gathering of bikers on Paignton Seafront, with the intention of raising money for charity, whilst having a good time. This year the event runs from 6pm on Friday 29th April until Sunday 1st May, making it a perfect trip for the Bank Holiday weekend. The 2016 Festival is looking to be the best yet with something for all the family – young and old. Over 100 trade stands from across the UK including major motorcycle dealers and manufacturers will be exhibiting top branded goods such as Harley Davidson and Hyundai. To keep the kids amongst us entertained will be Steve Colley and Lee Musselwhite, who have joined forces to provide an amazing motorcycle and BMX stunt show in the arena. There will also be the Wall of Death, as seen on the Channel 4 with Guy Martin, and a fun fair. The Breeze Street Crew will be attending with their road show on the Saturday. New events planned this year will be men’s and women’s ‘Tasteful Tattoos’ competition on the Saturday and the ‘Best Beard’ competition – open to men and children on the Sunday. There will also be judging for the Best Bike competition over four categories and a £1000 prize for the best bike overall. There is free entry for the public to all the events, trade stands and food stalls. Entry to the Band Tent and Festival Bar is £3 on Friday, £5 on Saturday and £4 on Sunday with a Weekend Pass at only £8. Children are free. Bikers who wish to park their bikes on the sea front promenade will pay the same entry prices with free entry to the Band Tent and Festival Bar. The Festival Bar will feature over 30 different real ales and ciders specially chosen for the BMAD event such as Pistonhead lager. Bands from across Europe and the UK have been personally selected to give full entertainment. Friday night will see the Lorraine Crosby Band headlining. Better known as “Mrs. Loud”, Rock Chick Lorraine’s most famous works are as the female vocalist in Meat Loaf’s 1993 hit single “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)” and I’ll Stand by You” with Bonnie Tyler (2005). On Saturday night, Johnny Warman will be the headline act. Warman has written songs for and performed with some of the world’s greatest artists such as Ringo Starr, The Jam and Peter Gabriel. Sunday sees Torbay’s popular ska band, The Simmertones, with Hells Bells, a popular UK AC/DC tribute act closing the Festival. The Velopark is open to everyone seven days a week all year round, whether you need to regain your confidence, want a recreational hobby or to become an amateur or professional cyclist. The Velopark enables cycling to be a great activity for all of the family to enjoy together in a safe environment without the dangers of being on a road. ‘A cycle a day, keeps the doctor away’ so by having fun at the Velopark you can be improving your health at the same time.

Hire bikes also include Trikes for those with less balance, a Tandem, a hand cycle and recumbent trikes. If your little ones are too small to ride we have single and double trailers available to hire for just £6 including the bike. Pay and display parking is available on site. Other facilities include toilets close by and cake and coffee kiosk is available (weather dependant). FREE wifi is available on site so you can check in at the Velopark and track your progress

ELTON JOHN ANNOUNCES SPECIAL SUMMER DATE AT WESTPOINT, EXETER He is one of the most recognisable, most decorated and bestselling British artists of all time, and once again Elton John will perform on British shores, having announced a string of huge dates in June next year – including a very special show at Westpoint Exeter on June 19th. Elton will, as part of these dates, bring his world-renowned live band show to Exeter on June 19th, in what will be a truly unique and special event – he has only performed in Exeter twice before, once in 1973 and once in 2003 solo. So it is over 40 years since Elton and his band have performed in Exeter. Having given over 4000 performances in a career spanning more than fifty years, Elton said:
